It took me a couple of hours in a HMMV using roads and off road driving to go from Oisna to the far West of the South coast. Most people probably never make it across map. I wasn't doing it in dayz, I was using the armory to get a good vehicle and drive around before I could get dayz to work.

I wish you'd been around 15 minutes ago when I lay in cherno slowly bleeding to death since yesterday. I couldn't move, couldn't die. Just lay there and waited. In the end I crawled to a ladder, fell and died. :(

How does a list of servers answer my question? I didn't ask how many servers existed.

Hi Zemalf, as you know, I've watched and love every single moment of all your dayz videos. (It's Susan O. from youtube) I finally got access and played for the first time yesterday. Died and died but loved all of it. I can't recommend your vids enough. They're like little movies. I love them, and I felt like I went through all the hope and joy and despair with you. I will always remember the moment you found the matches. :)

Also, it's very amusing the way he's being slashed at and chased yet smoothly ignoring all the fleshing tearing zombies just to point out a particular bullet or hole in the road or something else the rest of us would run passed screaming "Heeeeeeelp!" :thumbsup:

Lol4Ever, but how do you make the axe work? I took it from my tool belt and tried clicking on it in menu, tried taking it but it won't swing. I just cllck at the zombies and they tear the flesh from my bones. :o

I bought arma 2 and CO just for dayz and have no real interest in war games. I just wanted day z and it's bloody hard work and you do feel a bit lonely and you die because you were a metre away from water or worse. But so what! It's still fantastic and the countryside is so beautiful and what the hell, I just love the whole thing.

Not sure if the follow things are related but here's what I noticed over the last two days. About a month ago I bought arma 2 and arrowhead so I could play day z. Downloaded it and six launcher but have never been able to play day z (until yesterday). 2 days ago I couldn't find any servers or run one myself to play in Arrowhead's armory. (That's where I've been driving and and flying etc while not able to play day z). That same night I decided to reinstall day z and six launcher etc again though I'd done this many, many times before without success. The only difference I recalled was that something called battle eye annoyed McAffee and I told it to always let battle eye have access. Never seen that in previous installation attempts. Yesterday I noticed when I booted up pc that arma 2 said it had finished installing or updating, something like that. I was surprised as hadn't known it was due to be updated. Wonder now if it was related to battle eye getting access via mcaffee. Thought I'd try to access day z just as a matter of routine and nearly passed out with shock - I got in! I died! It was fantastic. :) Later tried to play in armory but just got a photo and queried this in the forums - was told I have to delete sp, can't play sp, but this was a mp server I wanted to run so I decided to just leave it alone. Last night I noticed something on my start menu but only looked at it just now. It's a menu option in the start menu that is called: !!! MISSING STRING and the properties box says "E:\Program Files [x86]\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\BattlEye\UnInstallBE.exe" I'm loathe to mess with it as I can now play day z but it leaves me cautious of what other side effects might be lying in wait. Does anyone know what this means and whether I need to do anything please? I mean day z technically knowledge people, not friendly comments like hahah reboot and delete. :rolleyes: Thank you ;) Sula

Wow, really? 7 hours and no response. Sorry if this is the wrong forum. I thought there'd be experts here to deal with technical issues and say something like, yeah, happens all the time, it just means....

Is it maybe to do with server settings of Recruit/Veteran etc, like with not being able to see self on some servers?

Ah thanks, that explains a lot. When I turned on my pc today it announced "Arma2 is updated". I had no idea. :)

Unknownuser, is it possible that your screen isn't blurry, it's your eyes? Put down the bottle, man! Just kidding. :) You've done exactly what I was doing earlier today but I turned round and died in a building, near a road. So take all advice with a pinch of salt because nothing ever works perfectly. Don't run along side a road, people and zombies will kill you. Keep hidden among the tree edge and follow roads. I'd say water, food and a weapon are top priorites. In that order. Binoculars and a map would be great but they are few and far between. Good luck. :)

Would anyone like to share advice on kit like joysticks, mice, mics, those things where you turn your head and it turns in game so you can see better? I'll start the ball rolling. I keep hearing about skype but I haven't used it since it was being alpha tested and was free and buggy. Does anyone have it and recommend it? What about costs? Anyone recommend a good mic? Mine's a basic creative labs, HS450 but I wouldn't recommend it. The volume's far too low. Hard to hear stuff even at top volume.

Good vid. Shame about the sound, the fx vol was a little high for the voice vol. I really enjoyed it though and hope there are more to come. :) Today I spent a few hours crawling and crouching around the woods and when I got to the edge of town, I searched a fire station. Absolutely useless. No weapons, no water bottles or soda cans, no food. Just ammo and empty cans. Ah well, you never know what you'll get! Tomorrow's another day! :)

Hi, I have steam but don't yet know how to add people (didn't they say earlier it wasn't working?). I don't have skype, would I need it? I'm only interested in survival and violence for self defence, I'm not interested in killing innocents. I can play regularly. I am inexperienced and willing to learn. Quick to learn, hard working and friendly. I'm looking for people who want to take the time to help show me the ropes and help each other. :) Also, am in the UK and can play quite a few hours per day. Sorry but what is ventrilo? Thanks.

Lol Bron. More seriously, it's great that younger people want to get together to play with their peers, in peace. Please remember though, you never know who you're talking to or their intentions. Just take care and don't trust anyone who wants to talk too much, talk outside of the game or even worse, meet up.
