  1. you're not even helping the development of the game if your only motive is to hop on, server hop 30 million times, just to kill everyone along the way while you loot every military loot spawn.

It's going to be in development forever (the perfect excuse for failure) until they kick the bucket, people have to be able to enjoy the game for what it is, eventually lol it's not like it's our job to play this game.. oh wait.

How can you help the development of the game by playing the opposite of the way you mentioned... So by interacting with players in Roleplay, being friendly or something  , I'm helping the development of the game? HOW? It would be better if I logged bug reports EVERYDAY, Uploaded footage of bugs everyday AND STILL KOS'd everything i saw... Rather than play safe and friendly and not log bugs or upload footage of bugs etc.

How have you helped the development of the game by playing the way you play?

It's a horror game, it#'s fucking scary out there, put youself in other ppls shoes if you can. You run  around for hours, days.. not seeing a soul and by word of mouth.. don't trust anyone..then bam a player. I am surprised.. that you are surprised.  It's like the spider.. are you more scared of it, than it's scared of you?

(if they sound like a kid, more or less.. waste them, fuck em, shouldn't be playing anyways and don't try to be the good guy, be the guy who survives.. there's no such thing as good or bad)

  2. That being said, there probably should be a modern long range rifle in DayZ but I also believe that  long range sniping should be made extremely difficult given all factors involved (weapon condition, wind, bullet drop, and even temperature/humidity can likely effect how a projectile travels).

That's like saying you want CHEAP OIL.. but don't want to create suffering 3rd world countries being tortured by regimes/religions to create chaos... to get it.

rifles are fine how they are (they should vary, but never within stupid ranges), stop being greedy bitch COD fan-boys (with the exception of the PTRS-41) lets face it, all you're looking for is cinematics.

You say anti tank, but really, it's anti everything, anti players, anti roleplay and anti climactic. It does not fit in the spectrum of dayz imo, Arma 2+3, yes, not DayZ.

Let the modders do it but keep it off the official servers, i say. All i see are players firing from the hip and turning bandit for no other reason than the convenience of owning a 50.cal.. which is anti-dayz "SA", how far has the dev crew come to curbing KOS and making it cooler to engage players, without KOS.

50.cals are counterproductive imo (but inevitably they'll be added to combat heli's, unless they're uber weak and can be engaged with smaller calibers)

  4. ^^^I'm a long distance cyclist and can tell you that blurred and even tunnel vision can occur during prolonged cardio. (This is illustrated well in the movie, The Flying Scotsman)

I don't like it tbh, a needless implementation unless you're very fatigued.

You're talking about Endurance Sports... This is just going from building to building.. looting. In a town or city, You have to get in & out. (Unless you're poking out of every window with a gun, looking for people following you).

You're not exactly pushing yourself to the limits,

  5. -I'm talking about prolonged periods of time being away from loot / water sources (not talking about your activities in the game)

-I find water bottles all the time as a fresh spawn, but they are often empty but I usually take them with me to fill 'em up as soon as possible or, if I don't have space and find something more interesting, drop 'em again.

-I'm not sure if atm it makes a difference in the game if you hydrate using soda or water but I agree that soda's should hydrate you less. I do notice many times a soda will up your energy level (sugar?) and I don't think water does the same but am not sure.

~ Being away from loot & water sources is very hard to accomplish.

~Loot is often best found in a town.. it hurts me to say.. most towns have a well. (Wells are so retro, don't they have taps? Isn't it 2014'sh??)

~I agree that soda should have perks... but it should also have worse downsides... Health is a fickle thing.

  6.  Once I'm hydrated... I'm almost always hydrated. My activity leads to find multiple water holes/pumps. I'm never thirsty.

It's flawed because soda is drank on on the spot as a fresh spawn and as a fresh spawn, finding a water container is kinda rare and soda cans keep you fine and quenched until you find a river, well or pond.

Thirst for me has never been an issue.

Caffeine makes you thirsty. If you stored Soda in a bottle for later.. Later you'll find water.. making the stored soda obsolete.

It's not a great suggestion... but hey.. the devs can be sadistic... they might let it happen just to fuck up new players  :D

  7. The resolution is strange tbh. I've prone'd on a hill and watched a town a few times and it's blurry.. until several seconds later, it becomes clear and I can see every pixel.

I think fatigue de-rezes your view, so he may have never taken the time to catch his breath... making things blurry. I don't like it tbh, a needless implementation unless you're very fatigued. I entered branzino from the north and the first shed I looted, a person trapped me inside with auto-fire and strafed into view, spraying me... I was in 3rd person.. Scanning every angle.. Must have been the resolution drop from fatigue

This individual must have never taken the time to get his breathe back like how I died.

I think it's an overcomplicated, needless idea to blur your vision due to fatigue.

  8.

There is water literally everywhere.  And if you have 3 soda cans, you would have to go somewhere to loot....

And did you even read my post?  I said it was viable.  Or do you need a thesaurus to go with your ad hominem posts.

Should it be possible?  Sure.  Is it necessary?  I think not.

    Agreed.

Soda is only good for fresh spawns.. since when did fresh spawns have a canteen/water bottle?

edit: If you want to save a soda.. hold it in your hands.

  9. Helping other people.
    Is that even a sentence?

What you can suggest... Spray Paint in hand... walk up to wall... scroll.. click ~Spray Text~  "ENTER TEXT"... Text sprayed on walls

Reading through idea and list of things to do from devs, clan tags might be able to be sprayed on walls.. this is seems possible i hope

  10. I presume I have to assume... Everybody drinks from their canteen without it touching their lips, to prevent saliva getting into the canteen.

A pristine, disinfected bayonet / screwdriver, combined with pristine alcohol soaked rags. Canteen/water bottle Cleaner. Job Done.

Right click, Un-combine and hey presto, thread is dead  :P

  11. I can't believe nobody has dropped this link yet.

    http://dayz.gamepedia.com/Main_Page

No doubt, you're thinking about DayZ when your not playing it. You might think of an item and what it can do.. what weapon can take what clip, what bullet and attachment... what can you do with pelts.. knives, tools.. Just before or after you play DayZ... browse the page to either get in the mood or cool down.

  12. Other games without Zombies... Most similar games to DayZ first.

    Arma II

    Arma III

    Red Orchestra 2

    Battlefield 2

    Battlefield 1942

    Call of Duty 2

Heroes and Generals (Free to play)

    Day of Defeat source

    Battlefield 4

    Battlefield Bad Company 2

    GTA online

    Counter Strike

    Quake 3

    Star Wars Battlefront 2

    The Sims (First one)

Wtf? Seriously why are you playing DayZ standalone if you don't like zombies?

All the time I think this.

Most of these kids have probably never seen a zombie movie other than that Brad Pitt scat. He's just your everyday, super attractive, scarf wearing, spanish speaking, airplane piloting, sharp shooting stay at home dad.

I have a friend even, all he wants to do is glitch and dupe. Kill players and loot.. even though he's fully tricked-out already. Me and a friend ask him, why are we going to NWAF to kos? He says because its the most fun part of the game...fun part of the game... fun part.FUN.

Fun? since when was DayZ all about fun? Since it became... Mainstream?

  13. Maybe poison could be added to the bolt tips? Wouldn't kill anything right away but you better have antibiotics on you.

I wish they'd implement some kind of damage over time until one bandages (and presumably removes the bolt/arrow)

I was going to mention both of these. Extract blood from a zed with hypodermic needle or use a bolt you've previously shot a zombie with (i presume you'll be able to retrieve some).

Like.. Bleeding won't stop unless you remove the arrow. Removal of the arrow makes you lose some blood, if you have pliers and have been shot in a limb, less blood loss from removal. Having a bolt in you, prevents you from sprinting.

Also, crossbow bolts seem even rarer than the crossbow itself which puts me off using it, shame if they were common, more people might use it which encourages testing, bug finding

I think the crossbow has a good chance of surviving criticism once a few more features compliment it.

  14.  Making it so players can only adjust gamma in the main menu will only lead to players adjusting their gamma settings before they join a night server, and readjusting it for when they join day servers. It'll only affect players who see dawn and dusk.

I never knew those players still existed! The servers too! (Damn, DayZ is in a sorry state isn't it, I didn't realise FPS twitchers and shallow players could cause so much damage)

For some reason, I get the feeling it'll never removed. Aspects of the game that can be exploited have all been around for so long, I get the feeling that the dev team are catering to their needs. (Unless I missed one of their statement, promising to deliver the Dayz experience)

  15. Well if food was rare, what makes you think the player you kill will have food? It'll likely lead to fruitless killing. Not only that but food will most likely be ruined anyway

I agree about ammo boxes. I searched a town (North-East port town) and could have left with...
    80x 357.rounds,
    160x 380. ,
    30x 12 Gauge,
    150x 22.
    20x 7.62x41mm

And I searched less than 50% of the loot spawns.

Oh, and I agree with stress-testing survival aspect. For too long we've wined and dined like kings.

  16. The best fix for people changing the FOV is to only make it accessible in the main menu, thus still giving each player there own choice in what they want it to be, just making it so they can't exploit it in game

Same could be done for gamma and brightness setting maybe?

  17. Oh yes.

    But not in cities.

Would be more cool if you see a horde of 30 zombies roaming in Old Plains or somewhere excluded where it is normally really boring to travel throuII like that

I like that. For people who will be farming, setting up camps, living off the land outside of cities etc, it would be interesting to fight off a wondering zed horde.

  18. lol 1st time I've seen somebody sorry for killing a bandit.

I live by new rules set for myself as a survivor.. "If you see me or become aware of my presence then my chances of survival drop from 100% to 50%. I don't set-out to kill but if I do, it's unfortunate that they have to die".
So I feel no sorrow, I only hear the sound of static-noise and my heartbeat as I recognise the horror of what it takes to survive.

As long as you recognise your moral situation, you're still one of the good guys.

(I'm surprised you thought it was hacked tho)
