No idea. Different people prefer different loaders but dayz commander has always been the best, most reliable and easy to use in my view.

Been playing just over two years. Never killed another player, just AI and zombies. I play survivalist stylee, not mindless kill on sight stylee. :thumbsup:

Yes, I agree, the coast can have advantages for noobies. On the other hand, you'll probably die of thirst long before you make it inland. Good luck!

Personally, one of the things I dislike about downloadable games is the devs never seem to provide effective help and info the way games on discs do in manuals, when the games are finally complete. I have found they're all like that. Best of luck if you stick with it, mate. PS I should confess I was a technical author so I do have a bee in my bonnet about that sort of thing.

I don't know much about epoch but I believe you need to find the admin of whatever server you're on and they will be able to release you from the glitch.

I play on servers using the 1.7.1 (I think, not played for about 2 months as pc broken and this laptop can't take dayz). I too dislike the cartoon-like graphics especially for the health status levels and backpack. I love the simplicity and ease of use of the 1.7. (However, when I last played the latest version was pretty damn good despite the graphics. I found it far less glitchy and the zombies were challenging without being unbareable, and you could survive without starving/dehydrating to death because they'd tweeked the food spawns etc.) Probably no more than a couple of servers running 1.7 patch but maybe do a search? :thumbsup:

I don't know anything much about epoch so I can't help you, I'm afraid. Someone here might be able to advise but we're mainly focussed on the DayZ mod. Good luck, mate.

DayZ takes all types. Some kill for the fun of it and some of us have never killed another player in the couple of years we've been playing. Mostly people fall between the two extremes. It's also a matter of the admin on a server/hive setting the approach. If they're helpful and friendly you'll find a lot of the players will be too. They'll work together to defend against the more juvenile/aggressive players who just want to kill. I'm a survivalist so I don't kill anyone but would if I had to.

I agree with Razor. Sneaking is how I learned to play. I remember when I'd help noobs they'd be so surprised that you can almost walk/crawl passed zombies if sneak by quietly. They were used to running, which gets you noticed. If zombies could run inside it would make it insanely hard to pick up anything even when sneaking. :o

If you've only been banned from a server or hive then you can still play on others. If that's the case, then the lesson learned is don't do what you did again or you'll keep getting banned from servers/hives and no one will play with you. If you're globally banned your screwed. You can't just buy another version as your copy isn't banned, you are.

Food can be scarce but if you reached Kamyshovo then you've passed both the big cities Cherno and Elektro (my personal favourite for everything - as there are some great loot spawns for everything in both cities, and many enterable buildings too). :thumbsup:

Epoch is not part of the dayz mod, it's a separate mod. Remember many who play the mod (chernarus) will not be able to answer as they don't play Epoch and don't know about "buying" items or equipment.

Open arma and go to the controls menu, use the various sub menus to alter video, sound, graphics settings etc. Ask, if you need more specific information. :thumbsup:

Hi Zombieland. In terms of the mod (not other versions created by other people like Epoch and Overwatch but the Chernarus mod) you will find the best places to find backpacks are stores, cafes and fire stations. Sometimes airfields too. :thumbsup:

If you use DayZ Commander it will show a list of your recent servers. :thumbsup:

What you get when you start all depends on whose server you play! Sounds like the flashlight was an earlier point in development. These days some servers spawn you in with a rifle, or an axe or anything, sometimes just flares and a bandage. :thumbsup:

Hi Zombieland, welcome to the forums. When you join a server run up the beach, keeping the water on your right side. You eventually come to small villages and eventually big towns. Your best bet for finding axes is barns brown wood ones or the long cream plastered barns. Never spawn in and run up hill away from the water. You will find it hard to find food or drinks until you are knowledgeable of the map. Food can be found in supermarkets, cafes, and houses. If you find an axe, a hunting knife and matches you can hunt and kill animals and prepare your own steaks. If you have any other questions just ask us. :thumbsup:
