    direct3d 9 graphic engine failure

Download beta from: http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php Open it with an archiving program. Yank out the executable. Run the executable. You should then have the Launch... executable/shortcut in your OA directory. Thank link isn't asking me to login or anything.
  2. For anyone with this problem or helping others... I get this error when I run the patched executable directly, either in the \Expansion\beta\ folder, or after it is copied to the main ARMAII:OA folder. If I run OA or Combined under Steam, no error. If someone is running Steam version from a desktop shortcut, possibly it is a shortcut to the executable, instead of a Steam shortcut.

    no entry bin config.bin CFgWeapons.

Install the beta patch - it is mandatory now. Run ArmaII:CO from the patched executable. You no longer spawn with a weapon. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=18588

Sent to Arma 2 main menu screen

On the first menu screen, what VERSION do you have? Bottom right corner. Should be 1.60.94444. Launcher never worked right for me so I do this all manually. I don't know if Launcher will automatically update your beta patch. If not, check out: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=18588 Additionally, under the logo in the top right, you should have a small list of things. Mine is: - arma 2 - @dayz - beta - Expansion If you do not have all those, the parameters being passed to your executable are missing something. I do not KNOW that the Expansion one is required, but it showed up when I first installed the beta patch.

Will I be able to run it?

You need another meg of ram and a 2400 baud modem... Sorry to be a smartass. Why not download ARMAII Free and see how zippy that will be on your system? http://www.arma2.com/free/ There's nothing about OA or DayZ that will overload your system as far as I am aware. I'm on a Q9450 (oc'd 3.2) and a GTX260 and I have no problems. I run at default settings and those are fine so I have not messed with them. But I am old and I remember playing games at 320x240 with 16 colors...

    Cant even play Dayz

That wasn't the question he asked... The latest beta patch as of last night is 94444. Is that the version number you have at the bottom right of your menu screen? Serious glitches that make the game non-functional are almost always a beta patch problem. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=18588 1. Download beta 2. Install beta 3. Copy patched executable to OA directory

    even MORE server mods required?

I don't have that DLC either, and mine is working fine. On the menu screen you get, there is a version number in the bottom right corner. What number do you have? I'm guessing you do not have the latest beta patch, 94444, because you did not state that you have installed that. Check out the INSTALLATION section on this page: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=18588

    Spawning in hills????

http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=18588 Check the Installation section. I think most people are failing to update the executable that runs the patched Combined Operations. When you get to the first menu screen, under the ArmaII logo in the top right your mods should be listed. Mine shows: - armaII - @dayZ - Expansion - beta If you do not have the last two, you do not have the patched version running, even if you have patched, I believe. If you do not have @dayz, then the mod isn't loading. I don't know that the Expansion thing is required, but when I patched it, it showed up, so I am not messing with it. If you are missing any of the other three that I have listed, you are not patched or you are running the wrong executable, or the mod isn't installed AND loading, or something else is messed up. The most recent DayZ spawns you without a handgun. You have a flashlight, bandage and painkillers.

[Solved] unable to join games! help!

When your run the program from Steam, you need to choose to launch as Combined Ops. That is the bottom of four selections on my system. When the menu for ARMAII comes up, there should be a Version in the bottom left corner. I have a beta patch installed and mine is 1.60.94364. It looks like the latest patch is 94444. I don't know what "regular" ArmaII will be. What is your version? I never had any luck with 6 launcher so I don't use it. I believe it is supposed to install beta for you on its own. I could be wrong. Also on that menu screen, under the ARMAII logo in the top right there should be your expansion or mods. Mine lists: - arma 2 - @dayz - Expansion - beta You should have, at least, all but Expansion. I believe you SHOULD have Expansion also, but I am not positive. If you do not have "beta" you almost certainly do not have the patch. Go here and check out the INSTALLATION links. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=18588 A proper installation consists of, I believe: - Install ARMAII - Run ARMAII as admin - Install Arrowhead - Run Arrowhead as admin - (Run Combined Ops as admin) (Necessary?????) - install beta patch - install mod Since I do not use 6 Launcher, I don't know what steps it might replace. In the link to the Steam "Ghost" problem, many people are missing step 2, where you have to replace the executable that runs Combined Ops. That will run the program as non-beta. Many people are skipping step 5, which will result in a failure to load @dayz as a mod. Your mileage may vary.

    not spawning with a gun

No problem. You gotta start somewhere. Right click in inventory. That will allow you to move it from weapon slot to toolbelt, and vice versa. In-game, L toggles it on/off.

Don't Bother Buying 2nd Copy of Arma 2

You didn't buy DayZ, so your beef isn't with this site. Even if you own ARMA2:OA, you do not have any legal right to play DayZ, so they can boot you just because of your attitude. The "illegal copy" thing isn't personal to you. I see it all the time. Seeing as how I imagine there are college kids or dormies all over the world playing this together, a far more likely issue is that one system is set up wrong, or possibly you have an IP address issue through your connection to the Internet.
  12. You probably need to install the beta patch. Check the INSTALLATION setion for the "ghost" problem. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=18588

    not spawning with a gun

Check the dates on those videos. You should spawn with a flashlight now. First, you need to learn to crawl...

Dayz not working for 3 dayz

http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=18588 Check the link for the "ghost" problem. Your post doesn't indicate you have followed those directions if you have Steam.

    blank feild are unloading screen?

http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=18588 You go there are see if you are installed correctly. You need: ARMAII OA beta patch DayZ mod files

    Cannot Respawn Properly

Do you have third person view or is that glitched? Do you have a debug monitor? I had that same spawning problem before installing beta patch. Even when the patch is installed, you still have to run a different file. (Rename old app file and copy a file from the beta directory into the main OA directory.) http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=13684 If you are using Steam, check step 2 on that page.
  17. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=13684 Go there and install beta patch. Step 2 is the one a lot of people are skipping. Step 5 is also important.

    Torch/Secondary gun

It's correct. It sucks, but it is correct. The G17 has a flashlight on it. There's a shotgun with a light also. Maybe some others, but I haven't been loot-successful...

    problems with my dayz

Go here: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=18588 Try the INSTALLATION section of that post. I think the most common problem is that you have to install a beta patch now, for ARMAII. Then you have to make sure you are running the patched version. On my system, when everything is running right, under the top right icon for ARMAII I have expansions listed for: - arma 2 - dayz - beta - Expansion Obviously I can't verify it, but if you are missing any of those, my guess is the game won't work right. You may need to install the beta before install the DayZ mod files, but I honestly don't see how that would cause problems.

    No error message, can't troubleshoot.

That's what I did. Erase and start over. - Install ArmaII - Run as Admin - Install OA - Run OA as Admin - Run Combined Ops as Admin - Install beta - Run all three programs again because I really don't know what the heck the patch is patching... - Install DayZ files I run combined ops from a desktop shortcut to a file called %steampath%\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\_runA2CO_beta.cmd I added the -mod=@DayZ to the RUN section of that command file. When I run that file, under the ARMAII logo at top right, I get entries for ARMAII, DayZ, beta and Expansion. At the bottom right the last number should match the beta version. I don't know if this how they recommend, but it worked. Install one thing at a time and run it to see if it is working. Feel free to message me on here if you hit a wall. Good luck.

    No error message, can't troubleshoot.

http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=13684 You don't indicate if you have beta installed for Arma. I'd start there. I'm no expert, however.

    Missing Character in game

I'm not any expert... The config weapon thing is normal. Click OK. Otherwise, sounds like you have the invisible/ghost problem. To run DayZ I believe you need: - ArmaII - Arma:OA - beta patches for Arma II - DayZ mod If you didn't install beta, that sounds like the problem. Try this page: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=13684
  24. Alfredo - When the game gets to the "Main Menu" screen it should list the mods that are installed over at the right top, under the ARMA II logo. Mine looks like: arma II @dayz beta Expansion Until all of those showed up, I was having all the problems that have been discussed. If you are missing one of those, then I believe something is wrong with the shortcut or command file you are using to run the game. My command file adds mods of: -mod=%_ARMA2PATH%;EXPANSION;ca;@dayz -mod=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion The beta patch added most all of that and I had to add the "@dayz"
