Fail OP: DCs to avoid death, posts looking for help on forums. After he ACTUALLY GETS A REAL LIFE PERSON GOING TO HELP, he then goes to bed instead -
so today, my friend messages me saying that he broke his leg in Rog Castle. Why didn't he just respawn? I don't know. I was around the deer stands at Bor, so decided I'd try to help him out. I ran all the way to Cherno, refilled on medical supplies, and long story short, ended up finally making it an hour and a half later and saving him. I'm still pretty new and got lost a couple times, but I ended up making it for him in the end. Anyone else?

not really anything impressive about killing tons of noobs. It's incredibly easy; you just have to be patient. Now bandit kills? Rack up 50 kills of those (people who are actually capable and have a weapon), and I'll be impressed. -

Hey so instead of starting a new thread I thought I'd just bump a new one. I've been playing for 2-3 weeks, so I'm still pretty new but I'm finally figuring my way around the world. Is there any group of survivors I could meet up with? Or is there anyone more experienced here who wouldn't mind having someone relatively new to run around with? -

I was north of cherno a couple days ago, fresh spawn, no weapons. Saw this sniper in a ghillie suit, snuck up behind him and stole four Pepsi from his pack. His friends noticed and started shooting at me, and I ran all the way home safe :) -
I'm not sure who I dislike more, the people who post complaints without looking up any guides or anything about how to play the game, or the elitist "hardcore" veterans with their gaming superiority complex

14 shots to kill another player is just idiotic. Might as well just chase them with a hatchet, or pretend you're shooting rubber darts. If you want to make PvZ harder, why not just give zombies a buff to health? That way you don't fuck over PvP as well

I'm fine with how this affects PvZ, but in PvP people won't have a chance without military grade weapons, which is pretty lame.

Having the same problem, except with a worse computer. (single player still gets 40+ FPS no problem, though.) I think it's a server side problem, or something with the optimization of DayZ itself. Hopefully it will be better by the next update

I tried turning my computer off and on, tried optimizing my settings, and defragged the hard drive. Still around 10fps, while I get 40+fps easily in single player

I have this exact same problem, and have tried all of the fixes you did as well. I'm usually around 15 FPS on good days:(

I have a similar problem. Try a few tweaks. In single player Arma 2 I get 40-50+ FPS no problem. There's somehow a problem with optimization with the mod that will hopefully be improved next patch. Search the forums for more tweaks (they may or may not help), try switching servers until you find a good one (this can help A LOT), wait it out.

Game freezes, then horrible FPS

Don't put your settings on "Extra Low" or "Low," as this causes the game to use CPU rather than GPU. Put the settings on "Normal" for best results. Chances are that you may even be able to set the graphics at Very High and see no difference--you might as well have the better quality. Keep switching servers is the main fix. Try Arma 2 singleplayer. If that works fine, then you know it's the DayZ mod/server optimization that's causing problems.
