Continuity, I think it's maybe servers or the pure randomness of life. The other night, every single barn or shed I entered had four, five or six hatchets in them. Of course, NOW I can't find one! <_< Same happened yesterday with backpacks. I was falling over them and couldn't find a can of bean.

A big thanks to the guy who killed zombies and tried to save my life when I was bleeding out in the Cherno store. He told me to lie low and he'd go get some blood. I wish I'd known his name. I was amazed and delighted to find such a helpful player. :thumbsup: Then another player found my lying on the floor, shot me and ran on by. What a great guy. :rolleyes: Ah well that's the way dayz rolls. :D Another thanks to the bus driver who heard my reassurance that I was a friendly and rescued me from Balota airfield zombies, this morning with a bus! Sadly, I bled to death but what a kind thing to do. That was my first time seeing a real, actual running vehicle in dayz. It was exciting. :) And a big thanks to Catman, who I met up with today. We've been off exploring the hills. Amazing what you learn when you talk with other players. :thumbsup: Actually, I'm going to another thread inviting people to meet up.

That's why I felt so gutted for you, Disco. You realise that person is borderline sociopath? I agree with Hombre, it's sadistic and behaviour not normally found in anyone over the age of nine, unless they're sociopaths. I still feel for you. It leaves me sick to my stomach the thought of spending time in dayz, getting to like someone and know them and then they turn on you. It really isn't the behaviour of normal people. The names I gave you are of people you can trust. They might kill bandits and other people who shoot at them but they won't kill someone they've agreed to meet up with. :thumbsup:

Good point. Use sixlauncher of dayzcommander, not steam, which is just lazy and won't do what its meant to. I say that but you know I have been sitting here with a loading screen for 32 minutes. Been like that for 2 days. I could easily start screaming and never bother to stop. >:(

Thanks, Rudson. I kept saying I was dying but I was probably too polite and didn't make it clear that I meant dying right then. Plus I was the only one with a mic which makes it tricky. Good people though. I never found out who it was stopped for me with their bus when I was being chased by zombies. :thumbsup:

I will go into a server with you and we can have a friendly trek around the cities or wilderness. But we will probably die. That's why I say enjoy dayz life for what it is, not for what material gain you have made. Value what you can take with you when you die ;) I have to say the moment I saw the word Berezino I twitched. I thought, "Uhoh!". Newbies spawn on the Southern coast. From what I've experienced, those who are eager to get into a group, or a serious military approach team, move quickly North and die repeatedly unless they've made a pal via the forums who can get them in. One of two groups insist on training and tests to prove they are good enough to join. The further North you go, the quicker you will die, the more frequently and most likely by sniping. Many players want a gun, then a bigger gun, and so on and they want to shoot as much as possible, looting places and players. They are often in the big cities, Cherno is very dangerous. However, Berezino is even more dangerous, as are Zeleno and Stary to a lesser degree because they have all the eager-to-get-a-big-gun type of noobies, plus all the experienced players, and the exmarine type uberplayers too who use those places as their local grocery store. My view is, when you die, smile and be glad of the experience you have gained Then grit your teeth and get right back in there! :D :thumbsup: I love this game!

Ben, that was funny, shooting your patient. Please don't come work in my local hospital! But you went and got that person and you took them to their things. That was honorable, and I respect that. Sometimes it's hard to live that way but I don't want to change my values just because I get a bigger gun or have more power than someone else. :thumbsup:

Honestly, I think I could live forever if dayz was just me and zombies. That would be a singleplayer but it would be dull. A private server for your pals with everyone out to achieve the same thing would be great but eventually it would either get boring or people would bicker and break into groups, maybe kill each other. I think we are all survivors. Some are bandits. That doesn't mean that all bandits are bad people. I'm sure they're good to their mates in the game. Neither does it mean that the rest of the players are good guys. People having different views on who they will kill and under what circumstances. Mine view for me and me alone (I don't want to change the world) is: In every situation, I will try to avoid my own death in a non-violent way. If I have a weapon, I will not use it on a zombie unless I can't run away. I will not use it on a player unless that person is shooting at me. So I'm pretty much likely to die but I'd rather accep that than shoot and add to the shoot first culture.

Regulator, almost every post I've made is about me not killing anyone! I am on dayz to survive, and I don't shoot anyone, probably wouldn't even if they were shooting me and I could see them. Self defence is the only excuse to kill in my view. In elektro yesterday, I found nothing in the store except backpacks. Every spawn was a backpack. I thought it was a joke but that's all there was. I went to the office/school building near by as I heard flies. Climbed up and there were two plays. They had no guns but still wore backpacks. I rolled my mouse over them and it just showed the contents of my backpack. There was another player above them, on the upper roof. He was dead too, no weapons. The place had been cleaned out. The church was empty and so was the firestation. But someone had put barbed wire around the church, and one of the entrances at the back of the store and fire station. But they were lying dead trapped in the little area they had made in the store. Looked some alien had landed, killed everyone, took their weapons and loot and left their backpacks behind. That joke has been posted many times in many threads, and indeed, in this one already. I'm afraid we've heard it so many times that it's possible, your little brain might be the only one still finding it amusing. But good luck with that! :D

Great idea and I'm glad you answered that flash light question because so many people have buggy flashlights. Mine rarely work so I don't use them. I'd advise all new players to throw them away. The moment you use them, you tell every other player "I'm here, come shoot me" Here are a couple of questions from me - when I look at a dead player I get Examine Player, Open Pack... and so on. But when I try to open the pack I seem to have only the contents of my own pack. Is that because the other player's is empty and there is nothing in the left column to move to the right side? Also, what is the safest way to swap packs? I get confused because sometimes I can't drop my backpack by using the move left arrow and there's no drop button for the backpack. Should I take off my pack, take the bigger pack and then do I need to do anything else? I find my stuff is in the new backpack but others say they don't. thanks Sula

But they are out there. I've spoken to so many nice players in this forum. bradley.allen20 (skype name) is a good guy and keen to meet up with other people to play the game and get some good weapons. So add him on skype, and of course Stiffy too, who's another trustworthy player. Neither of these guys is going to turn around and shoot you. They are interested in working together not making enemies. Stiffy's skype is mikkla121. Add them and just say Sula said they were looking for people to make up a small group for dayz. :thumbsup:

Thanks, Ravin. Here's the funny part: in my eagerness to spawn back in to the game and get hold of another ghillie suit to replace the one I lost, I spawned as a man. Lying in Elektro for a couple of hours, waiting to meet up with the very brave, generous and trustworthy, Bianca, to collect the ghillie suit, I've never wished more that I already had one on me! :blush:

It's scary but you have to do it to get the stuff. :) What amazed me is Bianca didn't just go into the city, she waited for me, for hours. And you know what she asked for in return? Absolutely nothings. I wish there was some medal or award I could give her for bravery and skill. :thumbsup: Also, if you're looking for someone you can trust in the game, I'd say Bianca was very trustworthy.

And you're all over 18 right? Uhuh. I believe you, sure. Some wouldn't but it's clear to me. :rolleyes:

I spent 2 hours trying to give someone my ghillie suit today and a group of gutless snipers killed me. I don't have much but I have a tent and am prepared to go into cities to try to get things for you on order. Let me know if you have one you can't use please. I don't let people down, I don't not bother to turn up and I don't just bugger off to bed because I cannot be arsed to make the effort. Actually, no trigaar. As I've said in this forum before, I do not kill except in self defence. I rarely have a weapon. I offered the ghillie suit as I thought someone would appreciate it. As I expected, a sniper killed me. I had the ghillie suit and a hatchet. Yup, that's me, deadly. What I don't like, what has upset me is the player I offered the suit to died, and lost everything. I'm thinking about putting a bounty on the sniper's head but in the mean time, some really lovely, generous peopl have offered to give me their ghillie suits. I love DayZ :thumbsup: Bozo - yes I can :P

Though after the latest upgrade the zombies seem more alert than before. How can I be in darkness, surrounded by trees, crawling on my belly and suddenly aggro up to a dozen or so zombies? Mad. Guess I just have to run faster. ;)

I would love one of your suits, thank you. And I had a second person ask me this morning for my ghillie suit, he would still love one, if the other is still on offer. I spent the whole day with nothing but an axe and got sniped by a gang of snipers hiding, and here's the lousy part, it was bitch black out there. I don't care if I die 100 times a day, not coward is going to stop me loving this game. :thumbsup: My arrival with blood may be some days away. I'm sorry but on my own it's hard work. Getting a team together is harder. :(

ThatGuy, thanks. Bulletproof, not he died immediately after. It was a group of snipers calling themselves SNUFF. I'm tempted to offer a bounty for proof of death of anyone using SNUFF in their name. Indeed. I'm serious about this thread. I don't recall what I have other than the tent but I'll gladly give it all and go get more of whatever you want, if I can, for a ghillie suit. I promised someone that suit, and he and I both died trying to do a simple exchange, due to cowards.
