    Can't find food or bandages anywhere

    I just lasted an hour on my most recent character. Before I had even found a gun I had 3 cans of food and 2 sodas. Kill zombies. Depending on what kind they are, they will have food. I've noticed the zombies in coveralls are pretty much useless but regular town folk looking zombies can have food, drinks, and bandages on them. Just hit them with your hatchet once. Zombies don't aggro other zombies, that I can tell, so pull them one at a time and steal their lunch.

    As a new player, This mod is so amazingly fun. It's not mean to be easy and I like that. Spawning with a gun would almost certainly lead to noobs blowing each others heads off for a couple cans of beans. I think that would be worse than starting without. Some type of starter blunt weapon would be better in my opinion.

    Barns are pretty good places to check but I've found guns in outhouses so it's best to check everything you can. Also, move away from the coast as soon as you can. I usually just run inland as soon as I spawn. The coasts are usually high traffic so the further from the coast you get the more likely you'll find stuff. It's also always good to search the entire village, if you can, including the non-enterable houses. Even little wooden shacks and outhouses can have guns. If you get an axe, right click on it when it's in your inventory. It'll give you an option to "remove from belt" which puts it in your hands as a weapon. Better than nothing eh?

    Non-lethal weapons will be abused. Believe me.

    Nope. It's needed and I prefer it. Just because some people abuse it doesn't mean we should all be forced into first person.

    Trip wire flares would be a perfect tool for modern zombie apocalypse survivors. They'd be perfect if the wires were half as long as they barbwire.
