If zombies were allowed to swing while they were running, everyone's life expectancy is gonna be around 30 minutes since zombies run a whole lot faster then we do. Seriously, that would be ridiculously, if not, impossibly hard to survive...

This happened to me as well, a zombie appeared out of nowhere and spear tackled me to death.

Started walking north west in hopes to find an airbase or something to get military grade equipment, ended up in a barren mountainous land with no trees just a shit load of mountains. This area is ridiculously massive for an area with absolutely nothing in it, been 2 hours so far with one hour spent walking and the other hour spent riding a bike (found a random area with a bunch of bikes, cars, etc and 3 dead bodies). I now have no fuel on the bike and was riding for an hour south west in hopes to get close to the coast line or see a tree or something. Where the hell am I?

I'm not gonna respawn in another server to get out, got myself in this mess and im gonna get myself out. Anyways, first time I saw a bandit camp, and first time I rode in a vehicle so not a bad journey. Going to head south east as Timmy mentioned, hope I have enough to drink and eat:p

So how do I get back to the map then? I've just been running south west but it's just mountain after mountain after mountain :/

Lol, yesterday I started a game fresh and found 2 other survivors. I tried talking to them via mic but they either didn't have a mic or they were both in a party of their own and I was just tagging along. Anyways, we manage to find some supplies and we each got a hatchet to ourselves. We make our way inland following a dirt path and we come across a barn where things start to go wrong. A zed starts running up to one of us and we manage to take him down, but then another came along and with him another, and another. We start hacking one after another until we manage to kill all of them with one of the survivors obtaining a broken leg. I thought this was the perfect opportunity to take both of them out incase we come across a gun resulting in one of us obtaining ultimate power over the rest. So when the standing survivor turned around, I hacked him to death and turned around to the other survivor barely crawling his way out. I start slowly walking towards him with the bloody hatchet on my right, the bloody remains of the former survivor dripping from the blade, forming a red trail behind me. I could tell the other survivor was in a state of shock and panic, as he desperately attempted on swinging his hatchet whilst crawling from a distance. After numerous attempts of vigorously bashing the air, I waited for an opportunity of completely stillness, right after another attempt in hopes to bash my skull in, I swung my hatchet and decapitated the poor mans head. It's a harsh world out there...

Completely agree with you OP, but the best thing that ever happened to PC was the Baldur's Gate series:)

I'm a new Day Z player, and after playing for a good 10-20 hours, I've slowly come to the conclusion that most of the ingame content such as zombies and loot is mainly found in cities/towns along the coast. Is this true? I've explored the mainland rather abruptly but comparing it to the contents found along the coastline, it seems like it's a waste of time to go further inland. Is this true? Or am I just bullshitting myself:rolleyes:

Being a new arma/day z player, I'm finding it very difficult to communicate with others via the ingame chat system. If I'm not mistaken, I have to switch the channel to direct, and press / to chat right? However, no one seems to respond, I'm starting to think the / command is to prompt up the command console rather then an inbox to chat ingame. Aside from using mics in skype and what not, is there any other way to communicate with fellow survivors?

Hey guys, I'm a fairly new Day Z player and am looking for players to play with and/or even clans to join. I don't have a mic as of now, however if there are a host of people willing to band up and play on a regular basis I can just acquire a new mic within minutes.

Hey guys, so whilst Arma 2 is installing, I have a few questions regarding the game. How does communication work? are the chat servers global or just around your local vicinity? Does the same apply for voice communication? Is there a built in voice communication system?
