Changing the server to 100 players is a huge mistake. The game is not only going to lag terribly for everyone, the server will be a gigantic hacker magnet if it ever reaches even close to its full capacity. People using the nuke hack look for largely populated servers. Really disappointed if this change is permanent, this server was by far one of the best when capacity was only 50.

Awesome! So just to reiterate, it will be going up tonight? Been waiting an hour :D Love your server.

Any reason the server is offline?

20 words or less: Super-Low Humanity Detection
Zhivago replied to rocket's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
No. Why? -
And as we all know alpha is the time in the development cycle where you need to avoid any and all suggestions. Instead you must look on with complete passivity until release' date=' where you are then required to immediately start complaining about the bad things that has carried over from alpha because noone called them out. [/quote'] Could you please stop being conscendencing? It makes you sound like a A-hole with superiority complex. :D Because the guy who is yelling 'holy christ people alpha alpha alpha' like we're all oblivious to the fact totally isn't being condescending at all. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. I really wish people would drop this fanboy crap, it's getting really annoying.

I just want to repost this since the other thread is bugged or something (Today 12:31 AM)rocket Wrote: The zombies in this aren't zombies. They are infected people. Personally I prefer 28 days/months later as I find this more terrifying and believable, hence why it is like this in game. As I said in an interview, I have a lifecycle developed for the infected people that will result in some of them being slower than others (malnutritioned) but that would be the exception rather than rule. I agree wholeheartedly with them being fast, but wouldn't it make sense to nerf the speed just a little bit? I'm not talking about shambler speed, I'm just talking 'not usain bolt 24/7' speed. Their speed really is quite ridiculous when you consider their acceleration, the way they zigzag, and their bugginess in general. Instead of being scared, I'm just frustrated when I have to deal with zombies. I never know when one is going to pop out of a wall and one-shot KO me. My 2 cents. And to any rocket fanboys, please save your breath, I know what you're going to say. 'You're just a carebear'. Well, if you weren't parroting that term, maybe you'd know what it actually means and where it came from. You aren't a carebear if you don't like broken game mechanics, and zombies are definitely a broken mechanic right now in the current state of the alpha, and should be fixed accordingly.

Slower zombies will be more fun, less predictable and interact better with survivors.

What do you want to see in 1.5.9 ?
Zhivago replied to Marcuss95's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Less zeds until they can fix their pathing and make them less buggy in general. New weapons. New loot. Multiple character support. -
Rocket you must put an end to passworded servers!
Zhivago replied to guitarxe's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You have to be a pretty lame douchebag to farm gear on a completely safe server and then use it in a public one. Just sayin. -
I haven't seen a response on this.

I've heard if anything like this occurs you should disconnect/connect immediately. Dunno for sure though. -
Oh god, I totally forgot about the time i did that. THAT DAMN BUTTON SHOULD NOT EXIST

Spawning underneath a house. When I tried to crawl out, my legs broke and I bled out instantly. Probably the dumbest one. That or firing an enfield in a town, but everyone has done that once.
-
This is a necessary change, but I don't think it'll happen for a long while, since it isn't something that can be fixed in a short amount of time. One short term solution to the erratic movement would be a slight speed nerf (I don't mean make them into shamblers, just...not olympic sprinters).
-
Little disappointed there won't be a *small* nerf to zombie numbers since they're still usain bolt juggernauts at the moment, but I will gladly take the respawn change.

Awesome change! Now release 1.5.8 so I can play again :P -
If you nerf the winchester you nerf every loner in the game, as if that needed to happen again with the zombie spawns being broken like they are right now. It's not overpowered, it's a solid option that will get the job done at close to mediumish ranges. It's fairly quiet too. That being said it is very easily outclassed by the higher tier military spawns. Keep it the way it is.
-
The just need a very slight speed nerf and a reduction in zig-zagging and they'll be fine. I'm all for including shamblers in the game just for variety, but keep runners in as well.
-
I believe rocket has already said he does not want to use shamblers for DayZ. I agree, for the most part. The game would be far, far too easy with shamblers. I do think zeds need a little bit of a speed nerf and the AI pathing needs to be fixed so they don't zig-zag so much, though.
-
A small speed nerf and a reduction of the zig-zagging would be ideal IMO. I like that they run though, shambling zombies would be no challenge at all. It's just that with the way spawns are right now, zombies have become a little too challenging to deal with. I'm sure rocket will tweak things accordingly.

Scrap the skin change mechanic but give us the option to use skins like the bandit skin somehow.

Skin swap from Bandit to Survivor takes your main wep away.

It also takes items from your main inventory away, I lost food, supplies, and ammunition. -
Bandit Skin change issue (all lost)
Zhivago replied to Riddick (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Just to let everyone know, this is still an issue, and resulted in my death. I was just running through some forest outside Lopatino on Chicago 2, and my humanity meter went over 2k, switching my skin back to survivor and deleting my current gun (winchester 1866, arguably the best gun in the game) along with all its ammo and a bunch of stuff in my pack as well, food, water, fence kit, flares. Low on makarov ammo, I ventured into Lopatino trying to find badly needed supplies. I ran out of ammo very quickly, and was killed because I didn't have my well stocked, quiet weapon anymore. I would be less unhappy about this if this bug was related to a mechanic I thought should be in the game, however the skin switch mechanic is in my opinion incredibly unnecessary and stupid. It doesn't make sense from a realism standpoint and it takes away from the tension of player interaction. Bandit skins confirm that a player has killed other players, you know he/she is not safe to be around. Not to mention you can get the skin through self defense, which is equally stupid and yet another reason this feature should not be included in future versions. I humbly request you remove it from the game. I have heard that characters can be restored if they are lost to bugs, is this true? I had a very good run going and it would be a shame to lose my character to such a silly thing.
