I haven't been killed by another player yet. (Other than when my friend accidentally AXED me with a fire-axe when we were trying to boil rice) I died when running off a shed, which does not count IMO, I'll post a vid soon, It's obvious why the barns are empty, you'd die if you fell so it must be work in progress.. I usually just have to restart when bugs or failed restarts occur. so... I would have had a very long life if I could cut-out all the elements of Alpha.

You guys realise this will only be an issue after 3-4 weeks of survival time? not many of you will reach this point and by then, you'll begging for an excuse to make survival harder than it already is.

you say that because you brush daily. I mean, there'll be a system in place to determine health, depending on how healthy the food is, if you eat fruit or junk food... how is this idea any different? Good idea. Might help guide players towards are more realistic approach, instead of looking for 40/40 KOS servers, after they've server hopping on the 0/40 servers all day. Might reduce server hopping until there's a fix. I like this because servers are like musical chairs. I enter an empty server, I leave because too many player are jumping in/out. I enter a moderate server, either people empty out soon after, creating a server hoppers paradise or it turns into a 40/40 server. I enter a full server, to find server hoppers having fun with their ill-gotten gains, generally a more aggressive server, along with 1337 snipers camping for teh cheap thrillz. I want to encounter players, but knowing that they're gonna shoot you 24/7, takes the interest out of the game. Might as well play Arma 3. Making server counts invisible would be interesting. I'm sure it would be an experiment and I can't see the harm it could do to try for a month, it is Alpha after all....

I can't imagine how crap it would be to play DayZ without any FPS experience. Start off with something simple. like Minecraft or Half-Life 1. Get used to the keyboard and mouse. Then get her to watch the Walking Dead. Hint at trying DayZ in a month or two after she's picked up on the handling. That's even if she buys into it. Wouldn't you have to buy another PC for the real experience of playing together?

It looks like he simply threw a regular Holster over his shoulder. Because it's chaffing on the neck and it's high onto his rib-cage. They made shoulder based bullet storage back then, so it would have fitted better if it was intended for chest use, although it's not really on his chest. The gun still relieves from the waist. Also, the trade off between rarity of waist holster and chest holster is hilarious considering the police most likely owned more holsters than the civilians. Holster is for walking around with a gun and last time I checked, most people who own guns, get a holster as a novelty or spend a whole day on the range fairly regularly I'm looking to deep but the chest holster just feels ugly to me, the sooner they real holsters, the better. Soon, we'll be shouting, "Dios maldito Bandidos!!!" (God Damned Bandits!)

I agree with a lot of this. Except for the Hat... With Russia, it just don't fit. (maybe if a fancy dress shop is added to satisfy peoples quirky needs) Because the pistol is a viable gun now, I do sometimes ignore the other weapons in favour of simplicity, being able to reach for my pistol in a second a copping off some shots, is very gunslinger-like. So right there and then I wanted to be a feared pistol user. When I put it into context i realised 2 thing. when you pull the pistol out of the holster, it's defaulted as a lowered weapon. Counter Intuitive. Even to avoid the KOS nature, the gun would already have been in the holster, which would be enough, I think. I've never Ever seen a holster like that, Diagonal on the chest. It looks awful and feels awful.

I presume it's common knowledge after watching many DayZ Dev presentations (especially through E3). I don't feel like backtracking through dozens of videos i watched months ago to satisfy loose curiosity (no offence)

My memory is hazy: I picked from somewhere that diving gear is not worth pursuing.. You need Air compressors to fill your oxygen tanks, once you've used all the oxygen. If you think about the time it takes to implement that, alongside the factor of, "You getting loot"... then "how many Russians go diving locally in Chernarus?" It's simply not realistic.

There's that Crashed Cargo ship North of Berazino. It has Bullet proof vest and military clothes. If you haven't found a weapon between there and the spawn point... then look a little harder. There's also docks, satisfying your coastal loot needs About you second point: I'm that's beta material. There will be boats and there's an island already. You should know it. Give some time and space for the dev's they'll go crazy and add tons of maritime content, I hope Third point, in order to reach water logged gear, surely you'd have to wade through water to get it... making your own gear water logged.... kinda defeats to point, don't you think? Anything in the ocean would sink. Add super rare diving gear.... to search for sunken aircraft carriers, you're going to get cold... perhaps you might suffer... but you'll get that loot if you're prepared :)
