If you'll read Alone was the keyword in that sentence which means the only one of those deaths that counts is the rock glitch, a bandit means you werent alone, and same for zombies. Also if you read the comment i was replying to he uses places to pitch tents, and leave vehicles and also says "as far away for buildings/hotspots as possible" inside a barn is not a where he was talking about, nor was I. Every barn is listed on the map at dayzmap.info so again the only legitamte death you listed is the rock glitch one which i personally do not know anyone who has experienced although it could be more common then i believe, to show up on this heatmap many people would need to die in the same spot to make a mark, which in the wilderness is unlikely. -

i like the idea but i agree with lockedown's idea of making it a pack that has some storage but you get multiple drinks of water so it has the pro of not needing to carry waterbottles, but the con of having less overall storage space. You could also make it a variant of each of the current packs like ALICE CMBK sort of like SD ammo, and have the water bottles maybe built into the pack slots, or added to the toolbelt.

I'm ok with the current zombies i just hate how they can walk through closed doors, that's the biggest thing to me.

and as anders stated non of that would be shown it would only be where people died so unless you died in the middle of nowhere alone, which is a feat unto itself, you have nothing to worry about -

to be clear i wasnt saying dayz should have a skill system, im completely against it for this game, i was just pointing out how good sandox games have other aspects in them to increase the longtime playability, and i think dayz could benefit from some sort of missions

every sandox game i can think of still has some sort of missions/quests. I'm sure there are some without them but if you think of the great ones they all have missions/quests because they add purpose wether you do them or not is up to you. GTA is a great exapmle, i know people who have never beat any but just run around and kill people and steal cars, but the people that tend to put the most time in are the people who beat the game, because they fuck around and do the quests, same with the elder scrolls series, If all there was to do was just run around and find gear it would get boring fast, at least they have levels so your characters can all be different. I think some sort of objective is a a great idea, you dont need to do them if you dont want, but if you do it will add a bit variety to the game and help promote co-op if the missions are difficult.

Dynamic Helicopter Crashes!

i like it a lot but i have a question you said these random ones and the static ones so are you suggesting the helicopter we see crash will spawn after the crash or will it merely be a way of leading multiple people to crash sites that have already spawned. -

i dont want pvp to be different, and as far as the physics i have to say that the only game i ever modded was halo 2 but back when i did that all i did was alter the damage values done by weapons, it was pretty simple. I have to claim i dont know how the damage would be altered in this game but i assume it would be the same. Regardless many people talk about the zombies not being an issue and only needing to worry about other people, this would make zombies harder to defeat and make ammo shortages more common without changing spawn rates.

i like the idea, you could have it give you a slight amount of protection, and even make it break after it takes to many shots (as thats what actually happens to the ceramic plates in body armor) and make them only spawn on military base zombies to make them somewhat rare.

I've seen a few things about making headshots only kill, and while it would make the game harder it also makes certain weapons pretty useless, for instance the revolver would be the worst sidearm and the makarov would actually be one of the better guns due to its lower noise level, more common ammo spawn, and larger mag. But, if you were to lower the damage of most guns making people choose to be deliberate with their shots or burn through there ammo. what i propose is that all guns still kill in one headshot, but make only the .50 cal snipers and shotguns (except the 1866) kill in one body shot. The .45 pistols, snipers and 1866 2. The 7.62 assault rifles and lmg's 3-4. The 5.56 assault rifles and lmg 4-5 and the 9mm 5-6 with the makarov being 7. This would'nt affect killing one zombie very much but if people had to take on 4-5 they might have to consider if they can even do it, "will i have enough ammo or do i need to reload?" if they get all headshots then theres no problem but hitting a zig zagging sprinter wont be easy, and if they go for the body shots it might take an entire mag to kill a small group, ammo will be slightly more precious even though it spawns often because you'll likely need to use much more to kill, it might also help promote teamwork because it may no longer be possible to take on certain hordes without backup. Now some people might be saying that it makes shotguns to good, and thats a fair point, shotguns will be pretty damn good, but they still have limited range and ammo capacity so they would only be good against small zombie groups, large groups you would likely need the increased ammo capacity that comes with the higher end assault rifles and lmg's. Snipers would still be good, just make sure you get headshots and truthfully thats just better balance for them, if they all kill in one hit there isnt any point to get a .50 cal as its ammo is more rare and is louder. I think that would make the game better in the long run by making it slightly more challenging but not altering the gameplay much. [EDIT] i forgot to post crossbow damage, i would make it 4 arrows to kill
