Ever since I started playing DayZ this used to happen, but as of recently this has been getting worse and worse. DayZ will launch and run as normal but every 5 minutes the game kicks my internet off. Not long enough to completely remove me from the server, but the time out message will normally appear for a good 20-30 seconds, before returning to normal. The connection is wired and it only happens when I play DayZ, anything and everything else I play, applications I run work fine which is what has me stumped. Anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this? * I did go through all of the network troubleshooting and opened up the various firewall ports that are needed, just to rule that out

I'm greatful you even replied in the first place :P I've looked into my internet service lately, but and everything is as it should be - if anything it's better than usual. 13ms ping 63mbps down 2.94mbps up Just seems like such an odd thing to be happening. Internet wise other devices in my house all seem to connect fine with minimal issues.

Sorry for the extremely delayed response, Sixth Form has been hectic the last week or so. At first it did work, managed about half an hour without disconnects. After that though I was disconnecting roughly every 10 minutes, and after about an hour it was every 5. I'm starting to think this may be hardware related though. Had something identical happen to me on Battlefield 3 the other day (Timing was different but the premise is the same, after finishing a game my local connection would seeming just die on my for a couple of seconds). Could something as selective as this be a hardware issue or possibly even a driver issue with my network card?

Thanks for the prompt reply! I'll try that in a few, hopefully this'll work :)

I've tried with both DayZ Commander and Six Launcher as well as the manual install

Will this Macbook run Day-Z?

If you have to go laptop, aim for one with some of the newer nvidia mobile graphics, as those SHOULD run it fine. -
If that was me, I would've just shot them both, if he hacked at you once, he's 99% as likely to ddo it again, plus as they were together he probably went for vengence!

Try some of the optimization threads, I use a Core 2 Duo @1.78 ghz (rated at 3.4 ghz I think) and a GT 520 1gb with 2 gb ram and i get AT LEAST 30 fps constant (Though does drop to 20-25 while entering cities, fine once i'm in/out). Fair enough setting are on low, but this is from an aging dual core with a terrible motherboard and some cheap 1033mhz DDR2 RAM.

Your might aswell get the card aswell as a decent but cheap power supply, i think you need about a 500 watt one (I think I saw it on their website as i'm currently looking for a quote on quote "budget" card) but probably worth aim a bit higher, try some of the bigger makes (Corsair, Antec) or head for something like Be Quiet, generally quite cheap and as the name says very, very silent, next to no sound xD (I have a 530watt one, works like a charm). The Intel Core 2 Duo line actually performs better than the stated speed (2.93ghz). In comparison to mine it would scale to roughly about 4ghz (Give or take a few). I think the RAM should be a concern as well (Though thats just my thoughts) as my 1333mhz in my other computer (6gb) sometimes slows down a bit (Though normally picks its self back up after 5/10mins).

Yay mate.....Yay play.... All the fun happens when I can't get on >_< On a serious note that sucks big time :-(

Now i'm not too computer smart, but an i3 3.3ghz shouldn't cause much of a bottleneck (especially on arma/Dayz) with that graphics card.

Inland people can reason more as you are both most likely well equipt to fight each other and most likely both die, and there is more you can do to hide from other player and try to reason with them! Its like me and a friend went to NW airfield, i got shot in the legs (Which actually saved my life!) so I bandage and stay down, my friend gives me morphine and runs off to deal with the guy and all I heard was 2 bursts of M16 and Bam! Both are lying dead on the floor leaving me on 300 blood xD , when theres two well armed players (Which coast players aren't normally) both parties are going to get heavily wounded and sometimes its just not worth the risk.

People KoS because as humans, we are very unpredictable. And if you got any gear (Especially if your attached to it) then you avoid the unpredictable situations by ending it before it begins.

I could play sometime if you'd like, theres about 4 of us atm if you'd want to join us, aslong as your not an idiot while were playing they wouldn't mind. Can't play till at least saturday though and we normally play late nights, from about 7 until 2-4 though i'm normally on in the day as well. We are all U.K as well! Steam: Barrwg Skype: slayermatt -
You know me xD.... Go on you know you want that lovely ghillie suit he has.... But at least when I recieve ammo from a random I don't shoot them in the face....

BlksnshN I like to do that with flares xD go on a populated server and throw flares around the city until you can see, its fun to see the confusion and rifles that go off from the shear fear in everyone. Electro is easily the most fun though.

It (As a lot of things in Dayz) is very buggy, sometimes i've had to press L a good 10 times to get it on and I find looking at the floor is an almost sure fire way to get it started, I won't work (at least for me) if it isn't aimed at the floor. Also I think (Don't quote me on this) it only works if the server is 'Night'. As the other guy said, K is compass (double click to get it to stay on screen) and O is watch (same as compass to get it to stay on screen).

How long to you wait to be logged into the game??
Barrwg replied to Persason's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
5-10 minute ain't that bad, though with them specs its probably the server or try one of the DayZ optimization threads like this one: dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/28160-guide-how-to-set-up-your-graphics-properly/ I haven't tried it myself but my friends game in general has sped up, quicker server joins and easy 10fps increase and better stability, though again I doubt the fps and stability are too much of a problem for you. -
I have shot people before for no reason, and i regret my ways. If my group think its appropriate to kill I tend to hang back, watch events unfold, and if I'm shot at I will blow their brains out xD But even if I see a geared out guy, I'll only shoot if my life is in risk, normally I'll drop and watch him pass by. I wish there was a thing like the old humanity meter making it easier to judge whether or not to take the shot, I tend not to chat, and so do others because of the fact your just giving yourself away at less than 50m from him/her. Town chats would be much better and combined with the idea of humanity meter again with changing appearance it would be easier and less morally challenging to gun someone down in cold blood because of their past and chances of lying. But overall I think people need to keep their fingers off the triggers and learn to trust! But either way, If I see another group or clan, I'll gun on sight. After the last encounter my group of four had with a clan of ten I was the only one too get away as I was already halfway on a trip to the Zelen supermarket when the shots rang out!

Yes, I was the one that helped him hide it xD
-
Why did you hide it so badly in the first play?
