Some do it just for the reactions of people. They know people get upset. Anyone pulling off these nukes and masskills are doing it for the reactions, not for the advantage.

The sooner they get around to banning these people the better. From the sounds of it... it's not going to happen tomorrow.

I bought my pc for 400 bucks 2 years ago and slapped a 1 gig graphics card in it. I'm almost certain anything you buy, as long as you put a decent graphics card in it, will run the game.

It's not really collision. It's the line of sight. Zombies were given eyeballs a few patches back and reduced superman hearing. So now all you really need to do is break their line of sight while trying not to make too much noise.

The zig zagging just make them harder to shoot which makes them more threatening. This is a cheap solution but better than having them run straight at you making it easier to shoot them. Run backwards, when they stop to swing, aim and fire. Still too easy if you ask me.

Weave between a series of bushes or bushy trees. This cuts the zombies line of sight and they stop chasing you. You can also run through buildings and lose them. Zombies are easy to deal with.

Anyone can rent a server to run DayZ on but the server is going to suck if they have no idea what they're doing and just expect the provider to set it all up. Not everyone with money is going to be a smart admin.

I hope OP isn't the guy that was banned for trying to scam the community last night. (Guy linked to his own paypal saying it was some poor kids, same as username = community laughed hard)

There are plenty of vets in the big cities. That's where a lot of people go to do this. Unfortunately the noobs think it's a great place to get gear. When the vets die, they run back to the big cities and appear to be unequipped noobs until they get their gear back or pickup an Enfield. Pretty hard to tell the difference which is why I tell true noobs to stay away from Cherno and Elektro. Only death awaits them there.

If people would quit using only the first person view then they wouldn't be surprised by so many players. Less surprises less killings. Less accidents, less deaths. Accidentally running into someone is a good way to die. Using third person can give you time to choose to run away or engage but only if you actually use it. Just today I'm in a barn and some guy comes running in and up the opposite stairs to avoid a zombie. Now I'm forced to make a choice. I can say "hi guy that is only 15 feet away from me with an AK, let's be pals" and very likely get killed or I can kill him before he sees me. Had he used the third person view he would have known I was in there and not died. Had he been using third person while IN the barn he would have seen me and not died. Had he run through the barn while looking around or had he run around the barn and used his third person view to scope out the top levels he would have lived. Had he not swung his gun in my direction the second he saw me he would have lived. 100% of all my player kills outside of the obvious war zone cities are because another player FORCED me to choose between him or me. Now his buddy wants to kill me because I killed his dumb friend. Now I get two murders because someone wanted to wear blinders. I didn't want their gear. I didn't want kills. Every player I let walk away I saw first from a safe distance. Every player that let me walk away saw me first and warned me to keep my distance. Take off the blinders people. Play smart, communicate, and don't run around like a moron and you'll live. Use third person to it's absolute fullest.

I bet that guy OP let go went on to kill a good number of poorly armed people. OP could have saved countless lives but chose not to.

Heard about a massive hack attack tonight but I've never seen it.

We'll very likely have to pay for the standalone game. I'm starting to think this game will end up being a subscription based game. Just my guess.

If you allow a game to destroy your friendships you were never really friends to begin with. Besides, trust no one. Shoot them in the head and take their beans. They are an unwanted element in the game anyway.

I don't run into this. I found a couple good servers and I play on them exclusively. Hell, I only even log into one when my primary choice is down.

Maybe it's always been that way but you got into when the server was still fresh.

Since the ability to play DayZ offline was removed I imagine most of the hackers are testing their craft on these private servers.

Don't it wont be the last time you will kill someone. You can also eat to restore health.

The game is about survival. It's either you or him. At the very least he becomes competition for food, weapons, and other loot. At worst, he'll kill you. So it's pretty cut and dry unless you're in an area you don't plan on staying and you know how to exit the area while keeping an eye behind you. Besides, the guy saw a flashlight and went into the building without announcing himself. Sounds like you were going to get killed anyway.

The novelty of that will wear off. You'll then make it obvious to smart people that you're not friendly while saying your friendly. That's when you have some fun moments.
