    Anyone telling you they are using DayZ Commander, is lying.  It's gone.  You should use DayZ Launcher, I find that still works, and finds servers.

     

    These fora support the standalone and the mod (but it gets confusing here, as "the mod" means the vanilla mod.  But Overpoch and Epoch are not supported. Overwatch is almost dead. There might be one server left but again, these fora do not provide support).

     

    Good luck. Ask if you've any other questions.  Oh and on Launcher I see some servers that 60 and 70 players every day. So people are still playing  :thumbsup:

    I play daily, and the best way to play is just however you want to play it. As to sniping, well that's just one way though I would never snipe anyone other than AI.

     

    I play as a survivor, which can be hard with the mods because you think you're doing great, you've survived four months and suddenly the server changes to another mod and your survival is gone! Argh!

     

    Got to love DayZ.  :thumbsup:

    I just tried downloading this as my favourite overwatch server (Dreist) swapped to overpoch but I still can't find any instructions on what to do to download it.  It's all about vague. Do this is if you that, go here and get this if you don't use that. Argh!

     

    I know this is an old server and might not still be running but I thought the instructions would be the same wherever you download it to play on most servers.  And now I'm regretting posting here.

    That sounds like good advice, though I'm no expert on Arma 3.  I do have it but only tried it once.  I play Arma 2 and the DayZ mod too. 

     

    No, I don't think you can play on Arma 3 servers without Arma 3.  They are mutually exclusive, as are their mods.  I know because I can't play with my mates when they are in DayZ mods for Arma 3. 

     

    If we can clarify anything more, let us know.

    Every answer is "...because it's an alpha" but that's because it is an alpha.  

     

    Also, I remember Rocket saying something a few years back about how there was a possibility of going underground to build but that would require links like you got in world of warcraft, where when you travelled to another place, you were changing servers, or something like that.

    I've got complaints about this thread so I'm closing it temporarily  until I can have a read of it and decide who needs to banned/ass kicked etc.

     

     

    Edit:  I don't  post a lot and I don't intervene often.  However, after the complaints about this thread, I'm pissed off at having had to read this pile of whining, argumentative junk.  So if you cannot have a discussion without turning it into some kind of fight, stop posting. 

     

    Do not make me have to deal with more reports about this childish nonsense.  Pretend to be mature, civil adults or I'll give the lot of you a nice long posting vacation.

    Interesting. I tried to join yesterday when no one was on it.  Suddenly I was joined by a player and second later the server went down and when it came back up I couldn't get in.  Today I tried and the moment I joined I got the message "you were kicked".

     

    Sounds like overenthusiastic use of the kick button.  So players can't "come and bring your friends".

     

    I might drop bye your teamspeak to find out what happened.

    I just revisited the server I mentioned yesterday and I can't get in. It just kicked me the second I tried to join and says I was kicked from server.  If people want a private server then they should make it private so others can't join. What a git!  *sulks*

     

    Edit: Just found it's a new server and announced its opening back in February.  Ironically, it's called relentless hardcore! Hah! The zombies don't even attack, they've been made permanently passive.  No wonder I was finding it fun.  :huh:

    Was enjoying latest version on a UK server. One other player joined and asked if I speak Russian. (He clearly spoken perfect English.) I said "No, sorry I'm English". I'm sure the bugger promptly kicked me from the server.  It's that sort of admin abuse that's so unfair.  You just know you're dealing with a fourteen year old, and there's nothing anyone can do about it. 

     

    Really, loving this latest version.  The balance between achievable and struggle to survive seems so much better to me.  :thumbsup:

    It would be great if those things were true and worked in the game but as some have said, exploiters get their hero gear and still kill others.

     

    I rarely earn humanity to get hero status but I help everyone and in all the years I've been playing, only killed one person because despite my warnings he just would not coming towards me.

     

    I find I play lone-wolf and quiet servers because every single time I help someone I end up dead.  I still do it but it would be so nice not to end up dead after being alive for say 3 months and find you're dead again because someone wanted a wheel on your car.  :huh:

     

    I still play every single day if I can and still love it.  This latest version of the mod is great though I dislike all the making things or "crafting" as it seems to be called these days.  I like to hunt, kill zeds and travel round the map.  Making things isn't for me.  :thumbsup:
