  1. Also, I have to chip in with the "OMFG ROCKET WTH ZOMBIES ARE SO OP I RAGEQUIT AAAAARGH" Bandwagon. I appreciate how you're trying to make zombies more hazardous to players, but I have to say I feel that you did it in the worst way possible. Now new players REALLY can't survive, but ir's not as bad of a hindrance to guys who actually DO have automatic weapons. It should be the other way around, shouldn't it? I have to say, I much prefer many of the solutions proposed in the Suggestions forum beforehand to what you've done. Even making them more bulletproof, as much as I would hate that.
  2. Just in case no one else has, I just checked the pack-eats-guns glitch...not fixed.

    Eliminate M107 and AS50

To shoot people, obviously. As to shoot vehicles.

    Eliminate M107 and AS50

We don't not need them, we just need to make the others more prevalent. For one, even though they themselves are restricted in terms of spawn rate, I've found M107 rounds in a FACTORY. As opposed to an SVD magazine, which is the designated marksman rifle of the Chernarussian military, but I've never physically seen one with my own eyes.

    Eliminate M107 and AS50

Perhaps. I still feel it's an appropriate comparison, in that a number of less well experience and less equipped players are proposing that the "elites" should simply be disarmed by some magical third entity (here, the devs, Occupy...the government? I don't Even know who they intend to be their actor) instead of putting forth the effort to equal them on their own terms.

In that case, may I submit that this is a video game forum, and not a Lincoln-Douglas debate round, and that your listing of fallacies is not an appropriate medium of argumentation either? I made an analogy that describes what this situation is perfectly, in my opinion anyway. And what was that you said about attempting to change someone's opinion?

    Eliminate M107 and AS50

Nothing makes people rage more than thigns like this. Someone does something unfair, someone gets their feelings hurt, someone comes here and tries to use the devs as a weapon by trying to make them drag the player who originally shot him down to his level, even though that player put in dozens more hours of work into his gear load than the player who complained... You know what this is? This is Day Z's version of Occupy Wall Street. "If we can't be given the same cool shit you worked so hard to get, um...you shouldn't get it!"

Go get one yourself instead of whining. It's not like you can't, dude.
  9. But it would be fairly simple to write a script to detect what locations are currently the hottest spots. I have friends who have done it, who honestly aren't anywhere near the coders they pretend to be.
  10. I was going to suggest that, but I just felt it would be a bit of a small point. But yes, they should have a higher drop rate of sniper ammo, in my opinion anyway. Unless you guys think that would be a bad idea, putting the sniper ammo right by the snipers. I don't know one way or the other.
  11. The current ARMA 2 engine does not provide for constructing objects below ground level. It is a confirmed and advertised fact that ArmA 3 will. AND since Bohemia said they might and/or will pick up Day Z officially in ArmA 3, WE SO EXCITED!

Zombie sounds - Aggro - Passive

They existed in previous versions, I've seen videos with a distinctive "HEY!" growl in them. I think Rocket might have taken it out to service it, probably because it was fairly clear the zombies were screeching "HEY!"

READ: Lets get these Lighthouses up and running

Pre-1700s lighthouses, such as the Lighthouse of Alexandria, were basically elevated bonfires. An there's NO reason to get hostile. Literally zero reason whatsoever.

    Im not a complainer but....

Neither of those things happen to me. Zombies don't detect me at one hundred meters with the exception of sprinting, I've only broken my leg "for no reason" when I glitched inside a sandbag wall, and I'm sorry, but either you're exaggerating, you have the worst luck ever, or uou're hitting glitches. Keep playing the game. You'll get the hang of it. I normally don't curse on this, but this game is a bitch to learn. I'm not saying I've learned it all, and I've played it for three weeks.
  15. I know. It's kinda sad that this happens regularly.
  16. Honestly, I don't think vehicle mounted weapons are as OP as people think. Compare it to a sniper rifle. With a machine gun mounted in te back of a pickup, A) Your whole body is exposed because you're standing upright; a sniper's is not. B) Your approach, by the sound of the vehicle and of the gun, is trumpeted to those all around you; a sniper is silent until it's too late. C) Especially while in motion, your machine gun is chattering away at a general area at best, giving to low hit probability, since the target has time to take cover, and high ammo expenditure. Snipers are usually one shot, one kill. D) You NEED at least two people to drive and shoot. Snipers can do bad all by themselves. E) You need to keep up with gas, repairs, and bullets; snipers only need one round to stay in business. F) You're a highly visible target to everyone, since your car is automatically a luxury item in this cut throat economy. A sniper turns invisible very quickly. G) You need to keep it hidden, and a soon as you can no longer stick it outside of Chernarus, you'll have a hard job. Just a few reasons I can think of just off the bat.

    How about that camouflage?

There's a reporting bugs page, you would have better luck there friend.
  18. Right. It would still run, and it would still be dangerous due to the whole "being big as hell" thing, but it wouldn't be a literal meat grinder.
  19. I think we might want to make the blades wear down, and need eithe replacement combine gears or scrap metal.
  20. +1. A campsite in the woods, with two tents, a burnt out campfire, and a dead body holding an empty revolver surrounded by six dead zombies would be soooo cool to just stumble upon. It would both provide a nice, randomized loot location for new players, as well as a cool story and a break from trees and grass.

    Military base

I think eventually Rocket will need to modify the vehicle spawns to match the weapons, because obviously no one wants him to do vice-versa. If he makes RPGS a little more common, then I would have no problem with incorporating military grade vehicles. It seems like a Humvee with an M2, while it sounds absurdly unbalancing, is actually less so than an M-107. Think about it. If bandits want to careen around the roads, mowing down everything in front of, to the sides of, behind, above, and sometimes below them, they're going to make an awful lot of noise. Enough so that new players (smart people know to avoid walking down the middle of the highway anywh, by the way) wil be able to dive into cover before they get in range. Unlike a sniper rifle, of course.
  22. Yeee-hawww! Call up Uncle Niko-Bob, we gotta brang in this here zombah harvest! I think this is a great idea. We might need to make them difficult to maneuver, and more or less confined to the field they spawn in, as in "the streets are filled with broken down cars and you want to drive a what now!?", but in open fields, they hold absolutely massacre zombies, and anything else in its way as well. Gameplay repercussion: You've got a plan. You and two of your buddies are going up that deer stand to grab the loot, but first you have to clear the zombies. You don't want to waste your ammo, but Uncle Niko-Bob over thar points out one uh them there cawm-bines. He hops in it, and you and your buddy run up to the zombies, aggro them all, an lead them right in front of Uncle Niko-Bob and his spinny-bladed death muh-sheen thang. Then Uncle Niko-Bob mows them suckers rah-ght over like they wuz some kinda corn field 'er sum-thin'. Then the three of you run over to the deer stand, safe 'n sound.

Right, I definitely agree. But then does that mean we get their Humvees?
