I'm up-to-date yet there are no dayz servers on my list, just arma2 ones - and yes I'm running the right game. :D When I run dayzcommander it finds a few servers, five or six but the pings are no longer 16-20 but 10,000. Anyone else had problems today? I had similar yesterday. I hope it goes away soon. I'm getting itchy fingers. I want to kill zombies! :(

Sadly, it didn't. I can't access my expansions, the up and down arrows are greyed out. Thanks for trying. Not really sure why it isn't working, so it's hard to know what to have a stab at fixing.

Yep, I like the M4A1 CCO SD too, and the PDW, M9 SD or G17 for a handgun. But the ammo is a pain. I like Lingor Island because you end up falling over G17 ammo everywhere. However, in Dayz I droped my M4A1 CCO SD for an M16A2. The stanag ammo is much easier to find than the stanag SD. I'm loving this M16A2 Never killed so many zombies before! And it's not too loud - not bringing in other ones from further afield. :thumbsup: But my dream weapons would be the M4A1 CCO SD with an abundance of SD ammo, and a silenced M9 just for the quietness.

I've had them and they are on the map. The pbx is excellent but rare. It has only one spawning point and in my experience is rarely on a server, and I've looked! Fishing boats you find along the coast. There's a map of possible locations of vehicles and how often they spawn - does not mean they spawn on every restart or on every server. Hang on let me see if I can find the page. No could only find this info. http://www.dayzwiki.com/wiki/Vehicles Does anyone else know which page or map lists the statistics on the chances of each vehicle spawning? I can't find it. Would be helpful here. Thanks. :thumbsup: I forgot to say: You can hide vehicles anywhere on or off map once you have them but the moment a helicopter sees it you can kiss it goodbye.

Are you building it or buying it and having it made to order? I agree with voodoo. I couldn't cope without my front access ports and sockets. :thumbsup:

I don't think it's fair to blame the players on a server marked "no pvp". It might not be their server. The admin can't stop people joining the server and killing other people and you can bet your last dollar that you were killed by a PvPer who ignores such localized "rules" and entered the server anyway.

If you want to be on the list consider yourself on it. The idea of the list is that everyone can contact everyone else on it and invite them to play dayz. There's a link the list of players before it was last updated further down this thread. As to the new forum and teamspeak being used by some of the people on the list, I don't know anything about it or their rules. You'll need to speak to them. :thumbsup:

Hi, welcome to dayz. Don't go anywhere near the NW airfield until you know what you're doing - it's far too dangerous. Check out deerstands for high military grade weapons and ammo. Fire stations in elektro and cherno are good but dangerous too. Everyone wants those weapons and ammos. Ghillies, I always find in the cafe across the road from the store in elektro. What you see on a map can depend on the server you're on. For example, you can hold down left shift and and right click a location on your map, while looking at the map. If you're on a recruit or regular server a green marker appears on your screen when you turn off map. So you know what direction and how far to travel. But it won't show on veteran servers. MikaelM told me he advises friends: "don't be greedy". I used slow and crouch. Walked right in next to the zombies, picked up an as50 and mag, turned around and walked away. No idea how it worked but it did. :thumbsup:

I don't know how long I've been playing this game. I couldn't play for about 4-6 weeks when I first got it but one day it just started to work. So while it wouldn't work I spent many hundreds of hours watching dayz on youtube and aching to play the game. Also, I spent some time in Arma2, using the armory to go for a drive around chernarus. But I could never pass the first tutorial.No matter how hard I tried I couldn't zoom in and stay zoomed in to shoot targets. So today I took Leadon's advice to practice in arma2. And what I finally learned, when I stopped to think and examine the controls, is - hitting 0 on the number pad toggles my scope so it zooms in until I hit it again (optics), and hitting the + sign on my number pad zooms me in even further and holds it until I hit + again. Suddenly I can kill zombies with ease if they're far away and even when they're up close, it's much easier too. Do give it a try if you haven't yet. :thumbsup: :beans:

Before learning about 0 and + I'd been using the right mouse button but it's unreliable. I have to hit it repeatedly and then 4 minutes later, it zooms in unexpectedly. Tried swapping out keyboards and mouse but it's not them. Also, seems to happen on some servers but not others. Thanks for your help and words of encouragement, everyone. I appreciate it. :thumbsup:

As a journo and someone interviewing people, I was expecting words. However, nice vid. That's good of you, thanks. However I hate steam with a passion. I hate that it has decided that everyone I add has a right to know what games I buy, what I'm playing and if I'm online. I hate it so much that I think I'm going to explode! :o So I will try to work out what my gmail account is. I hate that too! It stole control of my youtube account and told the world my full name despite promising that I could keep it private and use a nickname.
