    Possibility to destroy,hide guns

I guess, like all things, if it's tweaked right with a very short range I don't see why it wouldn't work. The amount of time the player would be disabled would need to be short though. As long as they're rare, the knock out and range is short then I don't see why not. Actually, pepper spray might be a good alternative as long as it's effects can't be turned off like the near death post processing effect. Blinding a target would be just as effective and still give players a chance to outrun zombies.

    Possibility to destroy,hide guns

People would do it just for the lulz and to keep their murders at zero. (assuming that actually starts to matter again)
  3. I'm running everything on normal except shadow detail. After updating my drivers manually I haven't had any major problems unless I'm in a big city. I do have to close SixLauncher after getting into a game though. If I leave it on I get big drops in performance. I do have problems if I die after a long life. I have to restart if I want my game to run smooth as I can't figure out how to flush my memory. (shift + numpad - doesn't seem to do anything)

    Possibility to destroy,hide guns

Anything that knocks a player out will be abused as well. Imagine you're running from a few zombies when suddenly a guy runs up and knocks you out. You're then dinner for the zeds as he walks away without a murder and comes back for your gear. A disarm option would be best. You just grab their ammo, including ammo in the gun, or you disable their gun for a short time. (30 seconds? not really realistic though) It would be funny to have an option to ziptie their hands behind their back. That would still give them an option to run away from zombies and they could wiggle out after a while. No matter what, it's like highway robbery. Seems somewhat fitting.

I can only imagine how many thousands of posts just like yours added tremendous content to the forum.

New player - Game (Not) IMPOSSIBLE

Its not that hard. Some of the bugs make things a bit frustrating but that's life in DayZ. Starting over can be bit daunting and breaking your leg again and again sucks pretty bad but the weird stuff that happens and killing bandits make up for it all. Just the other day a zombie broke my leg. As I'm sitting there thinking about respawning a big truck rolls up. A guy hops out and instead of killing me or helping me he decides to loot my bag. I had nothing for him but while he's trying to steal my noob gear I loot HIS pack and get morphine and a grenade. I toss the grenade and blow their truck up while blowing out my ear drums. I laughed pretty hard as I healed my leg and rode off on a bike. Game owns. Love it.

    I just cant FIND IT!!!!

I now retract my statement about the old guard and their opinion of noobs. OP makes me sad.

    Stuck at Loading screen!!

Happened to me a few times today. It only appears to happen if I close Sixlauncher before I'm actually in the game. So far, if I leave it running I get in no problem. I then close it via the Task Manager.

    New Player stuck

If you have a buddy you can always use him to distract the zombies. Have him run through town to draw them away. He can lose them eventually by running up, down, or zigzagging up the hill or by running through a building. You can then collect all the goodies in peace and share with your buddy. Just be careful when putting weapons in your pack. You need the right amount of space or they'll vanish. Also, watch the roofs. Sometimes zombies spawn on roofs. More than likely they'll die when the fall off but that's not a promise. Search the immediately spawn area as well. You'll usually see a few industrial looking buildings before getting to a major town. Check them. Hatchets are very common. Also, don't hug walls. Shooters have taught us to do that but it's a bad idea in DayZ. Right now, zombies can detect you through them so try to keep a little distance between you and the walls.

Crawled all of the way from Elektro to Cherno

You did have a choice. You can move away a good distance and go back and check if the loot respawned.

    Anti-Persistent amirite

Silly question but, are you sure you car wasn't stolen and your tents raided? Also, Alpha.
  12. The hatchet is your friend. Use it for stealth kills. Do not run from one or two zombies. Running will only bring more zombies down on you. Instead, give them your hatchet. One hit will kill a zombie so take your time. Zombies may have food, drink, bandages, and ammo on them so search their bodies. Of course, morphine helps with this strategy and it's nearly useless against other players. But it will definitely get you setup with the essentials early in the game. A pistol, a hatchet, patience, and the ability to avoid large towns is all you need to survive the first day as you gather matches, hunting knife, canteen, compass, map, etc. Also, food *will* restore your blood if you eat when your hunger icon is green.
  13. Don't run from zombies. Hit them with the hatchet. I don't even bother with long guns anymore unless I know I'm heading to a popular spot. The hatchet is all I need.
  14. The elitism of the old guard is just as awful as the plague of noobs (myself included). I guess OP misses the irony of his post. "We're better because we were here first!"

    crappy computer or unoptimized arma2?

I turned down a lot of the settings to get decent fps. I also turned down mouse smoothing. If you have any weird lag to your mouse you may need to edit your config file too. There should be a guide somewhere. Just google 'AMRA2 mouse lag' or 'dayz mouse lag'. Just keep jacking with your settings until it feels right. Took me a couple lives to nail it down but my framerates are pretty good now.

    Bear Traps

Zombies moving quickly inside buildings might cut down on loot campers. Maybe. Right now, they can sit around all day shooting anyone that comes by and taking the zombies out at their leisure. Then again, the bear traps would sort of make it even easier to loot camp.

    First Experience with Ghosters

There needs to be some type of delay on bailout out on servers and another delay if they quit the next server after only being on it for a short time... but I'm sure people have mentioned this already.

    First Car of DayZ :D

Well my friend never found a vehicle until just now and there were six together in one big circle. 1 up XTREME!
  21. I don't play to strictly pvp. I'm not even a fan of pvp in large mmo-ish games at all but removing it from dayZ would be like removing guns in any other shooter game. Then again, if you guys are afraid of a little pvp then I don't see why you can't have super easy mode. As long as you can't take your easy geared character into a regular server, why not? Enjoy your stay in easy mode and watch out for those pesky zombies! They can be REAL hard to deal with after you've collected all the best gear and weapons. Be super duper careful! (Pretty soon people will want to pick what gear they start with and have weapons unlock at certain levels....)

Struggling to find food or weapons

For me, it's easier to find food, drink, and bandages on zombies than it is to find elsewhere. So kill them with your hatchet and make sure to check them for loot. The first coastal town you find should give you a a few cans of food and some couple cola if you aggro each zombie one at a time. Beware of the larger coastal towns though. (You need to go to your Gear and right click on your hatchet and "remove from toolbelt" to use it as a weapon.) Once you're set make the move inland and look for barns. Winchesters will likely be found in them but avoid the shotguns if you can. I find the hatchet is better as it doesn't aggro the entire area. (note: zombies are forced to move slowly indoors, so making your stand in the barn is better than out in the open) Look for deer stands. You're more likely to find a real rifle like the AK there. They're usually found near the borders of forests and clearings. Grocery stores are good places to find larger backpacks and maps. They're easy to spot but popular locations so be on your guard. If you find matches, have a hatchet, and a hunting knife you're completely set to hunt animals in the wild. This is good if you're soloing as you can gain more health from cooked meat than canned meat. (eat when you're hunger is full to gain more blood) Once you've got a good gun, head towards the larger airfields. Good luck.

    Zed Survival tips.

More tips. Do not fear the reaper and the HATCHET is your friend. Use it often early in the game. Zombies civilians may have food, drinks, bandages, or even ammo on them. It only takes one hit to drop a zombie so time it right and you will have a nice stash going in no time. Don't run if only one zombie is coming at you. Hatchet that fool. One, two, or even three zombies can be dropped pretty easy with the hatchet and a little patience on the swing. You start with a bandage so don't sweat it.
