  1. hhmmm, yes the increase in zombie count does not help, ive heard other server owners say when the zombie count goes over 400 their servers just cant handle it well. I'll experiment with 2 hour restarts and see if that helps, I do notice that things run a lot better soon after the restarts :)
  2. Well, good luck to them! They'll have a Panda with an M249 and 6000 rnds of ammo to deal with :P By the way, us admins will all be wearing special clothing that is easily identifiable and is not in DayZ (the camo clothing with the bright red/pink beret). We will also NOT be using 50 calibres, so you'll have a good chance at getting close to the castle :) Some of you may have noticed the Zub Castle fortification process has already begun :P

    DayZ Standalone Discussion

    Will Standalone be optimised so it can run on more than 2 CPU threads? It's painful watching my current DayZ server struggle at full capacity when it maxes out 2 CPU threads, even though the server has 6 extra threads all sat on idle because Arma 2 by design cannot use more than 2 threads :( I think it was mentioned in another thread the possibility to have 150 slot servers, so if this is really an idea, I sure hope the engine is changed so it can use 4 threads or more!
  4. Server will be restarted to spawn the prize vehicles in, thus getting rid of any satchel charges in the process ♡♥♡
  5. Delete your relevant mod folder in your arma 2 OA folder. Then reinstall dayz mod via dayz commander
  6. Well we hit 75 players last night which is a massive number, we hadnt seen this even on the vilayer server in a long time. We are pushing the limit on what DayZ/Arma 2 engine can handle. On the previous server the hive was located half way across the world, in Dallas Texas, USA, now we have our own box it is hosted locally and gives us better performance. I just really hope for Standalone they are changing the game so significantly that it can use more than 2 cpu threads. Its ridiculous having 2 threads maxed out whilst 6 are sat on idle.
  7. I am already paying for us to have our own dedicated server box, so what more do you want me to do? As ive already said countless times now, welcome to Arma, welcome to DayZ, this is not Battlefield 3 where everything is well optimised and designed.
  8. What do you mean you cant get in to the server? Provide a bit more info...?????? Whether the server runs 80 people or 100 people it makes no difference, DayZ is DayZ, we have the best possible setup on our own high spec dedicated server, this is as good as it can possibly get until Standalone is released. Plus i don't think this new "update" 1.7.5.1 has done us any favours, increasing zombie counts in towns to 100, an extra signifigant workload for the server that by design can only work on 2 cores, *sigh* at the awful design.

  11. GUID too short and no they have to have CD Keys
  12. There is no problem, I have been playing for ages and there is no desync.
  13. Give me the code then :P We use the Bliss hive btw, not the silly Reality hive.

  16. Just logged into the box, it would appear windows updates is set to automatic, lol, i'll turn this off, hehe servers' are back up :)
