    Haven't met anyone ever shouting anything to me. I am too smart (or paranoid, whatever you wanna call it) to give away my position or announce my presence to any armed person. I would never do that..that is stupid, in my opinion. Please rest assured that I'm not mad ;) ..because I know that this will never get implemented. Aside from it being a direct interruption of the game-mechanics itself there are too many possibilities to exploit this depending on how it would be implemented(which it never will).

    Never going to be implemented, because of this and sweet baby jesus thank you for a game that finally doesn't hold my hand or tells me how to do things. This game is about survival, basic survival not zombie survival, not bandit survival. You want to shoot someone? Do it and deal with the consequences. You dont want to shoot someone? Do it and deal with the consequences. You want to group up? Do it and deal with the consequences. Rocket already said, that DayZ... - doesnt need millions of customers - will always have free4all pvp as a core mechanic - is meant to be impossibly dark and cruel - is meant to evoke fear, paranoia and frustration Therefore it is pretty safe to assume that none of these suggestions, that would greatly change/modify/prevent/punish the core mechanic of this game, is ever going to be implemented. This is not Left4Dead. This is not Chernarus Apocalypse. This is DayZ.
  3. No offense but all of your ideas are kind of gamebreaking and are most definitely never going to happen. A "sleeping character ingame while you are logged out..lol no. Never going to happen, you log out, you are most probably dead when logging in . This will never get implemented. Not to mention that scarcity of any kind will mean a massive increase in player killing. I dont consider myself a "bandit" but i will kill anyone that is armed enough to get me killed if they might choose so. with this implemented i would even go and hunt those without weapons..since its the only way to get..well anything. No sir.

    PvP and PvE servers (with a twist)

    Even though PVE servers are never going to be implemented since thats not a direction rocket wants this mod to go, lets say IF for arguments sake. If there were to be PVE only servers.. ..PVE Characters mustn't be able to join PVP servers ..Zeds should spawn in far greater numbers(x2, x3) ..Zeds should be harder to lose (no more running around a bush/running inside a barn or house) ..Zeds should be able to smell blood (people with less than 12k health) Without these changes PVE would be lame as fuck and at least I would get bored as fuck in a matter of dayZ. Luckily I like the paranoia as well as the hardcore experience.

    More SVD ammo spawns please.

    SVD ammo can be found in 7.62mm Ammo boxes containing 10 magazines, these can spawn near crashed helis and in barracks, so no its not the most hard to get ammunition, that would be.. FN FAL Mags(only spawning with the weapon itself, andn only in crash sites, up to 0-3/weaponspawn) 12.7x99 Nato (only spawning with the weapon itself, only crash sites, up to 0-3/weaponspawn) and Bizon ammo (only spawning with weapon itself, only crashsites, not sure but guessing 0-3/weaponspawn)
  7. Its already ingame. Step 1: Shoot target with 7.62mm Weapon(DMR, M24, M14, FN FAL, SVD, MK48, M240) once Step 2: bandage them before they die Step 3: ?? Step 4: Profit :D Don't forget the serious brain damage that can be caused by getting your head smashed in with a brick or a good ol 4x4..

    No offense but sadly(as per usual in the interneZ) nobody cares. So goodbye and have fun.eventually..when its going live..someday, maybe. I looked over the supposed feature list and i am old and disgruntled enough with the industry to know, that warZ is just that - an industry cash cow. They will have safezones? Rofl yeah..as "nice" as that sounds to carebears, just wait for the reality..when the first pvp-orientated dudes realize that they just have to lay low outside in a bush until you come out. Wait until the first "patch" changes balance and suddenly sniper rifles are the same as an assault rifle (dps wise) because lets face it, mainstream games will always be some dumbed and watered down falvor of the month thingy that fades faster than you can play through the precreated quests/missions whatever. oh yeah..and have fun with the absoulutely not pay2win cashmodel that allows you to buy the serum that prevents you character from succumbing to the same zombiefication-virus after getting attacked by a zombie - because thats something players of the hardcore mode will absolutely not want to have :D oh well..now you got me all riled up again, shame on you oh and on topic there is no need in "nerfing" Playerkilling. There is only a need to ensure that everyone plays by the same rules, and that is in the works. Soon there will be no more ammo replenish on disconnect/change mag, duping will get a .50 to the head as well and who knows maybe even the script kidZ will get their share. Hell hath no fury like a woman Rocket scorned. And then..oh the possibilities
  10. Very true, I am rolling around in a squad, and we tend to have a few steaks (2-4) on each person but we dont use it as food..its more like a medipack. Eating whole cows after a fight, feels like DragonBall to me..and seems somehow out of place in DayZ. But preventing people to gorge on steak like vampires on blood would also have a strongly diminishing effect on solo play banditry/survivalism since there is no way to administer bloodbags to yourself (sweet baby jesus thanks for that). The game would indeed become harder, since stuffing yourself with the content of several supermarket shelves wouldnt be possible anymore and therefore people not having someone around to dump a load in them (that sounds wrong :D ) would have to be extremely careful for a longer amount of time. I think the best way to implement this would be by having different kinds of food/drink items have different blood restore values(which in my opinion should be over time..not instantly) and an invisible calory value. A Character can only hold so many calories at once..and cant eat again unless he has lost enozgh calories for the item to "fit in" Obviously the same thing should apply to beverages, always odd that a frickin can of soda does the same as a water bottle

Please refrain from saying epi-pen when it has absolutely nothing to do with an epinephrine pen, which essentially is an adrenaline injector..hence it would neither kill you instantly(unless injected with an insane overdose) nor knock you out. The idea itself has interesting applications, even though with the current modus operandi of a vast majority of players there would be absolutely no point in having poison, KO(even though morphine is already in the game..just with a very different effect than RL) or whatever in injector form. Before doing any pokey pokey you would get shot..unless you are dealing with an utter asshat and manage to sneak up on him/her. Other than what i mentioned before a Dart-Gun could be interesting with a few problems to tackle.. -Poison-Darts (Damage over time) for example could very easily become the new barbed wire; ultimate griefing tool to fuck someones day up -Poison-Darts (Instant kill) are kind of pointless given the fact that you can drop people (kind of instantly) over ranges of up to 1000m given the right conditions (weapon/calibre/personal skill) -KO-Darts(loaded with morphine/propofol) could make non-lethal banditry a reality, even though for that to become a "viable" alternative there would have to be a new mechanic implemented that enables the looting of unconscious people. Which of course again would be pointless due to the fact that a single 7.62mm Nato round(DMR, M24, FN FAL, M14) hitting you anywhere but the head will knock you out, administering a bandage to that person in time would leave them alive and unconscious for several minutes, ready to get plundered to the bones. Oh..well i just realized..well nevermind.

    I guess what you meant to say was "...if he -were- to add more guns, they should be the kind that you'd find in a rural eastern european coastal area that was hit by a sudden outbreak of Zombiecalypse with literally thousands of dead soldiers, crashed military force recon/assault helicopters from the UN(hence the european weaponry) military vehicles(destroyed HMMWV's everywhere), outposts(Military emergency base near fucking balota), bases and airfields all over the place because obviously the world tried to fight the outbreak with anything they had." so yeah, finding military weapons would be absolutely unrealistic! geez..I really cant see where the problem is; just look at ..well *every* movie with a dangerous global virus outbreak/alien attack/supernatural danger. What is the first thing getting shipped there? Legions of soldiers armed to the tits to "suppress" the threat. Looking beyond established fiction, in a world.. - where people fire mortars over walls at their neighbours(im not talking about country im talking about yard neighbours)because they have different beliefs - where children are armed and trained to kill for their stupid leaders deranged ideals -where nuclear weapons of mass destructions are built to threaten someone else to not annihilate oneself with nuclear weapons of mass destruction do you really think there would NOT be a massive pooling of weaponry in places hit by something like the DayZ-Plague? ps: This is a rethorical question. So anyone saying that the best way to make DayZ more authentic 1) is completely against established fiction (books/movies/comics/graphic novels) 2) is completely against the most logical assumption that a military warfare infrastructure would be established in outbreak hotspots What does that mean? The first thing I can think of is, that you want others to play the game you want them to. I would love to have that made edible to me, because right now it tastes like shit.

    Safety toggle for weapons

    Safety would be awesome..a minor feature I am aware but awesome non the less. Doesn't ACE have that as well? Always felt weird, that this wasn't already included in the base game

    Those servers would have to have a different hive tracker so you can not under any circumstance gear up safely on those servers and then go and troll the hell out of legit(sorry i had to) servers. Of course it also would get boring as fuck very quickly without any real opposition so no point in gearing up anyways

    I have seen a lot of bitchy people ALT+F4'ing but when that happened in tonights stream I couldn't fucking believe it. Too bad it happened with ~20 ingame and ~800 stream witnesses. Someone said he had footage of them spawning in the cars they used to chase after bangbus7, so hopefully that gets posted soon and gets those pesky bitches out of business. awesome night btw oshi, i've never been that much into streaming, but this night was fucking hilarious. me and my brother would have loved to come but we are way back up near Stary. I hope we can arrange a ceasefire if we ever have the horrible and awesome fate of running into you guys ;)

    Shot in the foot?.....1 hit kill weapons?

    Lee Enfield does 12.5k Damage if fired at ~100m all .50 cal rifles deal 37k+ dmg at up to 1200m so yeah oneshot is absolutely possible.

    Server stability is not an issue since it in fact is alpha, which basically means that you will lose your precious character inevitably sooner or later, most definitely when this goes beta (character wipes are absoulutely common and quite honestly needed to maintain better testing environments) Hosting a server for DayZ is a privilege, nothing else. Obviously, if an admin abuses his power, his server has to go - permanently. That would have to be included in a kind of server user license agreement. You want to host Dayz? Follow the rules, or your server gets blacklisted. I am pretty darn sure, that getting kicked off a server is trackable in the hive, since rocket is currently doing exactly that tracking the login/out behaviour of clients. If you fight and kill someone and someone rings your door, you either go to the door and open it, or you dont - thats your choice. No one said anything about having to log off to do that. It just sounds like you are fishing for something to put into an argument. Broken Bones will do NOTHING to prevent someone ALT+F4 to evade death, absolutely nothing. But again..im not talking about people trying to disappear before something bad happens, I am talking about those that disconnect as soon as they get Damage/fall unconscious due to major blood loss trying to avoid death alltogether. Which is an exploit and therefore should invoke "severe" consequence (ingame death) This Trauma effect is only in effect if you have been HIT not if someone shot in your general direction. But alright, I concur that its a bit harsh. How about you have to be unconscious as well to have any effect, that would at least alleviate the problems of all those logging out after getting severly injured and trying to get away cheaply. So basically Trauma(getting hit, not getting shot at) + Unconscious(which takes tremendous damage/hit or very low health to occur) + losing connection
  19. Easy as pie. Every character that starts out and wants to survive for more than 24 hours should get medical supplies in a hospital of his/her choice. We play as a squad as well and whatever we plan/do before we start with that everyone runs to the nearest hospital, grabs a set of supplies (2 bloodbags, 2 painkillers, 2 morphine injectors, 2 epi pens, 4 bandages) and then we move out. This way, we can tackle almost anything, we survived concealed sniper fire, ambushes, Zed Armies (that one downed helicopter spwaned about 40 of those buggers) and bugs (mate broke his leg near a tent, when climbing down a deer stand, i broke mine while prone sneaking between two trees, etc). be sure to restock on that stuff whenever you kill anyone and they have it on them (Military Zeds also drop morphine) and make sure to check out deer stands, military tents(stary) or barracks(NWAF) its not that hard. Always be prepared, never let your guard down.

    Easy fix for Combat Alt+F4'ing If you get hit and take damage(blood) you currently get the Shock status, since that status also occurs if you fall down a deer stand or break a leg you either change the effect on the player after breaking something into like "Major Pain" or create a new Status (that only affects people that got hit by a player weapon) like TRAUMA with a duration of 5 minutes and no cure. If you suffer from TRAUMA and you disconnect (Alt+F4/Abort/killing the process in task mngr/shutting down the PC/losing internet connection) the character gets killed on the spot, leaves a corpse and is saved in the hive as killed. Alternative: If you suffer from TRAUMA and you disconnect (Alt+F4/Abort/killing the process in task mngr/shutting down the PC/losing internet connection) the character takes 4k blood damage on the spot, which would kill heavily wounded targets, leaves a corpse and is saved in the hive. Pros -instantly disabling any kind of combat evasion after you have been hit once for the next 5 minutes. -ensuring that people dont get banned for legit server hopping(daytime/lag/performance/no spawn-issues) Cons -Admin abuse possible via kick/ban (Workaround: report server/admin; 3 strikes = temp blacklist? whatever feels appropriate) To all those about to say "but i have bad connection that would kill me!" If you have a bad connection within those 5 minutes of someone shooting you, you would have probably died due to lag/desync anyway.
  21. Wait! What? Are you talking about a notebook that no matter who where and when writes into it, everyone that finds "a" notebook can see what was written into the "other" version? Like the Journey Books in Legend of the Seeker? ^^ Sweet jesus, ok im incredibly relieved, because this is so hilarious it will never be implemented. Until now i thought i had to combat this..but now I see its just so unfathomably against the course of the game, that there is no threat in this being introduced into the game ever. The Answer is yes, Alt/F4 ing is witchcraft and everyone guilty of doing it should be burnt at the stake. I'm serious Shock+Unconscious+Alt/F4 should result in instant death. But that doesn't belong here, now does it?

It IS magical if you dont have to type it in yourself. -If you get shot and take 7k+ Damage in Blood you usually pass out disabling character control - which means your character cant do shit(like wrting a name in a notebook of a person he never saw/knew and never knew the name of). -If you get instantly(1-3 seconds of engagement) killed you are in fact DEAD - which means you can't do shit as well((like wrting a name in a notebook of a person he never saw/knew and never knew the name of). If you die without having written something down in your book, they are not your last words. Fact is, this idea does not work in the context of the game as long as you magically get the name of your killer, magically put it down in a book, even though you never had the chance to type it yourself. You should have read my post, where i clearly stated that there are "magical" things like respawning Loot/Zeds/Players but these are what you call NARRATIVE, because without them the game would cease to function. Just because you introduce a feature suggestion that involves magical ninja lore and call it narrative doesnt make it part of the narrative - its still magical ninja lore. Just as the introduction of bandit skins was a bad decision(so rocket removed it) due to magical ninja lore, this one is as well. The idea that anyone who kills someone else has to dress seperately is stupid in itself, as well as the idea of seeing someones name and karmic reputation from up to a mile away through binoculars. There is a huge need to make coop more attractive, but that is not accomplished by introducing strange outgame features into a hardcore game environment where they do not belong.
  23. The problem i have with this system is that it is fueled by.... magic. First of all, you dont see the name of anyone (unless on regular/recruit servers/tags are enabled , which is stupid in its own way). If you get killed by someone chances are you never saw it coming, let alone identify who shot you. If you get killed, you are dead, there is no magical "put name in book so others can avenge me". The tendency to do magical things should be confined to the areas that would otherwise break the game for an ever growing gaming experience(respawning Zeds/loot/vehicles). Everything else should follow the plausible fiction route, this game is currently trying to go. If these notebooks where implemented, you should have to type whatever you want to be in there yourself - manually. This of course would mean, that everything written in there could be a lie.
  24. I tend to ensure the dead'ness of someone I shot by either putting a few more holes into them or by axing them a few questions. Pretending to be dead in the game where you cant check for pulse/see where exactly the bullet wounds would probably only fool newbs or idiots. But i would like to have flies only appear after a few minutes instead of instantly arriving as soon as someone bites the dust.
  25. Nice essay but kind of futile. Like you already stated, external communication will exist as long as people want to use them. No way to prevent players from using those without intrusive (and illegal) software built into a game. On the same note, there is no way to prevent "ninja lore" (player knowledge used as character knowledge) unless people want to not use what they already know about the game. Since players themselves are in control, none of these things are ever going to change. 3rd person is kind of an exploit as it can very effectively be used to simulate abilities known as extrasensory perception and if you throw that in the mix with some ghillied sniper, you are in for an asskicking. To prevent this I only play on servers without 3dp - problem solved without impacting other peoples gaming pleasure. One thing i do wholeheartedly agree about is the fact that a "crafting" system with recipes to uncover(loot on zombies/in military bases/farms/barns) would greatly benefit this game. ps: tl;dr basically means that someone is 1) mentally unable to read/process your written information 2) too lazy to do it 3) trying to upset you by pretending to not having read your post, even though they have and should therefore be regarded with no response at all
