    Another noob on DayZ..Me

Lots of beans to you, and welcome to dayz. Sounds like you've had a successful start to the game. Dayzwiki is very good for essential information, and I recommend using it for information on weapons, vehicles, well just everything.
  2. Well, in my experience, I have morphine to find and bellies to drag myself on, but yes, I got the essence of your point! :D
  3. Shame that they can't just play and have fun. If it had been me on that hill, I'd have watched them play their rolling dancy game and left them in peace, forever unaware of the potential danger they could have been with someone else watching them. Dance little dancey guys, with your gun dances and rolling about with a Q and E wiggle here and there. Dance in the moonlight or under the sun. You're safe under my gaze. I care too much for all of you to ever shoot you. :beans:
  4. Sounds a sensible approach. I do get annoyed when I hear that admins haven't restarted their servers for weeks because they're busy playing other games or have gone on vacation. For christ's sake take your responsibilities seriously. :emptycan:

    My Start to Dayz

That looked like a very normal start to dayz. Don't drop weapons and pick them up again. When you picked up the pwd you automatically dropped the revolver. When you picked up the revolver the game just dropped and disappeared the nice gun and ammo. Very rare too - you might not see that again for a very long time. Good luck!

Can someone give me a run down

Hi Shokaloop, welcome to dayz. It's a game like no other. You spawn on a beach, close to hills, small groups of houses and eventually you come across towns and cities. From the moment you spawn you will find zombies, most likely before you find food, water, guns or ammo. The aim is to stay alive by sneaking, by running, by looting, by killing zombies, and for some players, by killing other players. Check out the wiki site for dayz on google, it's full of essential information.

So does this make me an asshole?

I like your points, electroban.
  8. I don't know. I felt your argument lacked sufficient precision, purpose and reasoning. Or what there was, was flawed. But that's just my view.

    Players 30+ years old

ORIGINAL LIST OF PLAYERS OVER 30 YEARS (Plus also add anyone else who has expressed an interest in being on the list. I'll add then if I ever get the software to work again so I can edit it.) http://scribbless.co...sts/list/119425 Also, Daztroyer has a teamspeak server for talking during the game. Contact him for its ip address. Dwayne - yes. Remember if people don't work well together they just don't have to contact each other again. Age is no guarantee and we can't get on with everyone, especially the very young and immature. I've had my fill of them lately, I'm afraid. Also, I have to disagree about teamspeak. Personally, I find it can be great but can also be messy and noisy. Some people didn't like it when I spoke but I felt driven to speak because chaos was everywhere and not many people seemed have an objective or to be aware of the more experienced players' tactics and the risks around them. So, big groups can be challenge. Skype is great for small groups of say about four or five, in my experience.

Then I'm the one in ten who isn't. :P

Players in the last 24 hours

Hell of a lot of full servers though. Amazes me to still see servers with 59 out 60 places taken or 45 out 45 full.

    Dayz = PvP

Perhaps they expected what happened in New Zealand when the game was first tested? People didn't PvP, they got together in communities and helped each other to fight zombies. It was only when they let in the Russians and Europeans that PvPing started. So PvPing is not inevitable, and options for game play are wider than just those that you personally are able to imagine.

Yes, it does make you an asshole.

    What is it about DayZ

Except I didn't write it, you did! So Rogue's got himself confused. Possibly due to spending too much time thinking about wobbly bits. :o

    The lesser of two evils.

Personally, I've never shot another player and I'm not interested in doing so but I can see from the game that many do. I'd love to see private servers that kick out anyone who PvPs but then there should be PvP servers too. However, I can't see Rocket allowing that. On vehicles, if you find one and work on it then it should be yours until it's stolen or written off in my view, not just disappear after x days.

    The lesser of two evils.

Sounds awful, not dying every 4 minutes, and having a place to grab a can of beans and an m1911! (I'm lying). I've never had a tent. I'd love to have a little camp for beans and soda and stuff. I don't usually get the high end stuff, though sometimes I've had great finds at heli crashes. Loved my as50 while I had it. And silenced weapons are great too but I'd like somewhere to grab some beans and soda. Sometimes I've had to run from Kamenka to Berezino before finding a can. Other times they're everywhere. But I'd like to have a camp. Just to try everything out in dayz. :) Ventos, no one owes you a reply. They don't have to answer you when you're rude enough to criticise them. There's no rule. Try a more tactful approach if you'd like replies. Schrapple, I don't agree. I don't think the points in your original post do provide quick solutions. They might suit me, for example, but not many other types of players. And I think one thing that we can all see from this thread is that some of you should spell check your work before replying. Online dictionaries are free! :o

    What is it about DayZ

I watch someone else on youtube and I ache to get back in there. At times, I'm in a near-blissful state of happiness and peacefulness while running alone through the mountains and forests.

    My wife's take on DayZ

Yes, so easy that the zombies rarely kill me more than five or six times a week.

    The lesser of two evils.

Hydra, uh yeah, boring to have everything so easy.... so what's that like then? :o

    I'm on IRC

Wow, I thought that died in the 80s. I wonder if my old account still works!

    Thermals

I wouldn't be surprised if thermals were either ultra rare or removed from the end product. They tip the balance of the game quite significantly.

    My wife's take on DayZ

Aw thanks for editing that. Appreciate the update. But the same is true about your wife - wise lady.

    My wife's take on DayZ

Your wife's a wise lady. She clearly saw the game for what it really is. Probably the only one on the planet who gets to call you a bum too!. I've been told I was unique and special because I don't kill players, just zombies. That was a bit of a surprise, and sweet. And don't you go complaining about me not killing people, mister. I'm female, so I can have "feelings" and stuff if I want to. :P And what the heck are you doing typing threads anyway? Get back on that computer and record more highly addictive dayz slaughter-fests for me to watch please. That last Takistan was a hell of a ride. Some weird stuff happened. Now hurry up and film some more because I'm sitting here shivering and sweating waiting for my next fix. :) (Btw, it's Susan, from Youtube)

    What To Do?

Let them go their own way. You can only control your own choices, friend, not anyone else's. I admire your determination to be a hero.
  25. That's what I was thinking. You'll have much more luck finding bandits in the bandit forum, and possibly consider a name change too.
