  1. Does anyone know if the server difficulties reflect at all on the Zed AI or is it just all based upon the options available (i.e. 3rd person view, etc.)???
  2. I keep reading that zeds being able to hear you through walls/buildings has decreased by 50% but I haven't read anywhere about their sight being decreased through walls/buildings. I think that was my biggest gripe. Now, there sight is increased & no mention about being able to see you behind the closed doors of a house/school. I think that, if you are able to get in undetected & can secure the room/building in the same manner, wouldn't that be a 'safehouse?' Do zeds have the ability to remember, 'that door was open 5 mins ago?' I guess, I just don't understand the dynamics of the zeds. Are they dumb & just driven by instinct? Are they driven by instinct but still have full brain functionality? Also, if they aggro from a football field away by just seeing your outline, wouldn't they do the same when they see a zed at the same distance? Do they not make mistakes now? I love the idea of 28 Days Later zombies, if that is what they are intended on being, but someone (thing) driven by instinct alone would do just that. It seems like instinct is meshed with logic when they approach a survivor...charge, zig zag, and attack from an angle... I haven't been playing long but it seems like there have been multiple concepts (major variations) of the types of zeds involved. Can we just settle on an idea & run with it? Once we do, can it be discussed so we can have an idea of what we are dealing with rather than figuring one out & then getting an entirely new type dropped at our doorstep?

    Build/buy computer for Day Z?

$1000 will get you a pretty damn good comp, bro. You could easily get something to run DayZ for around $500. I am in the same boat & am planning to get a bunch of stuff from newegg.com. They have a credit card inwhich you can get 0% financing for purchases over $500. I think its a 12 month timeframe too.

    Buildings, doors, etc.

Thanks guys. Thanks for the map, Morgan. I was hoping to not use that thing & try to immerse myself into the feeling of solitude but I guess it doesn't matter if I can't move more than a mile without getting clipped...
  9. Are you only able to enter buildings that have open doors? If not, how are you able to enter them? On a side note, I read the same tip everywhere...close the door behind. When I do this, I still get hammered by zombies as they clip through the door. What is the point of closing the door? And is the zombie AI set to automatically recognize you are in a building? It seems like they have x-ray vision for buildings...
  10. That's the problem I find too. If there is a zombie in the area & I move into a house to grab some loot, it's like I have a dang magnet...they automatically know where I am. I would like to see the zombie AI dumbed down a little. I think it is silly that they have this innate sense of your location. I'm just having a tons a trouble doing anything with them finding me like this...
  11. ...but I have played for about 90 mins on multiple different lives. Not once have I found a gun or come remotely close to one. I found some ammo & some empty cans but nothing remotely useful. I also find that I am consistently sought out by zombies as I am prone or crouching. I mean, I know they can see but crap...I'm getting murdered... I read somewhere that zeds will automatically be drawn to a player's location but this is insane...zombies blast through closed doors, which I cannot open afterwards to escape & I cannot escape any that find me in open land. If I am spotted on a field, I feel that I should just go to the prone position & wait until I am able to respawn because I have no hope. No gun at spawning is a definite hamstring... Loving the game but feel like I am at a disadvantage for being a noob. I am regretting my purchase...
  12. I have looked at multiple posts & websites but am still undecided. There seems to be install and other misc issues with both. Which do you feel would be the easiest? Buying the hard copy or downloading via Steam? Anyone know what you get with the hard copy that you don't with the Steam download? Maps, extended manual, etc? Any help would be greatly appreciated...

DayZ Mobile app for Android (v. 1.50)

Is it listed on the Google Play Store yet?
  14. I can play DayZ without issues but as soon as I have to download the beta version, I continuously get kicked off of games or run into the bad cd key issue. So is downloading the beta necessary? On a side note, I can't find much info on it. What does the beta change/correct? How is it different from the patch updates?
