  1. I for one believe there should be a a certain limit where you can't see nametags anymore. I was on Zug castle and saw someone 500M away with m CZ. Good for me, bad for them, and honestly very cheap. I think it should only go up to 30 M.
  2. This is just a suggestion. I think it would be easier to host files via torrent because just think about all the people that downloads the files. Then if even just a fourth of those people seed those files it would be 10x faster than direct download. It would also solve the problem with content servers. It doesn't have to be official, does someone want to set one up?
  3. I did not have any gear when I spawned. I did not have a survivor skin or a bandit skin. I had a different skin. As I walked around no sound was produced and I found other players, or at least player models. I was able to communicate with them with a menu of some sort (never played Arma 2 Vanilla) and I was able to ask "How's the weather" and I was able to "greet" them and ask "where's the nearest settlement"? Also when I attempted to go into 3rd person mode no character model was given. The symbols on the right were also gone leaving nothing.     Is this normal?

    So there's no invisible wall or trees you can't pass? Seems a bit odd IMO.

    DayZ Update 1.5.7

    I've had the following bugs: Map parts disappearing, I've seen just a field of the ground texture suddenly pop up and keep on going forever, thought I took some screenshots but apparently I didn't save them. Nothing spawns in barns anymore (big ones and the ones with stairs). Sometimes zombies are silent. Sometimes I spawn with zombies right next to me. When I clear an area full of zombies, I go in a building and there's already a replacement.

    DayZ Update 1.5.7

    Damn, you were right. Me and a buddy were in a barn and shot a rifle and literally 15-25 zombies were coming to get us, we hauled ass and logged out. One thing that still needs fixing is zombie sounds being too close. It sounds like they're breathing down my neck but when I check there's no zombies to be found. One more thing, is it intended for zombies to be really near when I spawn? There was one less than 20 feet away and it immediately started charging towards me. Makes me choose safe spots to log off now...

    Why can't I vote? Also: I'm FOR removing hte bandit skin.
  12. Your reward is keeping your stuff. There is no endgame, you just keep on living. Of course you can say this is boring, however most of the fun from this games comes from being in groups. Until missions or something similar like objectives gets added, survival is the only thing to do in this game.
  13. I agree, seeing who's an enemy and who's a friendly makes it all too easy to spot who you should shoot on sight.
  14. Just bought CO. The image attached is what I'm using. However I have a few questions. Is OA already patched to 1.6? Do I still need to install Six-Updater? On "Steam Users, Step 5" is it -nosplash -mod=@dayz ?

    Server Uniqueness

    What if they made it like Minecraft servers? Hold on, just hear me out. So you'll be able to keep your characters right? But your equipment is unique to each server. This makes more sense. It makes things more permanent too. I remember EONS ago I played on a /v/ minecraft server run by nossr50 and I stayed on that servers for months until he shut it down. Why? Because a community was built. Because it felt permanent. I couldn't just get up and leave without losing all my equipment, loot, and friends. The concept of creating a "safehaven area" would also be easier. World hopping and stealing loot would also be fixed this way. Although the concept of carrying your loot across servers is cool, it would be much more immersive and cooler if each server was unique.

    What do you mean? And yeah, that's great that you do play on the same server, however many people like to exploit this game by just spawning near some loot, then logging into a different server and steal it.
  17. Are these zombies who have died then returned to life? Or is this just a virus that makes people batshit? If the former, it doesn't make sense for zombies to run, why should they when their bodies are deteriorating? Zombies are mindless, so I doubt they would have the motor skills to run without screwing up, which is why I think they should be running. I also think the only way to kill them should be a headshot, but I understand the limitations of the engine. However if it's the latter, then everything makes sense. These are basically people, just infected, so it would make sense for them to be able to run, it would also make sense for them to die with a shot to the chest, as it's very possible for a normal person to die from them. Just let it be known that I prefer the former over the latter.
