I agree with HerrJon, banning someone, even temporarily, would defeat the purpose of the game - for people to play the game freely. However, I agree with Brisbase too. Find a whitelisting community and you won't want to play anywhere else ever again. We have bandits and we love them. They're an essential part of our community. I'm sure all whitelisting servers feel the same way. Everyone is responsible for what they do, so they don't do stupid things very often. They want to come back again the next day, so they remember that before they act. It's a good way to play DayZ. If bandits and survivors are in a fightout, they generally congratulate whoever wins and praise the fight in the forums. :thumbsup: I used to think I loathed bandits but it was PvP kids that drove me nuts with their killing anyone they could, their squealing, shouting in the mic, and generally just being noisy regular kids. Ugh! Not for me.

I'm sorry but it sounds like he has the wrong disk for his computer. Also, didn't he make a bootable disk when he first got the machine? He should find that, as that might help. You can't just use other people's disks, unfortunately, that won't help him.

I had to come back and look again. I've saved a copy to my disk. It's just so clever. Mind you, it's all like magic to me. Like light bulbs. How do they know how much light to put out? :huh: See? Magic!

Oh but he isn't a rookie. He's an "expert". One who likes to tell you all about what he's doing and why. Well, he used to. Apparently, now he's a bandit and he and his group gang up and kill other players. Such fun!

Either you think they're unfair or you don't. I think they're unfair because when you spawn in and find your local server has decided it's going to run nightime during the only time you can play - you better have NVGs or you are stuck in pitch black and unable to day anything except die. It puts of thousands of players and the evidence of that is how many play on the day servers - there are 24 hour daylight servers because of the night not being hard but stupid and pointless.

Oh boy, that'll be fun. Let's hope someone films Rhino and Sacriel playing together. Rhino will be slaughtering everyone from bandits to bambis in the thousands, and Sacriel will be lying dead on the floor saying, "Ah yes, can you see what I did wrong there? In military terms, tactically,I shouldn't have let the other player shoot me in the head..." :D Good luck and have fun, Rhino!

DayZ is not a game. It is an alpha test of a mod for the game Arma2 but people don't understand and think it's a game.

What does this mean? What is the error you see please?

Don't write notes or marks on the map unless you want everyone to see them. Consider them temporary, they don't last after server restarts.

It's available in theory, as it's what you see at Berezino and other places.

Hi Digital, I'm afraid I don't know how to do it but you have to change your field of view setting by editing a file. Someone here will know how to do it. Maybe try searching for it in the forums. :thumbsup:

Shepard, it's really hard to do without instructions. I used a number of different youtube vids and even they were pretty much awful. People forget they have accents, they speak to quickly, cut out the key things like which buttons to press - ugh! You need to buy combined ops (which is Arma 2 plus its Arrowhead add-on), then you need to download the alpha version of the mod "DayZ" from http://dayzmod.com/. You will also need to update to the latest version of Arma's patch, which you can get here: http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php I suggest you also download DayZ Commander, which is the best launcher for DayZ in my view. It makes things much simpler and easier than all the others I've tried. http://www.dayzcommander.com/ You will need to install the game, the add-on, the DayZ mod, then the Arma2 beta patch and then DayZ Commander. Come back and ask if you still have any problems. It took me 5 weeks to get the game to run. I'd almost lost my mind in despair but I never gave up. :thumbsup: :beans:

There are some issues of concern, including: - invisible weapons - dying when you leave/return to game because the software thinks that you were combat-logging, when it's just the way the software transports you to an "island" before you leave and join servers. - shooting a hand pistol once bringing endless zombies - passing out after one scratch though in perfect health - passing out after one scratch though in perfect health, and as the timer appears, being kicked from the game, which shuts down, and pc then shutting down - axes that go blunt in less than ten minutes - becoming madly thirsty and hungry too quickly - blurry graphics, even on high end machines, as the software has decided to take control of some aspects of the visual aspects, for some reason. Edit: but I like the changes in general.

Hi. Are you playing via dayz commander? I find that the easiest to use. If you look at each server you will see which version of software they are running and you need to find ones that run the same as you. Servers are run by hundreds of different people, and they are not all up to date with the latest version. You should look at the version and make sure it's the same as yours. Ask again if you need more information. :thumbsup:

Of course you would keep empty cans. How else would you boil water or drink or eat without plates and cups? :P I admit I was dreading this update. I hate all the food/blood changes and felt imposed upon knowing they were coming and that for ever more there will be more changes to the mod. Then I played it and I bloody loved it. Those are some mean zombies! :thumbsup:

That's what I've been doing this week. So instead of my usual lone-wolf treck around the map, I've been helping maintain vehicles, flown across the map with Derpy's crew in a full heli of guys to find people and parts, stood in the fire station at Cherno in the biggest zombie attack I have ever seen (at least 50 of them and then they kept on coming!), hunted bandits, shot out their wheels and fuel tank, shot hundreds of zombies, been on a low fly under Cherno's "bridge", plummeted to the ground and died in another heli-in a failed loop the loop attempt, died repeatedly and laughed a lot.
