I'd say YES. It's not part of the Arma 2 design and it gives off the same aura as Gamma hacking during the night (Ye its not hacking, i know). It screws with the original design. It is un-natural. Me and my friend use it, only because other do. WHICH IS SHIT, Caps intended. We like how the ambient coms work and until radios are added, we won't complain. It's just crap, we're denied the challenge and the chance to grow, in terms of experience and team work. Teamspeak...Don't get me started. I could go on for days. Surround a single player with team speak coms. LEGIT. Are you KO'd.. don't worry.. talk to your friends with physic powers and let them know you need help... because otherwise, you'll have to rely on team work...... team work means shit. Who has time for that????? I'm busy getting a 16 kill streak............. EDIT: Oh, it's just a video game? You can do what you want. OK, I'll hack a few things to make myself have some advantage that others dont..... -_- ..... like teamspeak bitches!!!! woo!

That's a really good idea. You can go weeks or months without flying a chopper at times. And during all this time, you assume or convince yourself that you're a good pilot. BUT REALLY, it's all a matter of practice and you should keep up that practice. You start flying a chopper after weeks of not flying and it can be like learning to walk all over again, even if it just takes less time. It's still worth burning some spare time on the editor to make sure you don't get your fellow survivors/bandits killed.

If I'd never played video games in my whole life.... and played what I've listed in 1 straight session, it would be me, playing video games for a whole year , no breaks, no sleep, non-stop. Final thought: This is just a guide for new players, or an update for things that amateurs may have missed. That's fine, but read previous topics and make sure you're not repeating the same old crap that everyone already knows. Why on earth this person used ethnic prejudice and compared zombies to people with Special Needs is beyond me, but such things have no place in a guide for new players. I understand that. It's really not about the ethnic prejudice, it's the fact that somebody would type up whatever they could, without thinking of the consequences or other people. Not only that, but causing emotional distress and taking no responsibility for their actions. It's not "offense" when you're objecting towards Hitlers view on the people with special needs. It's a just cause. I see that other people from the UK see no problem with what's been said, that's fine but recently, I've seen how that attitude can affect people (in other matters, outside the forum). I was debating with some guy on the side channel once.... He was in a tight spot, I told him that the debate was over and i no longer respect his opinion... He presumed i was from the USA. After that, I dug him into a hole, called him a dick and he had nothing to say afterwards. He accepted that he was a dick whilst my american friend watched. You didn't mention the special needs factor either which is something nobody would touch on, i understand. Not many people understand that. So the logical thing to do, is accept that you have no experience in the matter, apologise for whatever grievance caused and move on with a better understanding of the people you live with. It's not offense, it's pain of an emotional level, It's not for my own benefit, being here, telling you, how you are making people with special needs feel like zombies, it's not for my benefit. TBH, I'm struck by how I've had to defend this. It's not like we're talking about politics or religion, we're talking about a persons life, a life which has been struck with misfortune. The day you face a person laying on a hospital bed, saying: "LOL you look like a zombie" Is the day where logic dies and the meek inherit the earth. Sports relief is something that many people do, celebrities included. It helps raise funds for those with "Special Needs"

I haven't found one either and every time i find a M203 flare, I feel sad that i have to leave it behind. Don't care for the explosives tbh. It's just a shame that the M16A2 M203 has such blunt iron sights. After a while I could get used to it but eventually, it could be the death of me, long range, which is what rifles are for... Blunt sights are not something you wish for. And the Tragectory sights are blinding to some degree. I Think: It's a weapon you store in your tent, if you have knowledge of groups of players, grab the gun and flares... Use the flare as a diversion whilst somebody attacks from the opposite direction. The flares are an eye sore, can't help but look and let your guard down. Maybe even attract a passing heli. Friendly? good... Random Heli.. it'll come closer and a friend with an AS50/M107 can shoot it down... for the lolz

Ha. Don't expect an answer from any Question about Mt dew. I asked once about what else it did and i remember how the fabled 'Rocket' replied in such a way that left mystery to the item (might be my imagination or simply something else i read> But). I'm pretty sure he is adamant on keeping it a mysterious item, it's rare for a reason, I'd say. I suspected that it raised your total health beyond the threshold, like a bullet proof vest, but who knows? Unless there's a player willing to explore the myth and post it on youtube, I can't give any facts.

We need a thread dedicated to road flares. (I'll search now) If a thread is created with great info, i think it's worth a sticky in the guide section because 1/2 of Dayz is night survival and flares play an important part of that 1/2. I remember a player (turned friend) throwing flares at the building i was looting. I had no Zombie agro but as soon as the flares were the flares were thrown, zeds walked upstairs to my area and put me in an awkward position. To think that simply throwing a flare at the right spot at the right time can give a player so much grief. Flare Strategy needs to be explored.

You think that being offended is a choice? Narcissistic prick. Your guide sucks btw, it's missing a lot of info and the makarov is actually quite good as long as you know its limits. I could make a better one and I'm pretty sure you only made this for popularity points. There's nothing here that can't be learned in the 1st few playthroughs. You think you're being creative but you're not. The makarov is very quiet, if used in-doors, kill what zombie you need to, clear a path and run.. Most players who hear it from a distance, won't know which direction it came from and telling a player not to pick up a gun is just dumb. Flares: you can't talk about theories when posting a guide, it can get people killed. What you should have said is: When throwing flares, you should always throw 4-5 in a 360' direction and 1 for where you actually need the light,. Throw some towards places you aren't going to explore. This will make it harder for players to pin-point your position. If you're using flares, only use them if you can't see a thing. There's no need to otherwise. There's always the Fireplace. Make a fire outside of town, 2 or 3 in a long line, give yourself space (at your own risk, considering server population). That way, you'll have a safe zone where you can retreat to, where there are no zombie spawns. Retreat, pick of the zombies, collect yourself and try again with more caution. Because you were looking for a quick fix of popularity. Dammit, if you're gonna post a guide.. do it right.

I enjoyed that. The past few weeks, I haven't seen a CZ anywhere and every time I find one, I simply have no use for it but it's still one of my favorite guns.. even tho I have no idea what sort of damage it deals in combat like that. You certainly satisfied my curiosity

Arma 2. You'll get used to the controls, no matter what game you play (in general) so the controls and the feel of the game is not an issue. What you need is player Vs player experience. Not the bad kind where you shoot on sight, but the common sense kind. Identifying targets. Identifying weapons. Movement in combat. How to recognize if you've been spotted etc. Without a grasp on all that + more.. You'll be a sitting duck or a headless chicken... and I'm talking about within the 1st few weeks, not days. Maybe months even.. In DayZ, these experiences [Edit: (Player encounter experiences) ] can be days between each other, maybe more. (depending the server). It could take you weeks to build up the experience that Arma 2 can teach you in a day. You'll save yourself time and trust me, You'll learn a lot more along the way. Play the campaign and single player missions. Arma 2 original missions can be quite an up hill struggle your 1st time around but still worth a try. The PMC DLC has better missions for newbies and you'll get the HD clothing & weapons used in DayZ You'll be wasting so much time if you jump into dayz 1st without getting the basic combat experience.

I think the whole money making scheme with these "donations" has to stop tho. If not stopped then investigated somehow.

I hope it doesn't happen to the stand alone a few months after release... 10,000 lobbies full of crap. I think Rocket & Co. will have to take action because it's ridiculous with all these "Donation/ Payments" to get yourself a load out whereas any hacker would be mobbed on the side chat for having it. Ok if you pay for it, not if you hack for it. Total hypocrisy. If it was a donation, you would not get anything in return.
