    Different player inventory system

Alright, so a player spawns on the coast today. They're wearing civilian clothes with some sort of MOLLE vest that acts as the player inventory. What I'm suggesting is that a player has to find that MOLLE vest and the pouches that attach to it. There would be different types of vests that would be able to carry different amounts of pouches, thus changing the amount of items a player could carry on their person (meaning not in a backpack). Rather than having a fresh spawn not have any inventory space, they would have ~4 slots that would act as their clothing pockets. Just for photo examples: Basic MOLLE vest, giving the player 4 places to attach pouches, allowing 4 inventory slots. Mid level MOLLE vest, giving the player 8 places to attach pouches, allowing 8 inventory slots. High level MOLLE vest, giving the player 16 places to attach pouches, you know the drill. Players would need to find pouches to attach to the vests which would be mildly rare. There would be 2 different types of pouches, one for storing magazines and one that's essentially just a pocket which normal items would be stored in. These vests would not provide any kind of protection from bullets, they would just be the inventory. Backpacks would function as they usually would. This would probably have to wait until standalone, but a man can dream. Thoughts?

    Different unconscious timer overlay

What you described is not "unconsciousness." If a person could see and hear then wouldn't you think they could run as well?
  4. I don't particularly like the hourglass timer. I believe it should be replaced in the sense that when you get knocked out, the screen immediately goes black and audio cuts. Debug monitor and icons stay so that the player doesn't think the game crashed, but the player cannot see or hear what's going on. Instead of an hourglass counting down, the black screen fades away and audio fades back in. Thoughts?

    DayZ Stories

Well I've got two fairly short stories. The first one: One of my first lives after getting Day Z working. I didn't really know much about the game and had no idea where I had spawned. I ran to the west and I now know I was heading towards Cherno. I stopped off at a small town outside and very soon after was spotted by some of the locals. They chased me for a while until I saw a barn. One door was blocked by a wire fence, so I ran around back and straight behind some boxes before diving to the floor. Not long after I noticed a woman with a hatchet laying prone on the ground in front of me. "Friendly?" I asked her. She didn't respond. We sat in silence as I stood on edge, fearing that she may decide to hack and slash me to pieces. I said in chat how to talk and soon after she responded "Thanks." She told me that she had broken legs and was losing a lot of blood. I asked her if she had any bandages. She said no. Feeling like being nice, I gave her one of mine. She bandaged herself up and told me she was going to die of dehydration. I quickly took up the task of finding something for her to drink. I ran out of the barn and in a nearby house I found two cans of pepsi. I returned to the barn and gave her one. She didn't drink it. I was saddened to see "You might as well just kill me with the axe" pop up in the chat box. I explained to her how to respawn without me having to kill her, and soon she did. I felt pretty good about helping her. Soon after I was ripped to pieces by zombies. Oh well. The second one: Me and my cousin finally met up outside Elektro yesterday. I logged off for a while and when I came back he told me that he had broken his legs. He had a crowbar as a melee weapon. I checked the wiki on how to fix a broken leg and learned all about morphine and where to find it. We agreed to go to the hospital in Elektro to grab some auto injectors and other medical supplies. I had trouble finding the hospital and kept getting chased by zombies. In an attempt to get the zeds off my ass, I ran to the yard where my cousin had crawled to. They attacked him. I heard him laughing and yelling "COME GET SOME" chat. He killed them all with the crowbar. I kept leading the zombies that chased me to him and every time, with broken legs, he killed every single one of them. Later I got boxed in by the bastards in a house and got beaten to death. He's still alive. I got him some morphine this past life and I'm gonna give it to him when he gets on later. He's the damned Gordon Freeman of Chernarus.

    DayZ/ARMA Causing Framerate issues.

I'm having this same issue. I installed ArmA II and OA with Day Z, got on and had a bad framerate. Decided to play a different game (Amnesia:The Dark Descent) and was getting ~15 fps. Normally I get 30 to 60 fps in that game. I really hope this issue can be resolved as I would really like to play Day Z considering that I just dropped $30 for Combined Ops on Steam.
  7. Hello, I followed the instructions provided and it worked. But here's the catch; I can't see any trees, buildings, grass, etc. Before I came to this thread I had been having framerate issues but I could see the buildings and trees, just not myself. Any advice? I can give a screenshot if needed.
