    Ask Bohemia Interactive not Rocket, because that change was made in the base code of Arma 2 not the mod code of DayZ. It has already been stated by rocket that.. -he is looking into it -he is reluctant to change basic arma code because it would be a lot of work to maintain these changes throughout arma2 patch-advancement. This is not rocket science people, you can know these things if you A: read the damn forums B: read the damn patchnotes(not just DayZ ones..) Time for some shuteye

    The Adrenaline Status - Stop ALT+F4ing

    No sorry 5 seconds is not enoough. That would make this completely pointless and only suitable to ensure the sniper kills, but drawn out engagements, where neither you nor the enemy is instantly dead(because someone missed) would be unaffected by this change. Just about a week ago I suddenly started taking fire, got hit in the shoulder, threw myself behind a rock, managed to bandage myself after losing lots of blood and waited for the "enemy" to make a mistake...like coming out of cover, trying to flank me, etc. I waited there for about 10 minutes, then I worked my way around, came from the back and shot him. With 5 seconds you can just make potshots at someone from afar and if you dont get the kill instantly, just wait 5 seconds and log..thats stupid.

    Adrenaline Rush

    Adrenaline rush is something almost everyone experiences in real life when playing this game and spotting a stranger. That being said, the advantages of the ingame effect Adr. rush you propose are completely ridiculous, immunity to knockout? wtf. So basically you become nigh unstoppable as soon as someone shoots you instead of becoming a rolled up ball of freaked-the-fuck out as most people ingame do? No. The Rush of Adrenaline is about the same on both sides - at least thats how it happens for me. Is he alone? What is he armed with? Does he know I'm here? Where is he going? Thats whats going through my head..and its about the same when im being shot at with one exception: Where is he? DayZ is unlike other games and especially unlike MMO-type games where PvP "has to be balanced". There is no "Holy cow, that guy almost killed me, but then i got magical healing charge of badassery from my druid friend and then I took him out with my overcharged shazam of reckoning!" If you spot someone or get spotted by someone and the intentions are deadly - there is only kill or be killed.

    I'd rather have different clothing types as spawns in the game instead of them magically appearing because I did X.
  8. The problem with the current system is the slot-System itself. In most instances it just doesnt make sense. The MP5SD takes the same amount of slots(space) in a backpack as an AS50/M107/MK48/M240/M249 which doesnt make sense...at all. Like apples and pumpkins. The ACE² Mod has a volume system as far as I know, which would be the best fit for DayZ in my opinion. Every Player has Volume of x for Primary Inventory and Backpacks have their own amount of ccm of storage space. Then you could add on top of that and make Micromanagement a bigger factor. Currently we have more toolslots than tools, that should change as well. Make tools of different sizes use up different amounts of toolspace, or add items like toolbelts that have varying amounts of Storage space for tools and such. Make it so you have to either have luck finding a big enough toolbelt to take(almost) everything or let people decide which tools they might need most. This would also fit in nicely with the Ammo-Pouch/Bag Idea, which could be a new toolbelt item with a fixed amount of volume you can put into, restricted to ammunition of course. This would also make it more so that heavy ammunition like .50 BMG(12.7x99mm Nato) would have a bigger volume and therefore restrict how much of that stuff you could carry around at a time.

    removal of thermal sights

    thick branches, glass doors/windows, stone walls/pillars, wooden walls/doors and anything metal hides your heat signature. If you are alone there is always only a very small field of view that you can actually scan, and since you cannot see thru terrain, you have to basically check every few seconds if you want to make sure no one just comes around a corner and shoots you with a makarov. Oh and it makes you incredibly paranoid, because every little speckle of heat signature could be another player..but since 75% of all signatures are Zeds or animals you will spend a lot of time almost shitting your pants because you're not sure if you actually saw another player or not. As soon as the duping (intentional as well as unintentional) has gone, this weapon will be very rare indeed; provided there comes a database wipe, which really needs to be done at that point. As I have said many times before the L85 is not overpowered, because to be overpowered there has to be balance in the first place. Since this game is not made to be balanced like all the other shitty mainstream-evil-megacorporation-games are, there is no such thing as "op".

    Dead soldiers are there as part of the backstory, the country was in danger, the military moved in, they got defeated ergo - dead soldiers. DayZ's Zeds (hilarious, I know) are not the walking dead. Them munching on you doesnt turn you into one of them. Fix the glitches and all will be fine.

    'OP' Guns and the Future of Dayz

    These weapons aren't "overpowered" because to be overpowered there has to be balance in the first place. Luckily (for me at least) this game isnt about balance, its about the very basic survival of the fittest. Not just the strongest, the smartest or the best geared but the fittest. You have to adapt and overcome lots of obstacles, the very first would be to aquire the knowledge of Zed Evasion, followed by Navigation, Opportunism and so on. That being said, most people packing the aforementioned kind of heat are just the best geared. They can be outsmarted. They can be killed. Very easily most of the time. The only thing that needs to be adressed in terms of "balance" is to ensure that everyone is on the same playing field. 1) No more duping(intentional or unintentional) 2) No more hacking(we can still dream) 3) Proper Ammunition Count Tracking( no more infinite Ammo by relog/Mag-Conversion) 4) No more combat Logging/ALT+F4 After 1, 3 and 4 are accomplished the Cherno Whores (Combat-logging Noobs with AS50/M107/.. and infinite ammo) will diminish. The L85's Thermal is very powerful in the right hands and completely worthless in the hands of others. But the gun itself kind of sucks in terms of long-range accuracy and damage. As soon as 1 and 2 are fixed, this will be a very rare weapon with copious amounts of ammunition should you be lucky enough to get it.

    Too many Guns.

    Even if you ignore the ArmA 2 base campaign, just imagine for a moment.. Chernarus is a destabilized, eastern european post-soviet country that was hit by a sudden outbreak of Zombiecalypse with literally thousands of dead soldiers, crashed military force recon/assault helicopters from the UN(hence the european weaponry) military vehicles(destroyed HMMWV's everywhere), outposts(Military emergency base near fucking balota), bases and airfields all over the place because obviously the world tried to fight the outbreak with anything they had." so yeah, finding military weapons would be absolutely unrealistic! geez..I really cant see where the problem is; just look at *every* movie with a dangerous global virus outbreak/alien attack/supernatural danger. What is the first thing getting shipped there? Legions of soldiers armed to the tits to "suppress" the threat. Looking beyond established fiction, in a world.. - where people fire mortars over walls at their neighbours because they have different beliefs - where children are armed and trained to kill for their stupid leaders deranged ideals -where nuclear weapons of mass destructions are built to threaten someone else to not annihilate oneself with nuclear weapons of mass destruction do you really think there would NOT be a massive pooling of weaponry in places hit by a Zombie Outbreak threatening all of mankind? ps: rethorical question

So basically all a bandit has to do is... 1) stalk people and wait till they defend themselves against Zeds 2) lure a Zedtrain into Survivors 3) wait around, scoped in, for someone to loot from a weapon spawn What are your options if you don't want to kill people but (for survival reasons) prefer to use camouflaged mercenary clothing(bandit only) instead of target-painted doctor/police clothing? Where is the aspect of deception? You know..that kind of thing that is more prevalent in human to human interaction than anything else? Especially if you are a "bad" person. Why does shooting people debilitate ones neural pathways so instead of lowering their weapon , they aim down their sights instead? What exactly does Humanity do in this scenario?

    You can get killed while logging in, without being aware of your surroundings. What exactly do you mean by "full of blood", were you "bloodied" or "unhurt"?

    Why not, but only if they are killed by heavy ordinance like rocket launchers and satchel charges or die by fire(inside of a burning out car) Everything else just doesnt make sense.
  16. This reads to me like you want this game to be a special(your) way and therefore everyone else should be ok with that, am I wrong here? Reducing Options in weaponry should not be rockets concern, especially not at this stage of development. Increasing options on the other hand sounds about right. It has been stated by Rocket before, that he is not interested in giving DayZ this gamey and stupid term "balance". There is no "overpowered" or "unbalanced" in this game. Because there is no PvP in this game. There is only kill or be killed. There is no "I almost got killed but my healer patched me up and i threw a charged shot at him that critted for 4567 fire damage". If you get shot you probably die. If you get shot by an Anti-Materiel rifle you should die. If someone has better gear than you, they should be able to find/kill/rob you if you are (skill/travel-wise) unable to avoid them. There is only a need to make sure, that there are only as much weapons in the game as have been spawned in a legit way by the game, therefore the only weapon/gear related change DayZ currently needs is to get rid of duping (unintentional as well as intentional) and scripting/hacking. The next step to reduce the amount of "advanced weaponry" like .50cal rifles and weapons with thermal/night scopes is to increase the variety of weapons available in the game, as long as the number of loot spawns stays the same, there will be less of these specific weapons in circulation.

    Server - Weapon Configurations

    This is great! What about... - "green" servers where cars and other combustion engine vehicles are disabled and only bicycles or electric cars spawn - vegan servers where cruel and heartless cow and bunny killing is impossible and people only eat tofu - christian servers where everyone huddles together in a church praying for gods intervention (spoiler alert: god doesnt do shit and everyone dies!) Oh imagine the possibilities! No wait, don't imagine - write them down!

    Ability to Combine Partial Magazines

    There was a great suggestion made some time ago about separating magazines from ammunition, making it possible to load up weapon-specific magazines with appropriate calibre ammunition and limiting combat ready ammo to the number of mags/clips/speedloaders you have to fill. I'd really like that.

    PvE DayZ servers petition.

    Never going to be implemented, because of this and sweet baby jesus thank you for a game that finally doesn't hold my hand or tells me how to do things. This game is about survival. Basic survival - not zombie survival, not bandit survival. You want to shoot someone? Do it and deal with the consequences. You dont want to shoot someone? Do it and deal with the consequences. You want to group up? Do it and deal with the consequences. Rocket already said, that DayZ... - doesnt need millions of customers - will always have free4all pvp as a core mechanic - is meant to be impossibly dark and cruel - is meant to evoke fear, paranoia and frustration Therefore it is pretty safe to assume that none of these suggestions, that would greatly change/modify/prevent/punish the core mechanic of this game, is ever going to be implemented. This is not Left4Dead. This is not Chernarus Apocalypse. This is DayZ.
  21. I really hope that there can/will be anything done with the current sounds..because they are just too buggy and inconsistent. The other day I was on overwatch for my brother while he was looting the tents in stary. I was approximately 80-100m away and when he started shooting some zeds with an AKM I almost shit my pants because it sounded like someone was standing on top of me. But then every 3rd or 4th shot sounded like the supersonic crack you are supposed to hear(?) at higher distances. Its not gamebreaking but its very disturbing that sometimes you just can't make out from where someone is shooting or what weapon it is. This is a major inconvenience when it comes to tactical assessments when you start taking fire on your position..or want to pinpoint the location of a shooter.

    Favourite Weapon in DayZ?

    Close/Medium Range: MK48; just pried out of someones cold, dead hands yesterday and I already love it. made short work of another player today, sadly he turned out to be my brother who failed to communicate his position while approaching someones car in the woods^^
