Actually, some very good points there, Anderson. I carry a rifle and a handgun but to kill zombies I use my axe. Unless I can't, then I use the hand gun. This is always a problem because the hand guns in dayz have been pisspoor since the devs messed with them. You're more likely to kill a zombie with verbal abuse and harsh looks than a bloody makarov! I carry a rifle because I can but frankly, I rarely hit zombies wirth them. And if I get a nice one then someone always wants it off me, and it makes me a tempting kill to bandits too.

He didn't shoot at you, and didn't see you. I'm glad I didn't see you yesterday. I was in Cherno in a ghillie suit, as I often am. I've never aimed my gun at another player, let alone shot someone. However, you were in a complex situation and you made your choice. Perhaps it wasn't the one you would have made if you'd had more time, and the circumstances were different. So there's not point blaming yourself for one decision. However, you're not just responsible for what you did yesterday or today. You're responsible for all your choices for the rest of your life. So it's up to you how you choose to live your life in dayz, the same as in real life. :thumbsup:

Anderson, of course, I haven't forgotten the hero-skin. This thread is about the speed and ease players can end up with a bandit skin when they are not bandits and how it makes you feel, if it happens to your friends or to you.

It amazes me how well people manage to play dayz without a microphone. It's such a convenient bit of equipment that you quickly get used to. Looking back to when I wasn't using one, I realised it takes more time to type "friendly" than to call it out. Same is true of all communication (and I'm a touch typist). I think all credit to those still using written chat because it's definitely more challenging. :thumbsup: :beans:

I'm putting this in the new player area, as it will help them as well as me. I think I hit something on my keyboard and now my player won't run straight ahead - he's just running off to the right but looking left. How do I switch it back to normal please? I tried ctr, alt, altGr, shift, enter, 5, 0, etc.

Nope. I don't have an answer, as is often the case with computers. It just did not want to work properly but is ok now. I've run from Berezino to Elektro and wanted to finish my journey today. So I'm delighted it's working again. Thanks again, to all.

Yes, definintely feels faster in some movements, like the zig zag you mentioned. But they're also, dummer than ever. I watch them running off down the road and I think, Oh someone else is in trouble and then I realise it's taking some crazy path to get to me! :huh: Also, even if you keep running, zombies will still catch you because their calls tell other zombies ahead and to your sides that you are in the area. So someone will get you in the end!

All I can see is my avatar from the side. I press up arrow and he runs but to me it looks like he's running right, across the screen, not like normally when I press up. I'm panicking because I'm going to die like this! I aborted and when I went bcak in it was still locked in place. I recall there's a button to hit and I've hit everything but can't remember what to do. Imagine or try to run with up and right held down - that's what I see all the time. I can't move as it's disorientating. I can't go back or forward etc.

No I was running and my left hand slipped and suddenly it's as though I'm running and holding down the forward and right keys at same time but I'm just using the up arrow.

I do, Deet. I've run many a clan and, indeed forums too. It's very stressful. But probation simply means, telling new recruits they can wear a new-recruit clan sign and if you see or get reports of unacceptable behaviour by them they will not be made a full member. :thumbsup:
