What does it mean to hide vehicles and tents "off the map"? People keep talking about this.

    [How To] Removing Wire Fencing

Heh, I like the fact that you do actually get better at removing wires, it's just that some of them seem to be impossible to remove :S

How the player-built base worked out.

I want to take part into something like this soon too

    DayZ popularity

Is this game getting more or less popular? Looking at the forums there used to be thousands of members online at any given time, now it's barely hitting the 1k mark on a good day. When playing the game I see the amount of people online dropping at times too. Hopefully we get the new patch soon so people get interested again. Too many small glitches and the growth of bandits among survivors is probably the culprit here as I see it :-/ What are your thoughts?

There should be a radio item. That way informing people about bandits that just killed you would be impossible, yet you could arrange meetings with other survivors.

    WHY SO MANY F*CK**G CU*TS?

Good idea with the naming, if I saw someone named "friendly survivor" i would definitely think twice if he was a bandit trying to trick me :)

Someone posted about something similar earlier this week. People coming back in a matter of minutes with full gear :/

    DayZ analysis

I like the karma feature OP talked about. Spawning with better items when having good karma isn't realistic but it drives the players to play in a realistic way i.e. not just killing each other as this would not happen in real DayZ apocalypse.

An Actual in game Day Z

The tournament should start at night so you can safely gear up before the dawn when players can see each other more easily.

Hehe an actual disco effect. I don't think it would be a deal-breaker for players though :)

Maybe have a 10 minute zombie time for everyone at start so they can get on their own ways. This would help avoid the beach-massacre. Then after the zombie time is over a patch of the game map would turn into a danger zone every 5 minutes.

It's funny how this game is only in Alpha stage and is just a mod to another game, yet it's easily the most intriguing game I've ever played. I just love immersive open world games with a lot of tactics involved instead of CoD type of shooters.

Also a good idea that doesn't deserve starting a thread: When you kill another player, you can loot him etc, but after 5 minutes he turns into a zombie. This way the server would eventually fill up with zombies. If you killed turned zombies they spawn somewhere else instead of not spawning again.

Disco? Could you elaborate? Disconnecting upon fight. A geared-to-the-teeth bandit is stuck in a small building and you and two of your friends are firing upon him. He disconnects. = Disco horseshit :(

The solution is easy: The danger zones - mentioned earlier in this thread - would grow in numbers. First just one city or a patch of forest would be dangerous with tens or hundreds of zombies but eventually there would be no safe place. Last survivor would win the tournament and get a lot of points in the tournament leaderboards or something :) The game could be designed so after 5 hours of playing there was practically no safe place for leaving your character for over 5 minutes standing. I also agree with the disconnecting leaves your character standing still online.

If zombies were dead for good upon killing then the amount of them should be exaggerated versus free for all games. EDIT: I don't think a thousand zombies would be enough, let's say 2k suits me well :) At least an amount that doesn't let you just focus on killing and hunting fellow playas.

    Legs breaking at 12000

I think the single hit bone breaking experience should exist only by falling from a high height. Your trouble was mostly lag here. If you fought a real zombie in real life it would certainly not be able to break your bones with one hit. They are surprisingly strong in movies, books etc though :)

:D :DOkay you guys wrote pretty good reasons, I'm quite new to the game so I don't really know a lot about the past months. As it stands there are always good and full servers to play at and I hope it continues that way.

You have solved the bandit vs survivor dilemma :) This way everyone would just try to survive instead of going on rampages killing people. This way everyone would be a super cautious bandit though. No teaming up but no outrageous murdering either. I would head north quick to the northwest corner and hunt game with some silentish weapon. I hope there comes a possibility for admin to set their maps tournament or free for all types :) Great idea altogether!

    Bleed to easily?

I don't mind bleending too much from zombie hits. In real life if zombie hits you = gets to biting distance, you're going to change soon. In real life that is :)
