Oh I love that SUV limo. I used it every day this last month in the Armory of Arrowhead. But today I got Day Z working, and apparently you can't play sp or mp arrowhead if you play day z :( Shame, I've driven all over Chernarus in it. So smooth a ride and almost silent. :)

I'm not sure how to ask for help, I think it was by posting a request, is it here? I've only just started playing though I've been trying to get the game to work for about a month. I've virtually no blood left and I'm lying in Cherno. As I approached the city I climbed a ladder at the outskirts of an industrial area while being attacked by a following zombie. I ran down some cement stairs and am lying between two big cylindrical tanks. There was a big taller part to the buidling but it was all a blur by then. Is my description hopeless? My avatar is female and I don't know if I had time to choose a name, could be player 1 or sula. Even if you could find me how would it work? Would I have to tell you a server name and be there at a set time? Thank you. Sula

Only just found this forum! Hello. I'm Sula. I've been trying to play day z for about a month with no success. Yet last night's latest download and reinstall attempt worked. I suspect battle eye (is that what it's called) caused it because McAffee asked me if I would allow access to it and I said yes, always. But I've never been asked before, so maybe that's why day z wouldn't work? Today I played my first game and lasted a few hours before thirst drove me into town and a zombie caught me. I thought I'd died a second time but I checked and I'm lying in a heap in cherno bleeding out and prayer for death. I have no desire to kill other players, would never kill an unarmed person, and if I had a weapon I would only use it if shot at first or to kill the evil zombie swarm. :) I live in the suburbs of London and would love to meet up on a server with friendly people to explore and survive together! Might sound mad but I'm glad it did that to mine. McAffee just decided no way are you getting access pal and didn't even ask me. After weeks of trying, battle eye reinstalled itself and McAffee asked me, so I said always let it access and suddenly today I can play after weeks of frustration. :)

Ah right. I have mine turned off. He was saying he'd been attacked, and as I'm currently lying in a heap in Cherno with about 4 teaspoons of blood and the entire world is a grey blur, I guessed he might be bleeding to death like me. :) If there some key shortcut to take people to youtube on this site? Twice now I've had to restart replies to topics as I keep being taken to day z vids on youtube. Odd.

Senz, there's nothing wrong with your pc or your graphics card. Your screen is blurry because you are bleeding to death. You got scratched by a zombie and you need food and or a blood transfusion. Good luck, I hope someone will help you.

Same as you, been playing for a couple of hours but I watched 3 or 4 weeks of vids by devildog, zemalf, sacriel and the totally brilliant nooby noobster to pick up the basics, as I couldn't get dayz to work. I survived a couple of hours but died when I couldn't find water and I took my axe from my toolbelt but couldn't get it to swing - got eaten. Second time, I got chased and eaten after a Benny Hill type run across hillside for ten mins. The best advice I can give is this. The second you arrive 1) hit the ground and then 2) look around you to see where you are. If you don't do 1) zombies won't give you time to do 2). After that, I'm a novice but I try to get under cover from snipers and zombies. Snipers are far more deadly than zombies if you're visible. And then I'd say find some pals to look out for you, to meet up and swap stuff. That's what I'm hoping to do. Also, if by some miracle I find a weapon one day - I will never kill anyone who is unarmed, nor who has been friendly or helpful to me in the past. You have my word. So if you need help and you see me on a server and I can help you, let me know. I'll do what I can. Look out for Sula or sometimes Sulalee, as that's my full nickname/username. :) PS. Don't be disheartened. I loved every minute of it and can't wait for my pal to be free to play later tonight. If you're around you should feel free to say hi or join us.

Total newbie here. So of course, I love everyone, don't want to kill anyone and am just so happy to finally have access to the game that I can't stop grinning like a baffoon! So this something-or-other about chat channels and not using them (why?) -would that be why, when I joined my first ever game, a couple of hours ago and said hello, no one replied? Ah I don't mind. I love them all. Good being new, innit? :D

I forgot to say:The only difference was something called eagle-eye? popped up and said it was reinstalling itself. Other than that I don't know why I haven't been able to access the game over the passed three or more weeks. Happy ending though. :)

I tried both and got nowhere. I could get further to accessing a server before being kicked when I downloaded commander. However, after downloading and installing day z and six launcher and commander for about the 40th time, I just tried it earlier today and it worked! I lasted maybe I dunno a couple of hours with no weapon and no water. My desperate need for water drove me closer to the zombies and one of those rotten swines with the beret got me. I'm over the moon! And then I went right back in and lasted about ten minutes while the very same type of zombie chased me up a hill and down the same hill before it caught me. I must work out how to swing an axe! :D

Hi Zemalf, that sounds like a great idea. Sadly, I couldn't work out how to create a ticket to report help with downloading day z. So I can just about grasp maybe half what you're saying but have no idea how to do any of it. So I'm doomed to wander the forums forever, unable to even access a server after three or four weeks of trying to install it. (It's Sulalee (Susan O) by the way) :) I do miss your vids but it seems so hard for those trying to survive alone now that groups are lying in wait to kill anyone spawning. Actually, maybe I shouldn't be so desperate to get into those servers. :o/

I find this thread unbelievable and quite offensive. Some girl wants to be able to wear short skirts and have her breasts hanging out in a fighting/survival war game while doing nothing but wandering around the wilderness being shot repeatedly? Sweetheart, maybe this isn't the game for you. The idea is to survive by thinking carefully, being very quiet and not getting noticed, and for many players, killing zombies and other players too. Where exactly do you think you could hang around "looking nice"? Actually, you don't need a backpack. You could always stick your lipstick in your bra and you'll be fine. Frankly, if I saw those women images in Day z, that's if I could get into the ruddy thing, I'd shoot you myself! I've been very impressed by the adapted male avatar of a female player. It's respectful of women as players just like the male players. She's dressed appropriately, it's functional wear and she doesn't have huge breasts and a skirt so short you can see her knickers. So both the male and female players can get on with playing the game. Don't get me wrong. I have no problem with people wanting to dress like that but other than standing out to make female characters easier to shoot, what would be the point in this game? No guns, just survive? How? Where?

Burro, thanks! I've had to a similar problem. Still got some stuff stuck on my system but I'm too cautious of trying to delete it. I don't know how long I've had this game. Bought Arma 2 and CO just to play Day Z and cannot get it to install. Asked for help and people tried but I couldn't understand the advice about getting a ticket. Must be weeks I've had it. My friends all have it now and tell me I've done the same as then but I can't have. So I will take a look at dayzcommander. Thanks. :)

Oh thank you! I will create a ticket immediately. Honestly, I'm not half as dumb as I seem. Maybe only 25%! Now I just have to find out what application log files and RPT files are and away we go. *tries not to look utterly lost and wonders what to do next apart from panicking*

Hello, not sure if that reply was to me, Sickboy but I do that now. Though I just managed to screw up Arrowhead too now. It won't run. Instead I get 'Error creating Direct3D 9 Graphical engine'. One of my many problems is the same as Benz's. 'Waiting for host' or 'loading' message but nothing ever happens and I have to ctrl alt del out of game. I'm so tired of reading 'helpful threads' that don't help and threads that instruct me to list all my downloaded steam versions and my spec and what I did but I'm a girl, damn itl! I don't know most of those things. I paid my money to steam, clicked download and thought I got the latest version of the game. Then I used sixuploader and that's where the problems started. I'm afraid to post a thread asking for help in case I get in trouble or told to re-read the helpful threads yet again. I've watched so many youtube install dayz vids I'm going blind with exhaustion. I've a claw like hand from searching threads! I just want to fight zombies. :( I have a 100GB ssd drive (the one that doesn't spin, not sure of proper name), a terrabyte of storage on another regular drive and 8GB of corsair RAM (Chillblast said 16GB was too much), and Nvidia Gainward GeForce GTX 570 phantom card (1280MB) When I click on sixlauncher's list of servers, no matter which I choose, it appears to be accessing the chosen server but then takes me to Arrowhead's main menu. I choose multiplayer and find a server with a low ping, click on it and get 'connection failed', or 'waiting for host' or 'loading' and everything freezes, so I have to ctrl alt del out. Also, I notice that sixuploader is duplicating my programe files sub-directory and putting itself in there, instead of adding its software to my own identically named pre-existing programe files sub-directory where my steam software is kept. Anyone know why it's not working, what I might be doing wrong, or what I can do to fix this please? Sixuploader and launcher were recommended to me as reliable. Should I try a different game launcher? Thanks for any help anyone can offer. Thanks Sula
