What Alpha Is Supposed To Be (A Discussion On Dev Direction And If The Game Will Ever Be Completed)
Sula replied to jovlon's topic in General Discussion
Dear those of you who like to argue and bite at each other, I'm not going to bother to read those far too long and, in my view, pointless posts. I don't care what anyone writes just as long as it is within the rules. Make sure you are familiar with our rules or don't be surprised if your threads/posts are removed and you get warning points or a temporary ban, if you use insulting references to people's races, cultures, sex or sexual orientation. Dear those of you who enjoy healthy, friendly and polite discussion, Carry on and have a good evening! Sula -
Might be worth giving a brief outline of which mic you are using? Any information might help people to provide a solution. I'm afraid I can't help with the problem. Good luck.

Tired of running in Dayz, here is the solution
Sula replied to weedmasta's topic in General Discussion
If you're dumb enough to use drugs that's your business but don't post photos of them here. We do NOT condone the use of drugs. -
Already have this topic in another thread, so am closing this one. Thanks.

A Fix For Combatloggers and Server Hoppers (possibly?)
Sula replied to Flixe (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Yes, I have a comment: Thread closed. If you want to post suggestions, then put them in the Suggestions Forum please. This will cut back on the number of complaints we get about things not being in the right forum. Thanks. -
Hi Happy, welcome to the forum. I'll be honest, I haven't read your entire post as it's 2.15am here but I will read it in the morning! I just wanted to say hi before I dash off to bed.

Even though I'm English, I've always pronounced it 'Day-Zee' but with emphasis on the Zee so it doesn't sound like 'daisy'. That's just how it sounded in my head when I first read it, so it feels natural to me. But I am happy to say Day-Zed too if I'm talking to someone who doesn't know the game for example, and might think I was saying 'daisy' otherwise.

You would know it was me because I always use this name and because of the way I would play. I would never approach you, so if someone does under my name, then it isn't me. I really don't know of any planned developments, sorry.

Am I naive in wanting to learn the map myself?
Sula replied to General Desire's topic in New Player Discussion
Hi General Desire. Some of us have been playing the mod for nearly 2 years and Arma for up to a decade or so in some peoples' cases, from what I hear. So they are very familiar with the map, which is based on the Arma map, though not identical. I think I read somewhere that Rocket planned on expanding/changing the map later. -

This is a forum, guys. So discuss the subject but show some respect for other people's opinions and little civility too please. -
How many people do you kill in a life on average?
Sula replied to Mays (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
For me it's the same amount in DayZ as it is in real life - zero. I'm a survivalist, so I don't need to kill anyone. Been playing over 18 months, shot at plenty to scare them off but never wanted to kill another player. -

Yes, Arciere, you're right it's very risky approaching strangers. That's why most of the time I play lone wolf and that means you have to survive on your own skills and not on other people's help. It can be bloody hard. You're right, they're probably all on here instead the servers. I'm not playing much of the standalone right now, as I find the problems with being unable to type replies and the audio speech of other players far too loud and intrusive. I don't like players jabbering loudly about nothing, which stops me from hearing approaching zombies and other players. Once I've found a work around, feel free to say hi if you see me on a server. -
Hi Christmas Lunch, I'm sorry to say there are plenty of players out there just like that. However, there are many others who are far more sporting and honourable in the way they play. Be careful but don't let them get you down. If you ever see me on a server say hi, I don't kill other players and am happy to lend a hand to anyone who needs help.

Sula replied to Rzach's topic in General Discussion
Well, my view is there is no need to kill other players to enjoy DayZ. As you might know, I've been playing for about a year and a half and have never killed another player - shot at a some but always chose not to kill anyone. I play survivalist style, so for me it's all about staying alive. Of course, that can mean needing to kill in self defence but in all that time that just hasn't happened to me. I didn't read the whole of the initial thread - far too long - but what I will say is: there will always be players who shout about "kill or be killed is the only way" but that's just their opinion. Just because they're louder doesn't make them right. Everyone should enjoy the game the way they prefer. When the servers are new and busy there will always be lots of players who think the game is to kill as many as possible. As a survivalist it's much more of a challenge to survive under those circumstances. So at least you can consider yourself the "better" player if you do stay alive, just as they think themselves the better player for killing more players. -
Hmm, I'll be honest, Mazuro, I don't know but I'll ask around. Maybe someone here will be able to answer your question. Good luck, friend!

Hi, you each need to buy the software you intend using. You both need Arama2 combined ops (not sure what steam calls it now). You can't both use the same key. That would be theft, in my view.
