player view with p-key: control options?

Hi i have some question about loot information on this map: http://dayzdb.com/map What exactly is "loot chance"? I think is the chance for one of the "loot spawns" to spawn something at all, is this correct? If iam right then the following calculation should give the percentage a certain item will be found: exp: percentage of finding a tent in a supermarket: a supermarked has 24 "loot spawns" and a "loot chance" of 0.6 this means you get effectively: 24*0.6 = 14.4 loot spawns. A tent has a "drop chance" of 0.0094 (equals 0.94%), this means the possibility to get no tent in a single supermarket visit is 0.9906^14.4=0.873 (equals 87%), so the percentage to get at least one tent is 1-0.873=0.127 (12.7%). If iam correct the formula that gives the percentage to find a certain item (one or more of it) in one visit of a loot place is: P = 1-(1-p)^(LS*LC) p : item chance LS : "loot spawns" of the place LC : "loot chance" of the place

Ok, if the spawn chances on this certain map (at least it is hosted on the official dayzmod webserver, so i thought it is kind of official too) are made up then the results of the obove formuala are not correct of course. edit: i just noticed it is not even hosted on the official webserver, my bad.

I did combine loot chances, its in the formula, but if the loot chance per spot is realy just 0.28% then the combined chance is indeed only 4%. But this would mean that the map is wrong. But the maps says 0.28% only for residental loot places iam talking about super markets and they have the higher chances i used (0.94%)

Voice ingame chat is not working: others just hear noise when iam in voice mode
senior_hombre posted a topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
When trying to use the voice chat ingame, the other players can only hear some kind of noise, but not my voice. Anyone know how to fix this? some facts: - iam using windows 7 and my mike is the default input audio device - TS and skype work not only without problems but with excellent sound i tried the auto adjust option in the audio options of dayz (i tried it while saying something, and another time while being quiet) but this just changed the microphone slider but changed nothing. edit: problem solved, my mike was set up as default but thats not was the game wanted, i had to select explicitly the audio card (my realtek controller) as default device. -

yes' date=' at least it does for me. why wouldn't it? :P [/quote'] It could be that the mike gets blocked after you connect to a teamspeak server by TS. The reason i was asking is i tried a view times to use the ingame voice chat but during server restart phases, where all players waiting in the lobby to get logged in. I could hear others speaking but when i tried some no one reacted. I asked in the text chat if i was hearable and one said "yes but it was just random noise". And i had TS running the same time so i thought this could be related.

Repairing Wheels: how to find out which ones are repairable?
senior_hombre posted a topic in New Player Discussion
Hi, iam trying to repair the wheels on our car (4 wheeled) but already wasted two wheels because i repaired wrong (seems like i repaired wheels which are not on the car and the other time a wheel which had no damage). Maybe the answers on my following questions will help me repair it right: 1. on a 4 wheeled car, is it correct that just the front/back - right/left wheels are repairable? Or does it depend on the car (maybe the little blue bus have no front or back axis but a center axis instead)? 2. i read that red wheels (red wheel entries in the repair menu) are indicating wheels that are totally (over 90%) broken or not on the car, does this mean that yellow wheels are definitely on the car and repairable? I remember seeing yellow wheels on a little blue bus but it definitely where not the front or back wheels. 3. green wheels are definitely one the car and not broken, right? -
Repairing Wheels: how to find out which ones are repairable?
senior_hombre replied to senior_hombre's topic in New Player Discussion
ok thanks than i will focus on the back and front axis from now on. @chrispow: the wiki says that cars do not have all the wheels shown in the repair menu. This seems to be because there are cars in DayZ and Arma2 (like trucks and tanks [maybe]) that have more that 2 axes (some trucks have two back axes) and/or more than two wheels on some axes (some trucks have two wheels on each side of their back axes). In the current state the game can not or does not check how many wheels the car has when you open the repair menu, it simply shows all possible wheels (on ingame cars in general) and it is up to the player to decide/know which ones are actually "on the car". -
Does the ingame voice chat still works when you have teamspeak up and running the same time?

Howto change the Keybinding for the "p"-key?
senior_hombre posted a topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Hi, i am curious about the window which opens when i press the "p"-button on my keyboard. Its topic is like "curent task" and it shows a list of players, do you know which window iam talking about? My problem is i did not find a way to change the keybinding for this window. Iam left handed and to be able to play the game as comfortable as right-handed persons i had to change nearly all keybindings from the WASD to a OKL; configuration. This includes Q -> I and E -> P For me it looks like that the "p" keybinding is some kind of hardcoded, at least i was not able to find it in the controls options. Can anyone help me, is there a way to change this, maybe from the base game ARMA2 options? Or some kind of configuration file editing? -

Howto change the Keybinding for the "p"-key?
senior_hombre replied to senior_hombre's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
The Problem with this issue is, that the p key is not double mapped without creating a conflict in the control options (no key binding setting is highlighted in red, as it would when one key is mapped to more than one option), but when pressing p (when crawling) at first this "current task" window opens and then (when pressing p again to close it) i roll over to the right side (as if pressed the e key in the default right handed configuration).
