Meh, ive experienced much worse hacking in other FULL RELEASE games, this is in alpha form. Myself ive only once been killed by hackers. Hackers suck but you will always get them in all games to some degree. I remember it only took a week or something for hacking programs to go up for Red Orchestra2. Thankfully Rocket seems to be banning hackers all the time, ive been in betas/alphas before and hacking was not dealt with as quick as Rocket and the BI team are working at things. I think with time things will only improve as they learn more about the hackers and as more hackers get banned. Its in alpha stage remember!

Enfield >>> shotgun for me. I have killed a few bandits with the Lee Enfield. It is loud but for shooting other players its awesome

I see that 95054 is out, anyone try it yet? In 'Jacques' post he lists a way to install 94997,etc... is it ok to download 95054 and still follow his instructions with this newer version?

Good luck getting an engine or game world as awesome as what is in arma2 for this kind of game... I would rather have it in a sim engine like ARMA then something like COD. Shooting also feels very godo in arma to me, I don't want to play Crysis2 or COD tyep combat/controls for a dayz style game. ARMA2 might have some issues but with how huge the game world is and how realistic the gun combat is the only improvement I coudl ask for is in ARMA3 engine, similair style but just better.

Great write up bud! Reminds me of killing my first person(s) at stary at night one night, as I took the first one out I felt so bad. But then I saw a truck comign to pick up the 2nd person from the tents and bam I got him to, as his friends in the truck drive off as two of theere friends had got shot. I had messed up there whole plan but man I felt kind of bad haha. Even if one was a bandit and one a survivor, I still felt a bit bad. I really only did it because a bunch people had taken out friends near the Stary tents a few hours previous, so I wanted some revenge. Its crazy how a game can get you so on edge! A gun shot and a light has never scared me so much in a game!

You are only a few days in >>> thread Give it more time man, as me and my friedn said the other day "we all died TONS of times the first few weeks" I did not start LOVIGN this game until 3-4 weeks after I started playing. You will learn more things as you play and also youll learn to be more careful of snipers. You have to look out for bandits JUST as much as looking out for zombies (sometimes even more!). I have been killed many times by bandits, building doors, a friend runnign into me, two foot fall,etc.. It is in alpha stage and its still more fun then 99% of games that are out atm. There are some issues and im sure there will be for a long time, just gotta keep playign and learn to take the few bad things with all the good things. I play by myself about 50% of the time, the other 50% of the time I play with 2-8 friends, try mixign it up and good luck! For me part of the big draw from this game is always beign worried in the back of my mind about some bandits following me,etc...

That sucks man! But to be honest it is kind of your fault for not having any morphene on you. ALWAYS carry atleast 2-3 morphene with you! Its one of the first things I go for (after a gun) when I start off.

Funny you say this... me and my friends said "We have not heard many peopel couhgin lately!" Then we foudn some antibiotics and literally the next day two of us both go sick and coughing at different times! It is there if you are in teh rain for to long of a time! Being sick sucks! Trust me!

1. Buy the game and then its free to play (as you said, like guild wars and arma2,etc..) 2. Stay away from Free to Play model, as it always ends up being about grind and having to buy other crap I honestly like it as it is now, but if dayz started on its own engine and released as its own game or something, then I would def just want a ONE TIME BUY and free to play. I hate Free to play games with a passion (Tribes is about the only decent one but even then there is some annoying aspects). Keep DAYZ free to play after buying!!! PLEASE!

I just upgraded to the new arma2 beta today and i had issues to, same as you. I went back to 94876 1.7.2.3 and it works fine.

This happened when the last patch happened for me... All I did was join CANADA 2 and then it worked, I spawned in a different spot and just had to run for 2-3 mins and ended up coming out of the forest not to far from Cherno I think it was.

This happened to me a few weeks ago actually... I saw this guy near Cherno at a farm.. I asked him "Are you friendly?" Asked again "Are you friendly? please answer me" Then I saw him pull out his gun and try to hide behind the back of the farm. I asked once more "Friendly? I can see you hiding" I tossed a flare near him and then he started to shoot 360 around him. Next thing after his shooting, 20-30 zombies coming after him from cherno (he had a very loud sniper gun i think). He started to run away and actually ran right next to me. The zombies got to him and killed him. It was so fun to watch him kill himself when I was trying to be nice

You are not alone! I have pressed respawn many times when I have great gear. Its actually alot of fun to start over again to me now. Hell, last night I let some zombies kill me in the middle of this main road up north with most of the best things in the game. I do hope someone got a nice pressent though and found those (:

HELL NO! It is not very hard to find a weapon, leave it as is.

Its just the way it is man, some will help you and some will not. Best to shoot on sight if htey dont answer you and even then there is a chance they will shoot you. Team up with others and meet up and you might have a chance against those bandit types. Also sometimes starting over in this game is for the better! A few times I have literally died on purpose just to start over. Sometimes it gets old with having one of the better guns in the game. One of hte thigns that keeps bringin me back to this game is that starting over really is a ton of fun once I had a plan for everytime I died. Where to go first, what to get,etc.. If you want someone to play with private msg me and I dont mind helping you out for a bit!

I play it in steam without six updater. I have arma2 store bought version and Arrowhead steam version togeter as Combined Ops and latest dayz downloaded from there website and works. Steam community/chat works fine to.

Nice work! I would suggest to new players to be patient and try to get some food,drink and a weapon/ammo down south (around Bolata or Cherno) and then head up northish where its not as crowded.

Id be happy with 10 seconds wait when quitting if you are in a firefight with pvp

Ive been playing since the first day the game was out and I have only witnessed one hacker. Been killed more by bridges and doors then by hackers (: There are def some issues but all the wonderful experiences ive had more then make up for the issues ive experienced.

So last night me and my buddy had been near Stary and we went to the tents. We finished looking in all of them and we where about to log off, when I saw two sniper guns and some other stuff just sitting outside/in the middle of all the tents. 5 seconds later I got shot from afar. Looked like bone was broken and I had the timer hour glass thing going on as I was laying on the ground (blood was going down to). Next the sniper walked over me and looked for my friend (who had ran away, it was pitch black here to), but he did not notice I was NOT dead yet. So i waited and waited and as soon as the hour glass went away I healed and left the server. Do people sometimes just forget to give human players an extra shot to make sure they are dead or what? Why did he not give me another shot and take my stuff? (We actually had alot). Or was the sniper just being nice to me and not fully killing me? Anyways, we escaped that somehow.
