Niemands "Cleaning a Village aka Settling down"
vision1776 replied to Niemand (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
zombie domination... Players start at a base with weapons, ammo, and vehicles. Then they go clean the map one city at a time. Increase zombie counts and pump up the fog. Now that would be fun. Side missions help you gain new vehicles and weapons. Turn off friendly fire and add vehicle respawns even for the ones you gain at side missions. That way you get 100% coop zombie sim. Instead of survival which can get old, you have a simulation of military vs zombie infestation. You can make the server night, day, extra fog etc to make more challenging. -
Final Solution for the Sniper Bandits
vision1776 replied to DevilDog (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I have been running around military bases and camps waiting for someone to try to snipe me. I have an M24 with 15 rounds and 2 years Arma 2 experience waiting to counter snipe so called "sniper bandits." PS: It would be cool if they could make a domination version for dayz where friendly fire is off and you HAVE to work together to reclaim towns. Pump up the fog, give the survivors a starting base with some weapons and vehicles, and let the survivors reclaim towns and cities from HORDES of zombies. You could also add "side missions" where smaller parties team up to search for food to bring back to base. -
Zombie hordes are a great idea. The only problem I see with them is that they will put strain on servers if you do too much. I thought of an idea that could help put more danger in the wilderness without straining servers as much. Let players who die become zombies and let said zombies gain additional AI zombie followers along the way. If the player dies as a zombie then they go back to being a survivor. Additional ai zombies join you when you enter cities and they follow you around to help you attack survivors and give you a hand while you search for survivors in the forests, the cities and pretty much anywhere. This way you have smart zombie hordes that keep you always paranoid looking around while you cook meat or enter cities.

Character locations are not saved. Whenever you join any server you must pick a spawn location on the map. Spawn locations are all the same for all servers and are chosen by the devs. They should not be limited to any city or coasts but there should be spawn locations in multiple areas throughout the map. To prevent spawn campers expand the radius of spawn locations or place mutiple choices in the same location. To prevent logging out while in combat, I suggest a 10 second time out in-order to leave the game. At the end of the 10 second time out your character saves so if you ALT F4 your character will not save. I feel that these are 2 reasonable solutions to a very disgusting behavior that is being abused by players who do not wish to engage in "Adrenaline Rush Confrontations." And please, Extend the radius of when zombies are triggered to spawn so that even snipers within shooting range will trigger zombies to pop-up at the city they are camping and watching. That way the zombie spawns will not give away information that other players have entered the city and alert snipers waiting.

A reasonable server hopping suggestion
vision1776 replied to vision1776's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Good point I agree. What about the 10 second log out action? I can see this hurting people who crash but at the same time helping the majority of the players. -
Blood regen would work. Increased regen speed when you stop and when you eat and drink? Eating food would temporarily increase the speed of your regen as well as drinking things. Stopping to rest and catch your breath etc. Im not saying that we need some super human blood regen but lets be real guys. Also add an action or animation at a hospital or military tent that allows you to recover all your life instantly but where you need a blood pack to do it. Also to make a little more realistic. When you are super low on blood your blood regens much slower. When you are pretty good on blood it regens faster. Why? Because the more cells you have in your blood the faster they multiply. When you are dehydrated or hungry your character should NOT be regenerating blood at all.

a stop to death-dodging(Alt+f4)
vision1776 replied to treva_l@hotmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
A 10 second logout would solve this problem. If your computer crashes well, you are out of luck. Your computer crashing is probably a bigger problem anyway. This has to be implemented. A 10 second logging out action which if it is not completed you loose all progress. This will probably be a headache for SOME players but for the majority of people it will be a huge FIX to the cheating going on this game. I know of some players that log out and then rejoin your server behind you. Logging out doesnt save your location. You have to choose a spawn location somewhere on the map (spread out all over the map not just the shores.) That way this ALSO abused system can be stopped. No more server hopping to reloot the same towns over and over. -
Poisonman's Crazy Idea / Wishlist Thread
vision1776 replied to poisonman's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The zombie groups or squads could be easy to add. The problem is that you would have alot of extra zombies roaming around for no reason lagging the server because the zombies would get lost on their own somewhere and wouldnt be too smart. I suggest that players who die regardless of how they died should have a 5 second respawn timer and spawn as a zombie. Sounds corny right? Wrong. Adding this to the game will make survivors hiding in forests think twice about getting careless since now you would never know when some smart ass player zombie will bring zombies to you by searching the woods or the lakes. This will add the increased paranoia to players regardless of where they are. Dead zombie players should be able to spawn other ai zombies for their squad which follow them around. This would be much more thrilling and weigh less on the server than having to spawn tons of ai zombies everywhere to accomplish the very same thing. What are we trying to accomplish? Paranoia and fear. Player zombies shouldnt spawn a group of ai zombies all at once but gradually increase in numbers in some way (insert ideas). Another thing I throw in here. For all those bandits sitting under a bush sniping other players, everytime they fire one of them loud ass rifles you should spawn zombies around them to could possibly hear further shooting. Like in the movies, shooting fire arms attracts unnecessary attention. That would make you carefully choose who to murder for loot and not just shoot everyone that passes by because it can create problems for you and your team to open fire all the time. By the way I love all these ideas, sadly Im not sure how possible it will be to make all these buildings enter-able in chernarus unless someone creates a whole new map with nothing but enter-able buildings. The whole tool belt ideas I also think are good as a temporary bandage to the problems we are facing. I also like the idea of not starting with a bag. -
The ONLY Realistic Way to Prevent Deathmatching: Make DayZ a Living Hell
vision1776 replied to Time Glitch's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Add zombie groups that have increased senses and roam from city to city hungry as hell. Starting fires, bleeding, shooting, driving can attract such groups. Add AI armed caravans or patrols that your team can ambush or avoid. Add the ability to retake cities like in domination (that will incentivize coop). Making bullets rare will provoke more PK. It is my opinion that when you have 5 rounds of sniper ammo it is better used sniping someone for their stuff rather than killing 5 out of 1 million zombies. Crawling around prone the whole time could get boring and frustrating too so lets not exaggerate the difficulties for survivors by taking away all their 2nd amendment rights or restricting them any further. -
Saw this in a zombie move recently. +1

Zeds (military and non) carrying weapons on them.
vision1776 replied to billyangstadt's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I think soldier zeds should drop camouflage. Dont see why we need to make camouflage so rare in this game. -
I dont see a problem with this suggestion other than it being almost impossible to program. How on earth would they know who is friends with who? I suggested the following idea already: Let players choose where to spawn on the map just like on domination.

Objective suggestion: finding your family
vision1776 replied to zmazly's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I like where the idea is headed. I also think there needs be some objectives for those of us that aren't bandits sitting in the tree line watching the north east air strip. I think it should be possible to reclaim towns from the zombies. That could be another excellent objective. -
I think ammo is already more than rare for me. I have 5 rounds for my M24 and cannot seem to find any more. Guess what I am saving that ammo for?

Simple Solution to Loot Farming via Server Hopping
vision1776 replied to ZedsDeadBaby's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I like the idea that your location is locked in to your current server and that server hopping will have you start in one of the re-spawn locations.
