    Player stuck in freelook view...

You need 10 slots to put a weapon in your pack. Anything less and the gun will vanish. Bug, known.

    Rocket's overall plan.

So that's what the ARMA alpha was like?
  3. sixbarns

    Rocket's overall plan.

Same here. I've also yet to find these super impossible zombies everyone is crying about. If these guys were asking questions and searching the forums rather than starting yet another childish complaint thread then maybe they wouldn't be having so many problems. [added a space]

I Can't even Play this game!!!

Then what's the problem? If you get sniped again and again you should change how you play or change servers. It's going to happen but it's less likely to happen away from these massive noob traps.

    Average Zombie Kills

You can find ammo, food, drinks, and bandages on zombies. So they do give you something if you think it's worth it. The only zombies I've seen that don't give you anything are the dockworker zombies in the coveralls. I've never seen a single drop from them so I don't bother unless I really have to. I kill zombies now just for the experience with the weapons and targeting in game. Learning how to properly lead a target at range takes practice. I guess I could do that in ARMA2 but wheres the fun in that?
  6. Shhh.. I'm trying to lure some people into my tarp.

Worst day in History to Start?

Maybe because it was flawed? Self defense kills turned you into a bandit. The system will need a lot more than 1 murder equals bandit.
  8. Well, there is the troubleshooting forum where you might find better help. I had no issues finding plenty of threads related to your problem. Here is the search link (i hope) so you can browse through them. There appears to be several ways to combat this problem. Hope one works for you. http://dayzmod.com/f...h&fromMainBar=1 This thread was recommended by a few http://dayzmod.com/f...s-since-update/
  9. Look, we spend hours finding gear or praying to find a can of beans so we don't die right? If a zombie was walking by with a bag full of everything you need, wouldn't you kill it? Of course you would. People are not your friends... take their beans. They will kill you if given half the chance so why hesitate? Crush your enemies, see them fall before you, and read their lamentations on the forums.

    General Q's and Info

Surviving up North, the basics: 1. Matches 2. Hatchet 3. Hunting knife Looting NW Airfield, easy mode: 1. Friend A 2. Friend B 3. Friend C Finding yourself on the map: 1. Print out a map and learn how to read contour lines. 2. Know what time it is on the server and locate the sun. 3. Look for landmarks like long slender fields, large outcrops of rock, a tiny shed in the middle of no where, a steep and tall mountain with another peak in the distance, and anything else that seems unique. Use all of above to find yourself on the map. (A compass makes all of this easier.) Tomato, meh.
  13. Once a player learns what to avoid doing and learns to recover from mistakes, like pulling too many zombies when trying to loot a town, the game becomes much too easy. Players become the only real threat and in turn become the only goal of the game. Exploring the map is awesome if you never played ARMA2 but some people crave more excitement than that. Vehicles and camps are great things to search for but the odds of finding them are slim so a lot of people don't bother. I hope Rocket increases the difficulty the further inland you get. I'd rather the game was as hard on experienced players inland as it is on noobies on the coast. Once you have a Winchester and 3-5 ammo the zombies become nothing but a nuisance to your ears. Maybe they'll address this lack of goal and northern area difficulty further down the development cycle. (btw, before anyone complains, there are goals in the game and gearing up is one of them but many people turn around and head south to kill noobs because they have nothing else to do and choose to go on a murderous rampage rather than stand around in a field looking at a cow)
  14. Did you search the forums first? There was a stickied thread on this subject at one point. You might find the best info there. Does this happen on every server? Are you closing sixlauncher before you get into the game? How long do you wait for the loading screen to end? Are you using sixlauncher to verify the server before connecting? Do you close down arma2/dayz completely before trying again?

    Zombie Aggro

Just pay attention to where the zombies are looking and then factor in your stance. I strongly recommend you spawn on the coast and find whatever small town you're near. Then probe the zombies. Just try various stances and speeds and see how close you can get to a zombie. Then practice losing them around objects and trees. Breaking line of sight and suddenly changing directions works great. Once you've worked out how to sneak around a few of them, practice sneaking around all of them. See if you can get from one side of the town to the other without pulling zombies. You're going to die a lot doing this but it's good practice and you'll learn the zombie behavior and what causes aggro in no time. Remember, they can SEE in the direction they're walking and HEAR your steps on hard surfaces. Running is loud. Crouch running is not as loud but still highly visible. Walking is quiet but highly visible. Crouch walking is very quiet and not very visible. At prone you're practically invisible unless the zombie is standing on top of you. Any movement on a road is visible, even crawling. So be careful and look both ways. Very similar to real life but not 100%. A good tip to consider, when approaching a town, go prone when you're still a long way off but see the zombies have spawned. Wait.. Just hang around for a minute and let the spread out. This will make life easier. Use third person view as much as you can.

    What did I do wrong?

A lot of things man. You're going to find yourself in that situation again and again. First off, you have dumb friends. I do too so I know how it feels. Your buddy shouldn't have started firing until all three of you were patched up and relocated. Then, you were on a night time server without any way to see. There are plenty of tips and tricks and some call them cheating so use them at your own discretion. You chose to transfuse your dumb buddy rather than leave him behind. A sniper was in the area and you exposed yourself. What FunkyHermitCrab said.

    Fairwell, had enough of this

Seems like Rocket should include a single player version so these guys can play I am Legend.
  18. Line of Sight was added to the zombie behavior. It's not a pathing issue. You can lose zombies by running around walls, buildings, and trees now. It's intentional. It's easy. Sneaking is easier than ever. You could be doing it wrong. The new zombie behavior requires a new approach. You can't do what you were doing before the patch and expect the same results. The zombies need to become tougher.
  19. The game is on a good track as long as Rocket doesn't give in to all the whiners and CoD players that want this game to be super easy.

    Help with Dayz mod plz!!

Yes. Update your drivers though and do a manual installation of your graphics card driver. Windows doesn't always do a good enough job. Make sure you adjust all your graphics settings when you get into the game.

    Camera lag?

    http://forums.steamp...d.php?t=1366499 mouse smoothing in game options > controls > right side slider to the left then in arma2oa.cfg change this line GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1000; or any other value if you altered it already to value GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1;
  22. sixbarns

    Fairwell, had enough of this

If I saw someone driving around a pot of gold, I'd shoot them. If I was driving around in my pot of gold and I saw someone walking around dragging a bag of gold nuggets, I'd shoot them. OP, your mistake was not getting yourself a new vehicle. Stop trusting people. This is actually a life lesson I think some of you should learn. Even your real life friends can't be trusted with the keys to a Ferrari or a briefcase full of money. You may think so... but...
  23. This counter only tells you at what distance a zombie MAY see you IF they're looking in your direction. With their decreased hearing and added vision and the ability to lose them around corners zombies are easier than ever.
  24. They've always been like that. He was quiet the whole time and didn't once get in front of the zombie. What'st he problem? That you can't touch them before they break into a run? Why would anyone get that close to a zombie if they weren't testing it? If you watched more than a minute of that video you'd see how easy it is to lose zombies an what not to do if you don't want to aggro them from a huge distance.
