Hi admins, since a few days we get the following error on our vanilla server. The server gets a timeout when it connects to the hive resulting in a crash of the server. We reinstalled everything twice. Hive log: 2013-07-24 13:37:45 HiveExt: [information] HiveExt ****************2013-07-24 13:38:06 HiveExt: [Error] Timeout It only works after a couple of restarts. Please advise.

I would like to discuss a way to make the game more into night time play. a.) it is realisitc b.) 24/7 daytime should be optional, in my opinion these servers should also be on a different database How to force people into same visual modes, e.g. all have shadows, clouds etc. As it is by now, people turn up gamma, switch of clouds, shadows etc, in order to get a "grey scale" vision. Fair enough, but it should not be that way... How to archive this: a.) Force server to set time by database b.) remove option to turn of clouds (though unfair for lowpowered user equipment) c.) force at least the minimum settings to maintain the visiual effects Just my 5 cent of opinion. There is something that is called eyefinity or surround plus headtracking devices... Anyway.

Guess its just me that misses the full servers with nighttime ...

Yeah, actually I feel let down by the dayz team. I host a official dayz server for more than a year. Not even an approach to give is first chance to host. Now they work with moneymaking providers (300+ servers) yeah, beat that. Thanks for letting us host ... for freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :)

Hopefully they change time to be set from database and not locally ...

I agree with you. We are hosting for more then a year an official dayz server (DE 635) ... fair enough to give those who do this official hosting to get a chance to host it ... kind regards AdminZ - DE 635

Nice update. For some reason we do not have night times. Was it removed? I even changed the hiveext.ini to use local time. But still day at night. Is this on purpose?

We have noticed the same thing. If server connects to hive, sometimes the items do not load into the server. Requires another restart ... gamble for hive error . Vehicles for some reason do not respawn ...

I bet with the close release to the SA they do not bother anymore with dayz for arma ... Well I only hope there will be a fix soon.

There is only one official hive for vanilla. This topic is about the hosting of the server, not about players joining the server.

Hi, did anyone of you hosters ever encounter an error where the server is not able to connect to the hive? Server was running for more then a year now without porblems, All of the sudden it gets hive timedout error resulting in the server to crash. Server did run once in 3 days now ... is it a problem on my end or on dayz hive? Could someone advise?

You need to get the new mission file ... that fixed it for our server DE 635
