  1. What is he doing? Talking big like the people on the forums, lol. Whatever solution is implemented is going to have major drawbacks and/or not be effective. Having characters that stay in game and can register a death after somebody kills the process or loses network connectivity might not even be possible without a complicated patch to arma2 itself.

how do you play this game

I tried server hopping myself but all of the weapons were gone. Looting could definitely be smarter, but I imagine due to engine limitations you can't spawn items only for one player. It would be nice if weapons spawned for each player roughly based on needs. That way there would always be something there for you on your screen, and you wouldn't see crappy loot spawning when you desperately need ammo. Making it completely random leads to playthroughs that are too hard or too easy based on your dice rolls.

    Can I Run North Forever?

What?! Shit... that explains that stupid looking seam that I saw like 30 minutes ago where this mossy field was stitched up with the hills. Sounds like it's time to bite the ol' cyanide capsule.
  4. I stocked up on beans and drink and headed into the woods to see what I could find. I made it to a huge expanse of rolling grassy foothills that don't seem to end. Is there some kind of barrier that I will hit or is this just going to wrap around or something?

    Sounds and soundtrack of DayZ?

In the early stages of the game I find Michael Jackson's Thriller most fitting. Later on when I have my automatic weapons and car I cultivate my inner gangster with some rap music!

    What keeps this community going.

I don't get asking people if they are friendly. If they aren't they would shoot you on sight or lie. Maybe the information you are really looking for is whether they want to be internet bros with you.
  7. Starting with no weapon is completely retarded, but it's not really a big deal if the first building you walk into has a hatchet or a crossbow that you can crawl to. The problem is that it's possible to go into a long stretch of buildings that either have no loot or too many zombies. It's possible that you can play until you die of starvation having found only swarms of zombies, empty cans, and glow sticks. It's also possible that you spawn right next to an area where you can crawl for every weapon you need, matches, canteen, beans, etc. Then you could live in the woods indefinitely. Dice rolls, man.
  8. What's up. Created an account to add to the bitching about the RNG in this game. The random loot and damage received makes the experience unpredictable and frankly crap 90% of the time. While zombie AI probably has little randomness involved, getting detected by a crouching, unseen zombie while you are crawling makes it feel like there is nothing you can do to get to that one barn and stock up on empty cans and glowsticks. Monopoly and yahtzee aren't hardcore.
