Keep the numbers and slow down their speed a bit? :D

You have to remember that the PC generation is a bit different from the PS3/Xbox generation - people generally prefer textchat over voicechat. This is simply in general though, I know a lot of people prefer voice chat and the like. In addition, if you remove the text chat, how will admins communicate with the server population? People who have English as second language generally find it easier to communicate by written English rather than verbal English (more time to think what to say and read instead of immediately translating what was just said), and admins may well not want to verbally talk with the entire server, opting for text chat instead, haha. I do understand how only voice chat could make the game more realistic, but don't do it to the detriment of the players. People may well just choose to go radio silence permanently if they don't have mics or don't wish to verbally talk.

It would probably be less taxing on the server if there was just a number of default skins rather than custom ones, like civilian, police, soldier (not a well equipped one), etc. Maybe at most have the ability to pick different colour versions? I'm not going to wear a pink priest costume though. :D

If they give you trouble, scrap them. For a replacement way to tell if someone is a bandit immediately, how about making the font colour red when a bandit player name show up in front of you (by default, it's green, isn't it?)? Also hoping for character skin choice at character creation (if possible), can always bring back the old bandit skin in that.

I like the idea of having a mix of zombies instead of ALL of them being running ones which can leg it faster than players for variety. The 'Walkers' could simply be the ones closest to the spawn point and in less populated areas to help ease new players who have little firepower. The 'Runners' are the default ones, 'Military' ones are the ones which spawn in military bases and less often in city areas, and more dangerous due to still wearing their body armour and such.

So what's to stop people from meeting off the game and using mumble or teamspeak or steam or even AIM to do voice chat instead of in the game itself to avoid all the penalties?
