  1. Doesn't fit DayZ. How would anyone know what you did beside yourself and those directly witnessing you doing it? -Magic. Why would a (para)military faction give away supplies (weapons, body armor, wtf?) they themselves would need to actually stay alive? -Magic. Can those NPCs be killed and if yes, why don't bandits just do that and get "all" their stuff? If those NPCs are not killable... -Magic I dont know..maybe its just me..but theres to much magic in this for me.

  3. 4 Deaths so far due to player induced hostility 1. -AKM- -mate forgot to cover my six in a supermarket 2. -.50 cal rifle- - we shot up some dudes in stary, then ran in the open field and got sniped from someone near the NWAF - our fault for not staying in cover 3. -Makarov- -didnt cover my six in a supermarket 4. -Crossbow- -didn't shoot first because i thought he was only a harmless Zed Hunter All those 4 deaths would have been avoidable had I/we not let down my/our guard. There is no need to reduce the "amount" of sniper rifles in the game. Fix the duping and you will get less sniper-death. Stay away from places where people with high-powered, long range guns are hanging out(NWAF, Stary, Cherno, Elektro) and you are less likely to get shot by one.

    I remember when i was attacked by three dudes, took two of them down before i finally succumbed to my wounds. For trying to fight for my life i get the reward of having to wait for 20 minutes to be able to play again. Fuck no.

    Loot also outside "Painted Door" Houses

    I have an even better suggestion. Make all buildings enterable unless they are plausibly barred (destroyed buldings, collapsed roof, on fire, space magic). Blowing the walls of these "filler" buildings out in the editor seems to show that they do have interior rooms, there just is no entrance. Im not sure if this is the case for every single building, but i guess there is something planned in that regard in the not so distant future. I just cannot imagine that these cardbox houses are meant to stay in the game the way they are right now.

    Grouping Feature

    As long as there are neither magical markers/status screens that show you the condition and whereabouts of your groupmates nor invulnerability(like disable friendly fire) I fully support grouping. Spawning together would be "convenient" but it really isnt that hard to find one another (either respawn till you are near each other or just meet at a predefined location).

    Group up "Tool"

    Part of DayZ appeal to me is the inability to discern my mates from other pepople, if i cannot see them properly. of course you know how someones face looks, but that doesnt help you in a kill or get killed situation, where you came under fire, are sneaking around the woods and can barely see the outline of someone crouched behind a bush. Magical markers to telepathically show you where your mates are do not belong in this game. Communication is key. It would be very nice of course, if we would get the ability to customize our characters. I'm not talking about the level of customization that APB offers(even though that would be kind of awesome), especially not the option for people to run around in their frickin underwear (unless they would take like 5 times damage and are 5 times more likely to break their bones - I fucking hate that shit)but at least some kind of selection for pants, upper body clothing, jackets/coats, boots, gloves and hats. That would make it more easy to make your character stand out compared to the random dude crashing your party. But please no magical wowified hivemind where you can always see where and in what shape your mates are - there is no need for this in Dayz.

I play DayZ with a few people, we know each other IRL andsince we started playing we have come to the conclusion that trusting *anybody* outside of our group is out of the question if we do not know of their intentions/reputation. This comes from the simple fact, that everyone of us has been killed by anyone who has crossed our paths, no matter of our status (armed/unarmed, bleeding out, fleeing from Zeds, etc). There are groups that i would not shoot on sight, like the Freeside Trading Corp, the team around Dr. Wasteland and the Walking Militia(if i recall their name correctly) but those are(at least i presume they are) US Groups/Clans, since im from the EU, there is no such thing on the servers I have been playing on. We will kill anybody that poses a threat to us, which basically means, anybody with a gun heading into the same general direction we do. And there are lots of situations where we run low on ammo..and especially in those situations (im currently running low on FN FAL mags) we tend to go outside of our way to dispatch of people wearing stuff that might have come from a crashed heli or the airfield so i have the possibility to restock on FN FAL ammo without having to go to these places. The less ammo you have the more you will tend to not openly attack and engage in long drawn out fisticuffs(with guns) but to ambush people and kill them with as little shots as possible as fast as possible so these confrontations are over before they knew what hit them. The thought that limiting supplies of *any* kind will make people cooperate instead of killing each other is outright delusional, especially when people are running around in groups (2+ people) because they literally don't need another mouth to feed that might backstab them in the end. I do agree that there should be more cooperation, but that goal cannot be accomplished by limiting supplies, Instead the goal should be to give players the ability to accomplish more (or live longer) when they work together, including all those really good ideas like making splints to mend broken bones, being able to carry/support wounded people to make them mobile again as well as the ability to build underground bunkers/safehouses or barricade buldings with wood. But until new options to really cooperate in the long term are introduced into the game, there will be no significant decrease in the KoS policy most people currently employ.

    Reserved Player Places for Clan Servers?

    Because that would make it possible for Clans to circumvent the whole point of the survival of the fittest gameplay(also called pvp) and enable them to get easily to the best lootZ with little to worry about. On such a server it would mean that the whole clan travels to the airfield, wipes out the small competition and then pick nice drapes so the NWAF feels a little more homely. Not to mention, that you could make an endless supply line of tents stocked with the best military grade gear and then just send out teams to other servers to troll the hell out of them, because dying means literlally just walking to the northern clan homestead with literally no opposition whatsoever.
  10. So introduce Bloodlust as a stat that despite what Bloodlust actually means increase your hunger and thirst instead of making someone crave killing more people? No. Just calling it natural doesn't make it natural. Killing someone makes you 1. regret it (for those with a conscience) 2. sleep less good (see 1. or 4.) 3. feel the recoil of the gun (for all those cold-blooded killers) 4. even more paranoid (somebody might want to avenge your victim) 5. feel empowered (you know since you took life away) 6. lose ammo (only if done with a gun) 7. sick (for those with a weak stomach) 8. give your position away (again only if done with a gun) 9. aggro Zeds in the Vicinity (see 6. and 8.) etc. pp. but it does not make you hungry or thirsty

    Airdrops/weapons

    Please dont. If you do, i would have to start asking myself where those magical airdrops might come from, and for what reason someone would go through the hassle to make an airdrop for empty tin cans. No, too gamey.
  12. Airdrops don't make sense, if you take a look at the Metagame. The highest pop servers I have seen so far have about 60-100 people on them, so thats ~80 people spread across 225km². Since most of the worlds population has been wiped out by the Zombiecalypse i seriously doubt that any still functioning Government or Paramilitary Post-Apo-Organization would be willing to spend the fuel, the Tech(Heli/Airplane), the resources or the manpower to make supply drops into a Zone with an unknown, if even existent, number of survivors that havent even been able to make contact with the outer world. People are killing each other in this game for a lousy pair of boots(well..if there were boots..we would kill each other for them) so I have to ask..why would anyone outside, with their own problems at hand(you know the Zombiecalypse) do something like that?

    You obviously don't get it. The less there is to gain in an area, the more safe it is, therefore Dubrovka, Petrovka and Gvozdno serve their purpose just fine. YES you don't *need* military gear to survive but if your main goal isn't to hide out in a forest where no other man has set foot before and never will, then it sure as hell helps a A LOT to have high powered, automatic weapons, NVG, Rangefinder and all that jazz to help counter bandit/survivor attacks. Your "Sniper Rifle in a Barn" or CZ550 as its more commonly called, is nothing compared to a military grade, long range rifle such as DMR, M24, SVD, or a .50cal. Does the CZ550 or an Enfield get the job done? If your target is within weapon parameters and player skill - then yes, of course. If you are happy with your Cherno loot and canned food, then please do whatever makes you happy and let us go north into the "most dangerous zone on the map". There is no reason to make 5+ posts with the same modus operandi over and over again. Like i said before - you don't get it. And thats just fine.

  17. For someone so adamantly not caring, you seem to posting an awful lot about this topic (100% of your postcount to be exact). Since you are frantically defending/trivializing their blatant disregard for the official rules(I really like rules!) you must be.. a) a loyal Yogscast fan B) incredibly bored c) a troll They would never survive a legit DayZ server even if they tried. So they show this garbage and lure in even more stupid kids with false promises into this game that will go on and cry about how hard and "unfair" this game is..or post great suggestions like..why not remove sniper rifles?, or the L85, or automatic rifles, its all so unfair! We already have enough of those here, don't we?
  18. nope, ridgedog is part of the Yogscast crew(serves as admin/tech-dude in many other productions) as well as any other names on the playerlist of that server. Its a private server, they were teleported around to get close to each other, and ridgedog is teleporting around in a ghillie suit stuffed full of medical supplies to help out. They may be using DayZ files but they sure as hell aint playing the same game we do..at least not according to rockets rules (no private servers, no admin "support" things like that)

    Build 1.7.2 Rolling Update

    Logged in found out I'm invisible (was wearing camo before) and able to do about anything, like running around Stary, the NWAF and shit, scared the crap outta some dudes, by running in circles around them( guess they could hear but not see me). Decided to hit respawn near Kamyshovo, to get rid of the Camo. New Character still in loading screen - I hear half crazed zombie sounds, when my screen goes from black to "i finally see stuff" theres about 4 Zeds running from all over to my spawn loc and beat the shit out of me - Dead. I respawn again somewhere else, same shit happened again..was half dead before I was even able to control my Character. Third respawn near kamyshovo, same thing, only the Zeds knock me out and then lose interest, i finally come to, patch myself up and realize that theres only 4k blood left, but decide to go on anyways, im prone and turn right towards a factory building to check for zeds - they get crazy all over again and start running at me from about 60-100m for no apparent reason - again. Dead. 4th Respawn, same spot, only this time, Zombies not present, i decide to get inside the factory in hopes of finding a hatchet. I'm "lucky" find a hatchet, equip and reload it (guess its still not fixed). i crouch up the stairs into a room, with a big window , euip a toolbox and see from outside the factory grounds a zombie is running like a Mofo from the train tracks, over the courtyard towards the factory and i think to myself "there has to be someone else around, he cant possible have been agroed by me, sitting still in crouch in the 2nd or 3rd floor inside a building about 150m away from that guy" Boy was i wrong. He ran through (yes inside the building) the ground floor and up the stairs like a frickin homing beacon inside the room im sitting in, and takes my axe to the face. About 5 Minutes later i find a M1911 and a few mags, when i hear it again, Zombies going batshit insane outside and running in, because they a) heard me through the building walls and the wall surrounding the compound B) have xray eyes and can see me through walls I shoot one, thinking "well they just take a bullet and im done with them" but hell no..first Zed takes 3 .45s to the chest then kind of sprints towarss me, hits me and dies immediately after. Second one takes the rest of the clip and about 2-3 from a second clip when all hell breaks loose and i get swarmed by 8-10 zombies. I run back, deeper inside the factory thinking "I'm dead." when i realize that turning around one corner, instantly makes them all lose interest. They all leave the factory but once outside they get aggro again and keep running from all over the place to the entrances of the factory..but instead of entering, they stay at the doorsteps. Well yeah..so far for my 1.7.2 experience

    Funny experiences playing DayZ with friends?

    First time finding a crashed helicopter with our squad, we were kinda reckless and i thought, whatever, I'll just shoot 2-3 zeds to clear the way to the wreckage, ended up having to shoot one Zed about 4 times with an AKM because of ..i dont reall know..bullet impact, blood splatter all was good - he didnt take dmg though..well anyways, 4 shots later, i see 4 Zeds coming towards me. I think hey no prob, then i see there are 7 Zeds running towards me and i call it out on TS, when im done i realize that there is a giant fucking pain train coming..i dont know where they all came from..but it was fcking hilarious! I felt like a dude getting charged by a football team because there were so many, we ran backwards, tried to pick em off, my brother said "fuck that" and starting going full auto into the crowd It was pure chaos, we thought we were done, but we managed to secure each others asses and after the slaughter there were about 40 dead Military zeds on the ground. And suddenly i realized that there still was a downed helo to loot and we had just alarmed every dude in the vicinity to that particular bloodbath..so we looted the hell out of it and ran foor the nearest forest, still not believing what had just happened.

    If it were possible to prevent hacking *ENTIRELY* as easily as you say, I'm kind of confident that the DayZ Team would have done so already or is doing so right now. Until that great day has come - kill...err I mean..ban those that hack right now, please.

    Bandit skins are gone because they didnt work as intended beside the fact that there is no logical reason someone should advertise their intentions by dressing up in a specific way.

    I dont think that this is the way to go, why would someone suddenly look different, because he is a sneaky backstabber/kills sneaky backstabbers? Besides the fact, that the whole system determining "what you are" would need a *serious* rework: - recognize returning fire as a non-hostile action - having the option to forgive friendly fire in squads/teams - making sure you are unable to circumvent the "murder count" by letting someone bleed out or if a random zombie happens to finish it off - somehow preventing that a true Serial Killer/Bat-shit-crazy paranoid Survivor who kills anyone on sight but happens to have killed more bandits than survivors and therefore becomes a symbol of trust(militia) ... and so on too many factors, too much work, too little to gain for either the game or the metagame TL, DR nah

    And in the Spirit of realism and to "try things out" lets make them have battery lifetimes like with a real nightvision, so all those meany campers can only use them for 60 frickin hours at a time, with automatic shutoff when not engaged, Brightness Control and Bright-Light Shuttoff so they can adjust how much they see and prevent them from getting temporary blinded by flares!! And btw I like running around through the wilderness, ergo all ground/naval/aircraft needs to be wiped from the game because they are lots and lots faster than me and can store 50+ cans of beans inside! Its only logical! ...   25. And how would you suppose to make that work? If rocket would be able to attach scripts to a freshly logged in player that counts down et cetera et cetera..that still would not affect *your* scouted and secured city/settlement at all, because the loot in that town would have been spawned by your presence. So that evil server-hopper would still be able to grab the lootZ and log out again. If I am wrong about the way loot spawns work here in that regard, correct me. If it was at least possible, my guess is that it would require an extensive workload to get it to work without inhibiting every other player that does not hop servers to get "the beans". It could just be me, but I think that there might be more pressing issues that need some attention. Like disconnecting to flee firefights, Zombies ghostwarping through obstacles, rampant murder without consequence or breaking a leg while running through a doorway.
