Just read this thread and had to point something out. Op mentions turning gamma and bright up which is fine if he wants to do that, but turning up HDR (Lololol at this) will not make things brighter, it's only affecting the quality (in bits, 8, 16 or 32) of the HDR....lolz ummmm sure, if you call horrible blue and white blotches everywhere "normal"

For starters I would need to know what server you are playing on, as I'm in Australia, which also has the added problem of time zone difference etc. Actually, I think I'll stick with finding other players via Ausarma as that's working well so far. Hopefully you find some good teamies you can trust though, so good luck :)

This would be an EPIC fail and would totally remove the unkown element of this mod, which is part of what makes it so bloody good! This is obvioulsy coming from someone used to Counter-Strike or something, where you know exactly who your enemies are. We want none of that in DayZ sorry dude....

Not sure about shoot on site, I don't tend to do that on the webz. But perhaps shooting on SIGHT would be a good idea in the game :D

Dont give up, sounds like you havent even played yet? There have been a lot of issues in the last 24 hours so you just picked a bad time unfortunately.

That sums it up pretty good. Someone with a high tier gun + alice or coyote is not going to stop and ask if you want some beans. Either stay hidden or pop them if you have no choice. They are definitely gonna pop you and not risk losing their gear. Well I understand and agree with most of this, but of course there are always exceptions to the rule. I came across some guys in the fire station in Cherno, I only had a revolver on me. I hailed them via direct and asked if I could approach, saying "you guys aren;t going to shoot me right? I have no loot" they said "no, we won't" (the kind voice made me believe it too). So I went in, and there were 3 guys, 2 of them banding together, the other on his own. The 2 guys buggered off, but the other guy-let me follow him for a while. He was armed to the teeth withy a GUILLE suite and everything. He even bandaged me when I was bleeding without me asking! This was my first and only form of teaming up with anyone so far, and it only lasted 5 minutes, as the sniper suit guy wanted to go off on his own (probably didnt trust that I wouldnt shoot him in the back I suppose which is fair enough) but it was great to get some co-operation and help! Thanks whoever you were However, I still believe it is better to be very, very cautious. I would really like to play with one other person, just 2 of us, but I dont have any mates who play DayZ so I guess I'll just wait until I meet someone who I get along with

Sometimes I spawn as a Crow! It's fun flying around over Chernarus lol

I don't care if i respawn and lose what I had, I'll just be glad to be able to play :) Do whatever you have to guys :)

OH and something I forgot to report. Yesterday during the DDoS attacks, when the serv ers were back up for a short time, I died several times, but when I respawned I was back to just before where I died and still had all my equipment.....

SO we have an ETA, awesome. Now I don't have to keep trying to get on for the next few hours. THanks for the update!

Not back to normal, 30 min ago this was posted on front page of Dayzmod.com "dayzdevteam The servers will be unavailable for a few more hours, due to a maintenance on the Hive, ETA is around 4 PM GMT time. "

Same here, Western Australia. ALL of Australia having problems, as I have been on many many servers tonight and everyone stuck on either "waiting for char...." or "waiting for Host..." Hope we get an update soon, cheers Rocket & Team

I'm playing DayZ and loving it, but then I'm not limited like you are, I actually know how to install mods :)

Ignorance is a bliss. I want it now. There were zero 1.7.1 US servers left this night and it's going to take few more hours before german servers have sunlight on them. Personally I consider 1.7.1.5 unplayable. Yes it would seem you have the experience to say "ignorance is bliss". You want it now? Well boo-hoo. 1.7.1.5 is working fine. Yes it has glitches it's an alpha for crivens sake! It's totally playable. You need a little amount of PC knowledge but most experienced gamers who are used to difficult installs have no issues whatsoever. If you find it that hard just get the SiXDownloader; That program exists precisely for people that aren't so PC savvy (and thats not a put down) so again what's the issue? It's an alpha. It's not expected to work 100% all of the time. It's a work in progress. I was playing all last night, and the night before and the night before. Yes it's hard to get on a server sometimes, because there are far more players than Servers. That will change over time. I wish common sense were actually common in this age. I call a vote to change this term to "uncommon sense" :D EDIT: Not sure why I'm even responding now I see your sig. Can't really imagine someone who hates whales and dolphins could be a half decent human being.

Hi Rocket & Team and everyone else who deserves a hello (ie not the whingin poms)! Firstly this is my first post and though I doubt Dean will read this due to the high amount of negative posts in this thread, I want to express my sheer joy and gratitude in regards to DayZ. I absolutely love it! I have some interesting Ideas on some additions to the mod, but that's for a later discussion. ROCKET YOU FRIGGIN ROCK!:) Everybody needs to just chill out. The patch is pending and obviously they are hard at work working on it. Wouldn't you rather they work on the patch? OR would you prefer they sit around typing replies to all the immature, aggressive, nasty, negative, ungrateful and downright disrespectful Forum Posts? Those who realise how commited Rocket and Co are to this project aren't worried. The only ones bitchin' and whingin' around here are the "I want everything NOW damnit" generation. Patience is a virtue (which not many seem to have nowadays ) Regards
