    Random event possibilties/feedback.

    How about an airplane sent by some sort of civilization that drops a random cargo supply somewhere in the map (Parachute drop)? That would be a sick objective to grab the loot of that. Happens every hour unless no one has gathered the last supply drop (to prevent too many stacking in the map).
  2. I love the idea of allowing me to carry a hatchet instead of a pistol.
  3. The heart beat thing is pretty good because from far away you cant really tell through facial expressions and sound and pitch of the voice that the person means you ill. But with the heart beat feature it sort of represents that and when another player is nearby you can hear the heart beat which represents this player is a killer and must be shot on sight.
  4. If ammunition was scarce I would also save to kill players. Im not a bandit but my experiences in this game have taught me that players are more scary that zombies and are to be shot on sight. The less ammo I have the more I will save to kill other players. This is the fundamental truth to the matter.

    Survivor Camp

    Not talking about AI controlled camps. Just talking about AI guarded camps. If this were a MMO then sure you could probably get away with trading camps run and guarded by players but not with a handful of players. Who wants to stand around for hours guarding a camp when you can just have an AI do it and the players just come to trade goods and join other players. Ofcourse the place is still vulnerable to sniper fire or whatever so its not really safe. The only way to be safe as in real life is to take responsibility for your own safety. I think that this should atleast be tested and see how players end up liking or not liking. But as far as making it a completely safe zone, I disagree with that.
  7. Team Speak and Skype Just a random idea here that would make players more careful when speaking on those programs. Force the Direct communication chat as always on so that if a player is chatting with friends on skype he can be heard in game when near other players giving away his position like you would in real life. The only problem I see with this is that there would be echoes. But I wonder if it would be cool or not or if the echo can be fixed somehow. What I want to accomplish from this is to make players be more careful when speaking. In real life you cant just safely chatter away on a radio without being heard and avoiding all the eavesdropping. People can hear you speaking and might get in on your plans or whatever. Any thoughts?

    Here is how it can work. If you dont want to be heard you can mute the mic. The only problem I see is that there would be echoing. But I like this idea.

    more realistic zombies

    I like your idea but the thing is that we are not dealing with zombies but instead "infected". They are infected with a virus and are normal people. Secondly, the zombies are hard enough in numbers as they are. Looting a town is a huge risk now a days cause there's always the chance of getting pinned by zombies and a sniper all at once. Add to that, the ammo shortages and its just too much. IMO I think that the zombies are good as they are but that they need tweaks and fixes especially the wall glitch. I agree with the melee weapon as 1-2 hits KO. I think its already there though. It would be cool to have zombies trip sometimes when chasing you to help players escape.

    Too complicated imo.It would need an energy source and what are the chances that you can revive a player who was shot int he head and so forth? Its just too complicated to implement something like this and probably not worth the hassle. That's just my opinion though.

    When he says "Currency will never be implemented and guards have to be players" he just gave absolutely no reason other than stating it as a fact or something. What is wrong with that? Again I havent heard a good argument that would convince me that it is a bad idea. Rocket has specifically stated what exactly?

    Still dont understand what the logical argument is against NPC guarded towns but you guys are the experts I guess. Also dont see whats wrong with a fiat currency idea for trading. In real life, trading always leads to problems that are fixed by fiat money or a currency. Sure they may have had a trading camp hosted by players one time but thats it. Im guessing the people who pulled it off got tired of guarding a place for hours.

    I like the ideas. Here is my idea for a trading post/camp Trading Camps They have water source and are completely self sufficient. They accept items for trade and use a fiat currency(new item). Are heavily guarded by NPCs (maybe even an APC if necessary to deter bandits). Players can come and semi-safely trade here and meet other players to form groups. There is a bilboard that has the names of all known bandits with a bounty for them. Known bandits are shot on sight by the NPCs guarding the camps. The trading camps also carry military weapons like AKs for sale and they respawn such items every so often. This will open the door to more player to player friendly engagement and coop. Also open the door to a new objective of "Bounty hunting." The trading camp would use a formula based on supply and demand to establish prices for certain items. Rare items would be expensive or whatever. Introduce a new item "bandit head" to prove that a bandit was killed. If you are concerned that bandits cannot use the fiat money to their advantage you are wrong. A bandit player who has a survivor friend can steal money from his kills and give it to his buddy to purchase things for him at a trading post. This is a huge incentive not to become a "shoot on sight player" though because it still sucks not being able to enter a trading post. If you are tired of being a bandit then you can hit the "respawn" button. The main thing I that I would like to accomplish from the trading camp is cooperation and trade among survivors and an incentive not to become a shoot on sight player. The AI NPCs would be limited to gaurd a certain area and would not venture out ever and should pose a serious risk to any number of bandits trying to assault the place. This way bandits can still do hit and runs but cant just take over a camp. Some sort of respawning for NPC guards would have to be implemented. I honestly dont think this should be too hard to accomplish and would be fun to see.
  20. The wall glitchin does need to be fixed. There are a few things here and there I forget that need to also be fixed about the zombies. But the wall glitching is probably the biggest one alone with the zeds halting to a walk inside buildings.

    I dont know what it was like before but I agree that the zombies could use some work like not just go aggro cause they heard a foot step. But as far as being able to sneak around I do it all the time while looking at my back for bandits.

    It really doesnt matter what the setting is actually. American weapons are familiar to us and we enjoy using and looking at them. Why force all weapons to be russian origin just because of the map?

    I love the idea but good luck to the developers implementing something like it. Too difficult to code that and I dont think it is even possible in the Arma 2 engine.

    I think its retarded that everyone is going back and forth between COD and Arma2. Stick on topic fellas. I like the mods mentioned but as far as the green reticle, it needs to stay as well as 3rd person. Here are my reasons (after being on the apposite side of the argument). 3rd person view gives you the realistic perifil view that first person view takes away. Even though you cant peack around corners in real life (true), arma 2 is mostly about open terrain and forest where as a smaller area for urban. 3rd person view is more realistic in forests for the perfil view alone. As fas as the green reticle. When you shoot a real gun you can almost tell where it will hit and you dont have t obring the sights up all the way every time. This is especially true with sights like eotechs and such. Another point I would like to make is that the grass in this game only serves to block your sight not for concealment in this game. The green reticle helps balance that. I know ACE gives the option to turn those off or on but I fear that the adding soemthing like ACE would inevitably remove 3rd person and green reticles completely.
