  1. It's very obvious to me, if everybody who ever entered this server, recorded everything they experienced then there would be video's like what we've seen, all over the place.

When it comes to life in the universe, I believe, if there's one planet with life on it then there will be another, given the infinite possibilities of space. We don't have space tho, but we do have 1000's of DayZ servers, running almost 24/7. There's so much room for so many possibilities and things unseen.

It's obvious this has been happening for a long time and he knew about it, now that you're getting money, you want that money bad enough, you're prepared to lie and dig your way out of this shit hole.

If this was just a hobby, just a game, you'd wash your hands and carry on with your life.

Stay away from DayZ. Stay away from Gaming.

  2. If you have a base or are going to be holed up in a town for a while, i think this might be a good idea.

If you approach a water source, you could be able to rick-click on your 'Jerry can' and "fill with water", then, drop the 'Jerry can' on the floor, once done, you can fill your water bottle 20 times and it cannot be picked up until it is has either some or no water inside it. And once filled with water, the Jerry can would double or triple its slot size.

  3. I'd like to see.... Parachutes become an item and worn as a backpack. Obviously a rare find, military grade or close to civilian aircraft spawn, somewhere.

Once used, it would spread across floor like a broken tent, then you'd spend a few minutes packing it back in, or leave it until you have time and relative safety

  4. Destroy fuel tanks, that'll bring down most buildings next to it, or half the building at least. So, if you're looking for fun with some refueling bandits and never had the chance to use your M16A2 M203, give it a shot. (Enough bullets/ nades will also destroy a fuel tank.)

  5. I get the feeling that zombie kills from the chopper won't count because the ammo refills on server restart. So having an infinite ammo system would make zombie farming ridiculous and you'd see people 1000's of unjustified Zed kills. So at least it stops the braggers from claiming some sort of false respect.

Not sure about the clock tbh. Never heard of a chopper gunner combat logging either (But, I am just 1 person)

  6. Dave,

First and foremost, I do this also. But let me explain. You see I have 5 profiles. I have 2 dedicated to 2 different whitelisted servers I play to play on. Then comes the server I admin on... I have an admin profile, with this profile i refrain from engaging anyone with hostility.(unless fired upon) I am there to help out our players and try to keep everything running smoothly. No need to be accused of using my admin powers for evil. Plus the owner is adamant about us remaining clean.

Then there are my "have fun" profiles, these I am forbidden to use my superpowers on. One is pretty much at your service, he feeds, heals, and delivers you with glee & joy. He'll crack jokes on side and complement your stellar zombie slaying skills. He is happy with his akm and little pickup. Then there is my asshole, this is the profile i use when people need to be shook up, He'll lay traps, ambushes, and just kick the hornets nest to get everyone in a tizzy. It is fun knowing everyone hates this guy, but it is rewarding to know I am causing memories for people. Even if they spit bile when speaking my name. The stories I hear of stuff i supposedly did, even though I know i didn't! These memories hopefully will have them wax nostalgic in Dayz when they no longer can play it.

Back in the day I played UO. We had seers, gm's, and the pk community all creating these events and conflicts. These are the thing i remember with the most bittersweet fondness. The sense of community in trying to overcome these conflicts, whether we passed or failed. I didn't realize it then but i had some of the best times just running / hunting / bargaining with the reds. The stories I used to tell at work about the drunk monk in YEW who was flirting with my horse or the serial killer jester plaguing the area around my keep. The chaos that ensued when some horde of monsters attacked a city. These are important, even if you don't realize it now. When DayZ is no longer the game it was for you, these will be the memories you embrace. Even if it does suck balls now!

Now there is an easy way to tell if someone is doing this, press "I" (eye not el) Try and remember what the stats are for your enemies and if someone asking for help has the same or close to numbers. Beware! This isn't fool proof no, but it is a way to detect profile shifters.

Dars? Dng? I'm not really fussed about the personal aspect, I can deal with it and root out the pretenders, even if i get it wrong, it's still 1 more person not to trust. But that could have been 1 more buddy too :beans:

so.... I'm mistrusting and killing survivors which could help me later or visa versa. It has kinda poisoned the water supply. How can I make a clan or group now when everybody has triple identities?

I also understand your actions, i hate care bear servers which is why i setup my roadblocks for an unconditional kill on whoever rolls up to it. screws things up, keeps people on their toes. Everybody in a heli is fair game etc.

  7. I've been shot in the back quite a few times, more than i'd like to admit, even after helping people. It doesn't stop me sometimes being friendly toward a person and taking a risk- maybe im not that attached to that gear at that moment, or i dont see him as a threat... or i simply just dont want to kill them... Then other days i'll go around killing people without asking any questions sometimes friendlies even get in the way! Its just the way it is. Shit happens bro! But the vast majority of the time, I will try to be friendly- but as soon as they start pointing a gun at me, im not so friendly anymore.

I understand, I feel the same way once i get bored of drunk flying through cities shouting "Uh Oh!" as chopper dave then think, why not take a risk and help some people but I'm not talking about the common trust issue with trying to interact with players, SO what if some of those players who shot you in the back was a player who did it once already but changed ID. Wouldn't that make you think... what if that player does it again... and again... why even try to talk to players if they're likely somebody who's killed you already and out to kill you. Just shoot everyone all the time just to make sure it's not a fake ID? I'm quite sure that's not DayZ's intention as a game..

  8. “Don’t think. Thinking is the enemy of creativity. It’s self-conscious, and anything self-conscious is lousy. You can’t try to do things. You simply must do things” – Ray Bradbury

Did this today. Had our heli stolen but we survived, killed one of them and retreated... thought about going back.... told myself stop thinking and just DO IT.

Waited 30 mins for the guys to refuel my heli, Just as he was taking off, shot him, he jumped out, my sniper buddy finished him off.... The heli cruised towards the fuel tank... slowly...crash > BOOM, takes down the building next to it, one of their pick-up trucks and their GAZ. They got smashed, had no idea we surrounded them. MAJOR SURPRISE,.(Only killed one, should have killed all 3 with those explosions server restart screwed up everything) They were very angry, asked the server to kill us for items etc etc.

I'm going to be, 'not thinking' much more often.

  9. I have an issue on the server that I'm dedicated to at the moment. Issue or not, I'd just like to find some opinions and experiences with this.

Playing on a server for long enough will get you some enemies, even if you try not to obtain them. They'll kill you, they want to kill you and they'll do whatever they can to kill you. Kill, kill, kill, Dave!

It 1st started when I met 2 players, they needed a favor, they needed my Ural to knock down a tree to free a tent. So, I accidentally crashed the Ural into a Humvee, the one with the broken door on the floor in Kamyshovo. ALL wheels dead. Lame, yes. So they asked if i needed a ride, considering i drove all that way to help them. They did drive me up north but then killed me.

(Ok, so that was uncalled for, using the side channel to get a kill after apparently being willing to co-operate. So I asked them to pick me up after one of the guys claimed it was not meant to happen.. and they tried but I killed them both, sweet revenge)

    So now, it begins.

The feud went on for a few days until I found out about some players not being who they said they were. Which led to me being killed a few more times after trying to assist players who I thought were bambi's stuck in a bad position. As it turns out, these players have several identities dedicated to resetting their own reputation and luring players into new traps using the side channel and pretending to be bambi's in a bad situation. It's a good server with a fair amount of regulars and good guys.

So, considering the mod trying to build an aspect of trust into the game, knowing who to trust and who to avoid, I found this behavior very counterproductive towards the DayZ model. Because if people are not who they say they are then, why trust anybody? Then it's PVP all day everyday without even bothering to communicate with other players.

(but i also read how Rocket likes Metagaming so... this kinda is Metagaming. Does anybody know if this kind of play id blessed or cursed by the DayZ devs and what's going to happen with player profiles in the DayZ standalone considering this.)

  10. Not that odd considering it's realism aspect, it's like watching a 3D movie.

I myself spent hours watching DayZ video's before I played it which I'd recommend to everyone, to save everyone the time of answering every question a bambi has on the side channel, so when I played it,I had almost no questions to ask, it was very natural and helped me concentrate on adjusting to the ARMA physics.

  11. Edit: Why are you making double posts over and over again, from the same quote?

It's what happens when noobie forum users become infatuated with a topic and 2nd guess everything, review everything and generally get their panties in a twist trying to cope with the pressure. Especially ones who don't have the patience to learn how to use their posting tools (EDIT).

Objecting towards a gameplay style is not in any way crying or whining. I'm hoping to have the chance to protect the integrity of DayZ, regardless of whatever rules you have made for yourself.

I'm not surprised you would over exaggerate this pixnit, as exaggeration is a childish trait.

    arrogant clowns

"SHOOT US PLEASE. WE ARE MONGS".

I don't even know who you are. Rofl. You are just another random forumite that has his head up his arse

I think this sums up your excess attitude, lack of maturity and lack of class. If you didn't already show a video, I'd think you were a (Call of Duty) QS'n 12 year old and that somehow, I'd wondered into a Call of Duty forum.

  12. That is what YOU do. You don't have authority enough to impose your views on us that just simply likes to hunt people. "GA AWAY. PLAY DIFFERENT GAME". Or simply man up, muppet.

pixnit getting butt hurt is this thread is failing to load.... youve got it the other way round.... brah

He's trying to offend me for what? He's clearly emotionally distressed and needs a hug.

  13. Oh dear god, forgive him.

    Read the Forum Rules brah.

This discussion is a two way street except there are no butt hurt tears on my side of this, just a few opinions people can't handle.

I expressed my opinion and Pinxit is getting arsey about it. I don't think I've overstepped any boundaries either.

Pinxit obviously cannot handle my opinions by getting tearful about. "Why don't they all like my video and like how I play? I just wanna be Coooooool".

    41ZMxuU9FcL._SX500_.jpg

So whilst he says I should not play DayZ, I say he should not even be on the Internets because he can't handle peoples opinions :P

  14. You are welcome to go to that position. Although I think that this video has taught some people who needed it to not go up as a group in a highly exposed tower.

In DayZ, you're given room to learn and grow from experience.

Let's hope that the next video you provide is much more entertaining, profitable, skill built and not spawned from a chance encounter. Then you will have reason to defend your actions.

  15. Boy, the only thing I see you do, is useless killing. We have many games for that. Why don't you coward switch so we can play the game as intended?

Exactly. In Zombie Survival scenarios that you discuss with your friends and internet friends, at what point do you say, "Whilst you're looting, you'd better watch out for that sniper on the hill who kills for fun".

Example of how generic gamers go wherever there are sniper rifles.

Fan-boy snipers do not belong in DayZ.

  16. I still realise that this player is new and is fully aware that he's not competent.

What still surprises me is that he thinks he can record his progress from noob to pro. It does not happen in a week or even a month and I can't see it lasting as long as it takes for him to prove this to us.

These videos serve as nothing more than a player pretending to be a pro, and then later seeking redemption for past mistakes through visual manipulation.

He obviously hasn't acquired any of his own guns in his videos from the start of his player which is a major factor in DayZ.

  17. Let's just say you're good but not good enough to be naming and shaming players.

After a few shots on a sniper rifle in arma II's armory, I found that the range and target movement prediction is not a hard thing to predict. I don't see why you're naming and shaming players and I hope I don't see more excuses as to why you'd do-so.

I still look forward to seeing you progress in quality.

  18. I've seen better shots.

3 kills at 400m isn't that much, especially if the dudes you killed were freshly spawned with nothing to loot.

Just another pointless DayZ sniping video.

I agree, this video reminds me of my 2nd mini-mission in ARMA II's armory.

Hopefully, In time, pixnit will get better and team up with other players to become a "Tactical Support Sniper", Woot! Woot!. I bet they'd make good videos!

[EDIT: Removed "Naming & shaming" comment]

  19. Perma Aggro does not exist. I have several points of advice but I'd rather not share them with you because I'm an Axe wielding psycho who likes using players as Zombie chow to evade death.

I'd like to see a bit less of a learning curve - see start weapon and lose perma aggro in all areas - without dumbing this very creative and interesting game down to the level of most of the FPS crap on the market.

    (As a solo player)

If you can't learn fast, you DIE.

If you don't have the dedication to learn, you will FAIL.

(General ARMA II Rule, I'd imagine)

If you start with a weapon, It will DUMB your senses and DUMB your ability to form a strategy.

DayZ is not a game on the market, you should not compare this game with anything that you see on the market that has a price tag.... Therefore, you should not even look at the market of games available when sizing up DayZ, which is what your OP seems to be for.

When I had friends, we used to talk about Zombie Apocalypse Survival, I was always the guy who made it hard for everyone else to survive by objecting towards every idea created. I made it hard on them. They hated me for it. I buzz-killed every idea. When you play, imagine me on your shoulder, that is DayZ and possibly Rockets intentions. (Rocket> DayZ creator)

DayZ is the chance to say, I can survive a Zombie apocalypse.

Once you respawn on DayZ, Consider your life expendable, take risks and focus on reaping every percentage you can whilst your life last, afterall, you're just a random guy, just like all the Zombies used to be...

For once in everybodies life, we have the chance to say..... This is not a game.
