Why is the backpack deletion glitch fixed on the unofficial lingor mod but still present in the official dayz alpha? This has bugged me since I started playing lingor and noticed it was fixed on that mod. -

lol yellow smoke grenades... they were obviously hacking... Srsly tho, every group i play with has multiple tent sites containing TWS, MG36, PDW SD, red flares, etc and I nor any of my friends hack... We just store the items we find in tents. -

Great thread Sil. I agree with you wholeheartedly about the idiocy of expecting people to have real moral crisis' when killing in a video game. The current alpha leaves much to be desired and I hope that in the standalone they will add content which will require players to work together (I'd like to see power plants and more base building). The addition of bandit skins seems to indicate that the developers agree with you. I agree that their implementation is flawed and does little to prevent killing. I also feel that out of game chat clients add to the problem as all groups I have played with will KoS anyone not on teamspeak. I would like to see external voice chat clients restricted (somehow) in the standalone and direct chat combined with radios (ACRE?) added. This would add to the immersiveness of the experience and prevent the "everyone do the friendly dance! boom, headshot!" that I see a lot of. -
The AS50 TWS needs to be DB wiped or not able to be saved to hive.

Seriously, the OP made an excellent point that no one has responded to: Why are there no M107 TWS' floating around? The item is being saved in the official public dayz database. Why save it at all? Saving the TWS to the public hive is the equivalent of the developers endorsing it's usage. -
It does indeed save and it is certainly not bannable. As someone alluded to earlier I believe they are tracking it's usage (and other exploits) in game.

Agree that in game VOIP and possibly groups/friends additions are a must if you expect people to begin to trust and team with ANY players who are not on you external TS. As is now the in game VOIP is seemingly only used to bait kills with "friendly" and to scare people before backstabbing with the hatchet. -
I Agree with you on many great points you made. Ironically the success of the game is one of the biggest obstacles now, the developers won't be massively changing anything so as not to piss off the current player base. Seasonal challenges such cold/hungry times would fit nicely into the current game.

I don't know if anyone else shares in this view but, in my opinion, target identification is one of the biggest problems in DayZ. By this I mean when you encounter another survivor it is often difficult to quickly differentiate between friend and foe. The problem is exacerbated by servers which don't display names on mouseover. So my idea is this: Create a group of survivors who all shares the same (somewhat) unique appearance. Kill everyone who doesn't share that appearance. I am thinking all black character skins and basically we kill everyone who isn't black. We could swap out black for old man or some other easily identifiable skin. This would not work when it comes to members in ghillie suits as you can not easily make out the characters skin under the bush camo so we would need to keep tabs on any members who are wearing ghillie. Let me know what you think of my idea. (This idea and post are motivated by my complete frustration when encountering other players and having no way to ID them as friend or foe. This problem is exacerbated by friends who may be on different teamspeak channels or not in TS.) -
Hi Everyone, I started playing yesterday and I really love it so far. Today I went on some low pop servers and raided the airfield and army tents. I noticed on the high population servers most people you run into are only interested in PK'ing you. I am looking for a group that wants to focus on killing bandits, weapon stockpiling and vehicle repair.
