  1. How on Earth did you spot the last guy? I've been trying to see him and can't spot him when you shout out. That was very Mafia with all the door shoting :) I wish there were penetration effects, but anyway it was cool. I hate the airfield. I usually go alone and I'm always happy to get out alive.

    Same questions

    2.35:'Oh, another one, outside'

2:40:'he's coming, he's coming, shooting through the door'

wtf? No visual enemy, no recorded footstep sound  (i'm pretty sure it's not easy to hear someones steps with someone being speaking in teamspeak and chirping birds outside)

update: got it, 2:40 door sound, but still cant understand how did you spotted him?))

  2. Started my game to take a look on that. Set a resolution to 5760 x 1200 in the game settings.

    Aspect ratio: 12/3 'Tripple head'

    apply, restart the game.

After restart texture quality went to 50%, set up to 100%, adjust fov on your wish.

  3. How long has the current build been up? I only logged on about 6pm GMT today. Loot was plentiful even in Cherno and Kamy (my 2 spawn points today) I only played on one server... Server was 30-50/50 all day

Not sure, however look what i found in the dev blog

Lastly - as development with 0.57 wraps up, the current iteration of the Central Loot Economy will have loot persistence (the saving of spawned and dropped loot, as well as tents) disabled - while the programming team resolves the blocking issues with item cleanup, and rolls out support for per-building quantity controls to ensure an even spread of loot across the world (slaying those pesky loot splosions). This means that when servers restart, fresh loot will be respawned to ensure an enjoyable experience on stable branch.

  4. Some servers are different I was on UK-10 and there was tonnes of stuff. One town had 3 bags of rice and more tins than I could carry while others and rifles and shotguns in many houses. Was doing really nice until some bellend KOS'd me from behind a bush..

Did you then tried to switch to another server and check loot on same places?

Lots of stuff can be explained by low server run time after patch update, cause each server is going to make full respawn and people can find a lot of things even at players' spawn points.

However after couple hours cities are going to be empty and you will notice only loot in the north, were people amount isn't high and fresh spawned loot (or not noticed loot) will stay for a longer time.

Maybe i'm wrong, however that's how i seen this yesterday after last patch during 6-8hours playing with 1 character, geared up in first hours and running through the whole map (2 handed sword and truck are fun!).

p.s. i couldnt find any ammo in the last 2 hours, even thought server hopping in the middle of the night, with 0-10 people population on the servers (almost got raped by some lonely server hoppers hunter, probably he decided to find some ammo by another way)

  5. Well,  just recorded some video with msi overlay showing following information.

    GPU LOAD / TEMP

    CPU LOAD / TEMP

    ram usage (isnt important)

video ram usage (3.5 gb gtx 970)

    FPS

    Video settings:

    Resolution: 1920x1080

    Render res: 200%

Quality: Objects, shadows, clouds, terrain - max settings.

Textures: very high - max settings

Rendering: AA (disabled, not needed since render on 200%), Alpha to coverage (disabled, doesnt work with disabled AA), Edge smoothing (enabled, low settings, doesnt blur the picture like higher quality setting), HDR (enabled, low is the max allowed quality), Ambient occlusion (disabled, unfortunately doesnt work without postprocessing), postprocessing (disabled, unfortunately it has has build in 'blur' starting from the 'low'. Very low doesnt allows to turn the ambient occlusion, most weird settings i ever seen) - custom settings for sharper picture.

Result: GPU / CPU load, 30-50%. FPS: 10-30.

Lowering settings: doesnt boost FPS a lot, almost no effect at the town.

Most useful hint to increase FPS (outside cities or overloaded places) = objects. Decreasing this to the very low will give a significant boost to the fps, however it doesnt affect CPU load like it says in forum guide.

Objects - decrease it if you haven't got a powerful CPU, Very low should be ok for 2-4 cores Amd Cpus and 2 cores Intel Cpus (2 Threads), low and normal for 2-4 cores Intel Cpus (4 Threads) and 6 cores Amd Cpus, high for 8 cores Amd Cpus and 4 cores Intel Cpus (4-8 Threads) and very high for 4+ cores Intel Cpus (8+ Threads).

As you can see on the video - this is not quite truth (means objects doesnt really affect the CPU load, however i would recommend to decrease this option if you're expiriencing fps issues).

I have an FX-8350 massively overclocked and watercooled and my performance is just fine. A lot of people are doing it wrong by lowering their graphics-settings - but by doing that they're offloading their GPU and thus the CPU has to handle more. I am currently running DayZ at maximum resolution (and 200% overscaled) on a 21:9 monitor with my FX-8350 and a 7970. GPU is @ 100% and I get decent frames (everywhere).

    What is 'decent' frames? 10-20-30-60-120?

I would like to read detailed information about your dayz settings configuration, cause i'm expierincing bad fps at intel i5 3570k (overclocked to 4.3 / watercooled) and gtx 970. Dayz doesnt use more then 50% of CPU resources (regarding task manager), same applies for the GPU (30-60%).

p.s. going to try set all settings to max with 200% resolution, lets see how it works.

  7.

The clothes are like the previous post says on Prison Island, tons of them. I have only seen cargo pants at the big two building garages with several trucks and cars in the parking lot. Someone said you could spray fruit with the 409 cleaner and make people sick, I haven't picked up fruit since I saw that and then suddenly they were gone. I think that there are a lot of people who do not work and get on when the server is fresh and get 5 tents and load up tons of stuff while server hopping, By the time I get on after work it's been 15 hours and most places are barren. I'm lucky to have found a rifle and a mag and 1 canteen.

Dont got there, it's deal island! Died from dehydration and starvation even though server hopping at the deep night with empty servers! :(

    p.s. 4:30, dat stuff amount!
