Killing in self defence at Stary Sobor tents
Densehavoc replied to leemo1984@googlemail.com's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
If you understand that the crosshair is misleading and where the actual shot lands, firing in 3rd person is better in quick draw situations. Also he killed the guy who got a shot on him first so it was all fine here. Obviously, some weapons need to be fired down the iron sights (FN FAL comes to mind) but if you know what you are doing 3rd person isn't total shit. -
Please, DONT add a bandit-indicator in this patch
Densehavoc replied to JulieMeyers's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
But I don't do it for my muders/bandit kills to go up. I really could care less. Just because a couple of really bad bandits do it to see their murder score go up doesn't mean everyone thinks that way. I see equally geared groups and my group wants to engage them because it's a thrill to take down a group of people. It feeds a group mentality and allows us to accomplish something that individually we might not be able to. Vehicles are easy to hoard, zombies are retarded and aren't a threat to a group of 2+ as long as there isn't any other bandits around. What else is there to do besides hunt other players? Edit: Fixed a couple of typos -

I skipped to the end after reading a couple of posts, and I'm going to paraphrase rocket here. Rocket says that people become heroes because they do the right thing. The right thing is very rarely the easy way. So trusting people in this game right now is really difficult, yes. But thats the point, in a real apocalypse you aren't going to be buddy buddy with everyone you see. Some people will kill you on sight because one less person near them means that much more percentage of a survival rate. However the people who are medics in this game or who do give the fresh new spawns basic gear, that is otherwise hard to come by without having to go balls deep in cherno, are fairly revered in this game. Does everyone want this game to become kittyland simulator 2012? If you keep making it to where people are easier to trust and it becomes less about the tension of meeting someone new that you don't know then next thing you know we will all be running around killing zombies with very little to no conflict at all. Or maybe people do want it to become completely PvE centered. Sounds like a really boring game to me though. -
Sometimes if you log out and log back in later it will reset you with your gear etc.

So you can get the car more than likely. Seems kind of obvious imo

What can i get for a bizon with 5 mags?
Densehavoc replied to feffez's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This gun is so bad for pvp it defies logic. Been killed with it against someone with a post nerf m1911, and I'm a pretty good shot as well. -
Dayz guns - what changes could guns use? My opinion.
Densehavoc replied to Cyanide_Power's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Snipers =! anything with a CCO/ACOG scope. Snipers are the following: CZed 550, DMR/M24, AS50, SVD, and M107. -

Densehavoc replied to Cyanide_Power's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
In that case, the only sniper left is the CZed 550 which is no more than a Lee Enfield with a scope and zero-ing. If you want to remove L85s, fine. I still think L85s are needed and are already pretty rare to begin with but what does that matter I guess. -

The parts is BOLD ITALIC AND UNDERLINED show where you say in your own post to remove snipers from the game. The parts in different text colors are where you show that you don't snipe because "spamming" with any sniper is a good way to fail. Guess I'm 'butthurt' for tearing your post apart. -

You know what, I was going to show you where you said you wanted to take them out but I really just don't care enough to get trolled right now. -
Need more matches/refillable lighters
Densehavoc replied to JamesButlin's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
In my experience, no. A couple of my friends complain about them being rare. Then again, I am perfectly okay with searching around cherno/elektro a little longer to find some matches if I need to go on a long travel north after spawning so maybe I'm just an expect not the rule/ -

Your typo's are as well. Also, it seems you have nothing to say about my post's content and instead decided to insult my intelligence. I will just assume that you have no solid rebuttal. But really, remove snipers? I guess you are going to call me a CoD babby next. Here's another reason why removing snipers is a bad idea: LMGs will all of a sudden appear in abundance because no way does an M16 or AK stand up to an LMG in medium to short range. Do we remove those as well? Don't you think if LMGs started getting overused that this game would feel more like an fps and less like a zombie apocalypse than it already does? Oh wait you are a "real" man and only fight hand to hand... -

SIgh, more carebears whinning about getting sniped as usual. Snipers aren't going to get removed no matter how much you cry. Run in tree lines, stay away from peaks on hills, never go anywhere near cherno/elektro/other high pvp areas without scouting them first. Also snipers in general aren't exactly handed to you in spawn. They seem numerous now because of hackers but in reality they are hard to find in game. Your post seems well thought out but I really couldn't care to read the rest past the suggested "remove snipers". If you are complaining that much about them than you havent used one because it's not like halo 2 sniping. It's actually got a fair amount of skill from finding a good spot that won't give you away as soon as you shoot your first shot to actually hitting your target. -
Have my beans. All of them.
-
No worries, chances are you won't have to worry about me killing you seeing as I doubt you have been as far as Zelengorsk. Also nice rebuttal there, first you have no comeback so you try to call me a CoD babby, then you go on and try to say you think your way to play DayZed is better than mine. Which is completely opinion but I guess you live in a world where if you don't get your way you cry and scream and call all those around you "little kids". Sound familiar? If you want to kill zombies all day and sit in cherno and horde c-tier loot, be my guest. But don't call me a CoD babby just because I enjoy killing something that isn't controlled by AI. As I said in all my posts. Me and my friends have fixed up vehicles and have all the loot we could ever possibly want. I have given solutions to the problem at hand, which is there is too much killing of players for a survival game (though I think killing the players is a part of the survival, one less person to worry about but hey according to you I am a 15 year old with no brain cells). If rocket adds more support for clan vs clan warfare, I will be the first one to support it. But until then if you happen to crawl off the coast expect to get shot at.
-
Oh I see, so now I am dumb? Alright I guess. You think I just sit on the coast and camp? I am an equal opportunity bandit. If you are armed I will more than likely try to kill you. I also kill clans who go to the NWA. That's probably where I hang out most anyway. And what do you determine to be "playing like a real bandit anyway"? A bandit is someone who kills other bandits and sometimes survivors for sport, sometimes loot. But most people who are fully geared don't need the loot from Stary Sober kills anyway. So what else do I do? Kill zombies all day? What fun is that? If you can't handle getting killed for sport than this game isn't for you. Until the zombies get much more frightening or until rocket adds some sort of meta game, this mindset is here to stay.

Yep, a video game determines my maturity as a person in the real world. You sure hit the nail on the head there pal. You even went to great lengths to not even quote my entire post. I am greatly offended by this because the parts you left out explain why I enjoy griefing people, to make people mad and to feel them get angry. If more people worked together and didn't KOS, then maybe I would try to help more people. But right now anytime someone see's me get near them and they see I am heavily geared, they either kill me to take my gear or they kill me because they panic. But because I don't play the game to kill zombies all day you call me immature? Yeah, that's pretty wrong.
-
The smoke gernade might have only one person, which is to distract zombies, but it is invaluable at times. Same goes for other itmes, sometimes having one purpose makes it an item that is sought after. Trust me, get some smoke gernades and use them to clear out waves of zombies from the streets and you will wonder why you never did it before
-
Wrong. I kill people because I know it makes people like you angry. Also I am 20 and take offense to the little kid comparison. I tried the whole kill only zombies and help everyone I see but it's really just not fun sometimes. Sometimes I want to hear people rage over the VOIP as I am running up to finish them off as they try and frantically prone away. Sometimes I want to just watch as someone dies at the end of my scope and they lose all their hard earned loot. That feeling is something that can't be felt on any other game because dayz is the only game I know of (besides hardcore D3 but that's boring) that completely strips you of your loot when you die. The PvP is an aspect of the game that is here to stay unless zombies start spawning in woods where bandit clans hang out (which I would be fine with).
-
This. Also it's a nice pvp change. Before if someone was camping and they shot you chances were they killed you due to bleeding/broken bones/getting knocked out if not just out right dying. Now you have a chance to put up a fight. Just because someone gets a jump on you doesn't mean they should always out right kill you. Also with the zombie changes it makes firing a weapon to clear out zombies a much harder choice over just sneaking past them.

Removal of Sniper Rifles and Silenced guns.
Densehavoc replied to necroslord's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Take away snipers and LMGs automatically become extremely abundant. You may not get the "Dying from a distance problem" that you have now with LMGs, but the problem of being supressed and sprayed will make this game even more CoD like. Stop crying about getting sniped because it happens to us all. Also, in my group of 5 we have one sniper. This one sniper has saved us from so many rival bandit ambushes and has also been able to scare off potintial lone wolf bandits as soon as they hear the weapon. And really, remove silenced weapons? It's not like they are easy to find and they hit really soft unless it's a headshot which most dayz players have trouble lining up anyway. -
I have a similar story; I was running from cherno to elektro to meet up with a friend. I had a kobra with like 11 mags and an M16 in my bag for back up. While running someone with an LMG guns me down. I got mad and hit the abort button to respawn. Of course it spawns in me Kameka, the place I hate the most. So running north from Kamenka I get to about zelengorsk when a zombie breaks my legs. At this point I am ready to find rocket and break my foot off in his arse. My friend, who had planned on meeting me in the NW airfield, decides to meet up with me and patch me up. After I am able to run again we run northwest-ish to Green Mountain to check for vehicle spawns. The entire time I'm telling him that there is no way the vehicle spawn is there but once we got there, the white off-road vehicle was sitting right there for the taking (After some scavenging for tires atleast) Eventually, we went and also found an ATV. From now on I will always play when spawned in to Kamenka. Tl;dr the DayZed God's smile upon those who complain!
