If you're solo or with one other friend you'll get killed within 10 minutes of having a vehicle. Vehicles just bring attention to yourself and unless you are well equiped to defend yourself ie 4-5 people with decent gear you should avoid using them at all costs.

Hello! I started playing DayZ back in April. I was playing with a large group of people but most of these guys no longer play. I stopped playing for a couple of months but recently got back in to the game. I'm certainly no noob but seeing as I haven't played in a while there have been lots of updates with new features etc I have yet to learn about. Anyway I'm 25 from UK, have a mic and just looking for a group of people to survive with that play together on a regular basis. Give me a shout if you want to team up! :)

LOL it's good to see people have their priority's straight. Why don't you watch some vids on youtube, there are some pretty good 3/4 day mini series already up well worth watching.

I noticed the addition of leader boards for the longest survivor and most Z's killed etc. I think it would be cool to see a leader board for the most inhumane and the most humane players. I think it would add a nice aspect to the game play if the most inhumane player joins the server and everyone is trying to hunt him down.

Humanity is an abomination which has to go. And your approach requires "newbie mode" being enabled and you are being able to spot people not by seeing them but by scanning over them with your mousewheel in action. You don't need "newbie mode" you just hold any bandits at gunpoint it's up to them to convince you that they mean no harm. Any way given the fact it's impossible to tell people apart (apart from bandit skin/ survivor skin) so I wouldn't exactly call it "newbie"..... If your news channel was to show a picture of a serial killer on the loose I'm sure you would recognize him should you come across them. Maybe they just need to tone down the range at which a name is displayed.

Will the days get longer as we enter summer? it seams like it's just set to 12 hours of day and 12 hours of night atm.

I think a few people I play with were talking about setting up an EU based server as we have a dedicated server that's doing nothing atm. Not sure about the server specs but I do know it's high end and has 32GB Ram and no bandwidth limit. Normally we can run a 100 player server with no lag issues. I'll speak with them again tonight and hopefully we can all agree to get this server running.

In my experience the North is just as hostile as the South the only difference being the people up North have better equipment. My group was shot at up North a couple of nights ago, luckily we escaped then ambushed them without taking any casualty's. PVP in the South is pretty stupid IMO 90% of the players have just spawned and the only thing you'll gain is some beans, the other 10% are guys with long range rifles sitting on top of buildings waiting for players to kill. The safest are I have come across is the North East.

Me and a friend found a car last night. Try the gas station about 1km north west ish of green mountain.

What would really happen is that you'd either crash and die horribly or a few players would get jealous and light you up for having the audacity to have repaired a car :D! I know that if I saw someone in a vehicle the first thing that I would like to do would be to try and kill them and steal it. Well if you're going to die, might as well do it in style xD

Me and a friend found a vehicle last night next to a gas station near Green Mountain so keep an eye open for them there. If you can get in the vehicle it's repairable as said above. I kind of think it would be funny to race down the streets of Cherno at night blasting your horn and alerting Z's only to escape and leave the players in that area shi***ng themselves lol

PVP makes being stealthy even more important. I like the pvp aspect to this mod, it keeps it interesting, having to avoid people when you hear gunshots.. or find them and decide if they are friendly or not, the suspense is what makes this mod awesome. Without pvp I think I would get bored of this after a couple of weeks, but with pvp this is a mod I will be playing for some time.

Same thing happened to me last night. Just in case it happens in future head 2km East and you'll find Kamenka. If you dont have a compass keep the ocean on your right side and follow it till the road.

Yeah same, I get shot at all the time for being a bandit. Every time I have killed someone it's always been a case of them shooting at me first.... Even though my humanity is -5000 lol :O I'm at the point now where I just avoid contact with other people outside my group, if someone does approach me I'll sure as hell shoot them if they look a threat, bandit or not. If I get shot at I will try to get hidden then ambush the person and kill them. As a bandit though I just see myself as a target now, people are starting to team up just to take out bandits without even attempting to find out if they are friendly or not, I guess that makes them the real bandits.

I love the PVP aspect to this mod, I dislike the fact that new players are shot at almost immediately. It would be cool if some spawn areas were safe zones from pvp, that way you can at least plan an escape from the small village. So last night I was traveling to Green Mountain with 3 friends to meet a few more, just south of the mountain we started taking sniper fire while looting a barn. I got shot but we managed to take cover and get bandaged up then make a run for it. As we traveled to Green Mountain a couple of guys were talking in chat about how they shot at us because 2 of our group were bandits. We explained that we were friendly and only had the bandit skins due to having to defend ourselves so much. The chat continued on public for 20 or so minutes..... They decided they were also going to take a look at the tower at Green Mountain, so seeing as we were there we set up an ambush, waited for them, then killed them lol I don't normally like having to kill people but this just felt good since they shot at us. That's why I love the pvp aspect so much. Stay in large groups and stay as silent as possible.... best 2 tips for this mod.

I run in a group of 9/10 people most of the time there is at least 6 of us playing. We just recently started playing this mod and quickly got addicted to it. We often play on the US1/2 servers. If anyone is interested let me know so I can consult the group and we can meet up at chernarus :)
