When you start the game, and are in the main menu, version is listed on the lower right corner of the screen. Anything newer than 93040 will have direct communication working. Latest build right now is 93701. -

Kiven: If you have received a global BattleEye ban, it is because you have been using hacks in the game. DayZ staff is not issuing these bans, and they cannot remove a global BattleEye ban. If you did not use hacks, contact BattleEye about it. As far as I know, false positive for this hack detection is not even possible, so if you got a global ban, you most likely deserved it. You should had thought twice before using the hacks.

Yeah, it's bugged. One day I spent couple hours trying to place tents. :) Open flat area, no trees within hundreds of meters, and it still complains.. At the moment I just keep tent in the backpack until the placement is fixed. I've heard some people have success by repeatedly clicking the tent placement while moving slightly between each one (you can move while your gear menu is open).

Yes, antibiotics should help when you are sick. -
It's a known problem (you can see threads about it with search). Just try moving around and placing it, eventually it will work. Hopefully this will be fixed in a future version.
