    how do you hack? [hatchet]

    also for me this worked

    Non-PvP?

even if i get shot often, and die over and over again by snipers, hatchet maniacs, even if i get crippled in the middle of cherno by a makarov noob, even if i get betrayed, i'll always play dayz for the emotions he brings: frustration when you die or you cannot find an empty tincan..satifaction when you kill a bandit or you just found a colt while chased by the previous hatchet maniac, when you fix a bambi's broken leg, when you find a friendly guy giving you some blood at elektro hospital..when you group with people in an underfire building..pve is just dealing with crappy infected AI..how can you throw away the opportunity to measure yourself with another human, an enemy which is smart and deadly..you can also fail and die..but when you succeed it's the best feeling a videogame can give you..because it means you've been calm, cold, you've been smarter and worked your ass to climb that hill, to read the enemy's path and moves, you managed your resources, your ammo, you aimed steady and fired at the right moment and you prevailed.

    Best of dayz, montage

cool content! i think i subbed you already on youtube since the crossbow video..
  4. i'd like to see wounds reopen and blled again if you do too much effort, like running for a long time, jumping, going prone..
  5. it's known that CSR is similar to acute stress disorder(the biggest differences are that CSR is a shorter term disease and the factors which cause it, also fatigue..) occurring between civilians..it changes the stress factor but the symptoms are almost the same.. combat intensity can mean in most cases a shell-shock form..strictly connected with CSR. this article is interesting since the phenomenon is treated usually strictly from combat/events perspective, this social analysis brings something to think about..but there is a lot of literature about the social behaviour changes caused by military life..

    Chat in Standalone

voice is really important..it really saves your life in a lot of situations..some where you cannot trust a player enough to stop moving or putting your weapon down..push a button and explain yourself..

    Hunter/Prey

when i'm geared i usually estabilsh a territory to patrol and some locations to loot regularly and watch the days counter go up..i'm not a bandit so i easily spare someone's life even if he's in ''my'' zone, but if i'm shot i have the advantage to have a way out and some paths i know..anyway if someone has butthurt he can find me there sooner or later..i bet a lot of people have my same behavior..the area changes with your possibilities..so if you have vehicles it's bigger but the concept is the same..people have paths like animals..i always do the same route from the coast to the north with a given spawn :-)
  8. m14 ,m4 cco are my choice. i love finding an enfield in the start though..feels like you can deal with almost anyone in elektro
  9. regulator is right..think about how you play once you have a friend with you or you find someone you know online and team up with : you vs. the world
  10. shot a guy in his back while a teammate was swearing him he was friendly..all to steal his motorbike(he was carrying the fuel from a close gas station :-D) and the most exciting non-kill: i find a guy and follow him in the north..he's killed buy a ghillie near a car..the ghillie starts repairing..i watch, i start flanking when another player comes and falls dead..i stop: bino: sniper in the bushes..a ural comes..another bunch of big dogs in camo and stanag rifles..second sniper above the first comes down to the car, they finish the job and go away with both vehicles..i sit happy in my skin..

    Melee is now Pointless

mmm seen what you said, 53 minutes before death seems a bit fast.. i see that devs could have implemented this to give the feeling of a spreading infection.. but with all the pvp and the gearing rushes in main cities one of the two things is unfit for the games.. more antibiotics would give a lot of balance, with players dealing with infection and zombies in a serious way, but with infection not being a game breaking factor..

    Melee is now Pointless

i read half the topic comments... it was a bit i didn't play but i think i got something: ''dirty'' infected can infect you the infection slowly kills you antibiotics are always a pain to find the only melee weapons worth the effort are hatchet and machete (i had a baseball bat, but suddenly understood it was crowbar's sister) i still have two questions: is the blood gained from food decreased by being infected? where are the medical boxes in the hospital? maybe it's private hive matter, but it seems they are gone for me. intopic, i had the occasion to try only the baseball bat, but i'm sure that one shotting zombies with the ol' hatchet is pretty safe as before patch..just know where to fight and how do it.
  13. this is the kind of idea which gives players some window to exploit..but what doesn't? to loot/find friends quickly you have to be a bit lucky anyway..sometimes you find everything you need to go north in a single cornershop run..sometimes you need to see any building in cherno to get a makarov and an enfield..so this change will modify these factors only partially..i'd stay on the coast at spawn since starting from stary with a bandage and a pain killer could be tough..going north is a kind of level progression: big dogs are in the bushes..you can know the map as you want, but when you are in elektro, snipers and bandits can be behind any corner..

The Server Count is Too Damn High!

i've always been stick to the original mod, i barely played other maps..i just moved to private hives when the hacking thing was rampant..but i think everyone is free to play his game..so i'm open to new servers/mods..they make the community stronger imo.
  15. things are going better for me even from this side, playing in a whitelist server..keeping playing at the same time of the day and in the same hive makes you remember which players are bandits and which are survivors who team up with..i know this can be meta game aswell as teaming on TS but it's also nice for me..to have some kind of online neighborhood.. this and approaching people unnoticed while having my rifle at their ass..then we talk. obviously there always will be a sniper here and there, ready to kill you..but it's always a fps..

    sniper damage

i noticed that almost any solo player is wounded/not at full blood, so if you pick them with a sniper rifle they usually die..

    Did they "nerf" deer stands?

it seems that a lot of WWII english veterans retired in chernarussia..
  18. Bludy

Why do you shoot unarmed players?

i follow my mood, but usually i don't kill unarmed. i must say that countless times i've seen people spared coming back with guns or hatchets and non-friendly intentions

    Lowest common denominators

maybe he shot 2 of his 7 mags..if he was so bad to miss you stuck in a corridor, you should have tryed to run in the trees..

cool, i hope this suggestions goes live!

    Simple Squad Tactics

sure this seems funny and a great way to play the game, but did you find a motivation to make these raids or the best part is the journey? just curiousity..
  23. i always found people there..or they came when i was hanging in the area. i usually go for the southern barracks and then go away..it's a lot safer, and i'm not military gear addicted, i prefere deerstands. patrolling the forests around is a dirty and dangerous job and it's not guarantee that someone won't choose his firing spot in a place you stated ''safe''. i think you have just been unlucky with legit players or scripters..
