Hello. WALL OF TEXT ALERT I have a funny story, that I have only just realised the significance of today. The incident happened about 2 months ago, and I subbed to HybridPanda less than a week ago, so I had no idea what had happened. I only remembered the incident and put 2 and 2 together earlier today, after being reminded there is kindness in Day Z by a lovely American gentleman who helped us today. -How I realised- The American gentleman (Sorry did not catch his name) was very kind. It started with me and my friend (SadisticPomegranate) prone on the grass near Kamenka trying to fix his microphone, when a car comes and drives right over us at high speed. I am somehow unharmed where as my friend is bleeding very badly, with broken legs. The American appears from nowhere, and gives him morphine. After we say our thanks, he tracks us down 10 minutes later to tell us he has found a house nearby with 2 good guns with lots of ammo. He also gave a blood bag to my friend who was on 1.4k blood. He ALSO leads us to the guns. EDIT: He also gunned down a heap of zeds for us This is going somewhere So I had never heard of such kindness in Day Z. I should know, I have been back stabbed enough times. I try to think back to times when people had been that kind. The only other time I could think of was over 3 months ago. I was on 500 blood, my only friend was dead, and a group of people came to my aid and went on a quest for blood bags in cherno. They ALL died trying to help me, that was very kind. -The incident- The only other allies I had ever made that did not end in me being back stabbed was about 2 months ago. Me and somebody called 'admin' stumbled across each other (Strangely in the same place as the group mentioned above). He can't have been older than 13 but he was a dab hand with firearms, so I grouped up with him. After looting most of chernogorsk, we are in some sort of street just off of a square when zombies spot us. (I don't think hiding was a thing then) so we battle them with crossbows and shotguns. After that, we sneak out the back of the restaurant and head west towards these shed-like buildings. When we are near them, a zombie spots us and the whole thing starts again. This is when admin shouts 'Dude, behind you!' in the text chat. I figured it to be some sort of zombie sneaking up so I move away, still trying to shoot the one in front. Then he yells 'Duck!', so I hit the floor (why did he not just strafe around me?) and he shoots right over my head. I presumed it to be a zombie still, and we retreat back to the restaurant the front way to finish them off. admin says 'I don't know if he died.' I see a zombie enter the restaurant and say 'No, here he comes now.' He tells me it isn't him, and it was a man he saw. I don't think anything of it. At this point its 10-11 PM and he says he has to go to bed (He can't have been older than 13), so he logs off. I remember he said there was a man, so I go back to check if he died. He did. Upon inspecting the body, it says 'His name was Hybridpanda, he died of '. I sort of go 'oh' and loot his corpse. 'YYYYYEEEESSSSS MY VERY FIRST TOOLBOX!' Is what was on my mind at the time, but I still remembered the name. Less than a week ago I subbed to Panda, after watching him compete on the Yogscast crown conquest game. I have been watching a lot of his videos since, and they are really great, so I was thinking about his videos a lot, hence remembering the name in the incident. I have not seen his Day Z ones yet, so I don't know if he was recording or not (I will update this to confirm he wasn't/was recording). -The chances of this happening- Have you seen how many UK servers there are? Of which are good? And have you seen how many people are on them? So that's barely anyone, in a place where you are likely to meet other players (Aka Cherno). It was bound to happen, I just wasn't expecting it, nor did I even know it had happened until just now :P Obviously it could have been an imposter, but Panda definitely plays Day Z, and he would surely go on a UK server. Its likely it was actually him. -My message to Panda should the unlikely circumstances arise that he hears of this- I am still unsure of your stance, were you friendly or not? My friend did have time to type 'Look behind you' and 'Duck' without you moving, so I guess you tried to communicate. I blame him! EDIT: I should add to the message, that thanks to the loot on his body giving me a kick start, I managed to stay alive for ages! I eventually died a few weeks ago when SadisticPomegranate grew too trusting in some survivors, and then convinced me to be just as trusting...

UH-1H is the only type of helicopter, so if you see any other types, its a hacker. I saw an Apache on UK25 the other day and the hacker got banned.

Vehicles get stolen for a past time, they are probably on their 5th owner when they are destroyed, and there is no effective way to hide vehicles in Day Z when you are offline. How about a very rare item found in military spawns, that you can attach to vehicles. If you own a GPS, you can follow the movement of that vehicle. Now this sounds game breaking, but here is how it would be balanced and in fact balance issues already in the game. In the game, people steal vehicles with no effort at all. I know I just walk up to a vehicle and take it. Somebody put hours of work into repairing it. Well now you need the effort too. Vehicles have parts on them, like fuel tanks and engines, you can choose where on the vehicle you place the device. Be it a wheel, the hull, or the rotor blades. You can get rid of the tracking device by replacing the part of the vehicle with the device on. Should the thief be able to see if there is a device or not? Answer below. If they could see, then it may be more balanced. If they can't see it would add to the paranoia, with people replacing parts on their vehicle when they are not in fact being tracked. Answer below what you think, or if you think this is a bad idea all together. Current balance issues in the game include bandit teams hogging vehicles. I am fine with that having stolen vehicles myself, but only if they don't just leave them hidden miles off the map like they do. This device means people can see where their stolen vehicles are, and ordinary survivors can take them back from the bandits. Another issue I have discovered with the device itself is that fitting the device before it got stolen would surely make it visible on a GPS beforehand and more likely to get stolen? This balances out the issues with people using it all the time for their collection of helicopters. And also using it means anyone can see its location, so it may be stolen from the thief and stolen from them and that means there will be more conflict, so people will avoid using them sometimes. Sorry this is so long, but I wanted to make my point about them not upsetting the balance of the game. :)

I think side chat should be replaced with a less game breaking more realistic alternative. I think radio's should be added in. They could be tuned into different channels so not everyone would hear what you say unless they tuned in to your channel. They would be uncommon but not exactly rare, making them slightly accessible and not a tool for making bandit raids easier. Radio's could have something to do with broadcasting towers, perhaps there is a medium/large range on the radios unless you are near a broadcasting tower, and you can send/receive messages over a much larger distance. This would be good for organising groups, and you could radio for help if you got hurt. I think this would make people form groups of NICE people instead of bandit gangs, who will respond to distress calls, the likes of which are far to rare in Day Z (I can't say anything though, I am a bandit, although a lonely bandit so a radio would be nice) If somebody is spamming the mic like they used to on side chat, you can tune out, or turn off the radio. Problem solved!

No no no no no! I am a bandit with little remorse, and my character would not suffer these symptoms because he is OK with what he does! -

I feel terrible! I had just logged in with my week old character, and I was at the bridge just outside berezino. Thinking there may be some loot as the server had reset since I last logged in, I headed back into the town. I was in a restaurant by the main square when I heard footsteps outside. I ran upstairs, checked the rooms, and got into position with my M1014 at the top of the stairs. I waited for 10 minuets, the only thing I heard was a zombie outside. I started to creep down the stairs, but heard more movement as I did and retreated again. Reassuring myself I would be fine if there was somebody (Twice I had been below 6k health and fully recovered without any blood bags), I went downstairs. A quick survey found nobody was in the building, and it was all in my head... ... Or was it? I crossed the road, and went east towards the sea. I headed along the coast and was about to enter a supermarket when a zed spotted me, the blighter. I shot him with my M1014, but realised I let the whole world know where I was. Some zeds came inside the supermarket after me, but I was hidden right at the back. Nothing saw me, and they left me be. At this point I was sure I was not alone, after the sounds I heard and the fact I had probably attracted people like I had the zeds. Darting across the road when the zeds had their backs turned, I crept behind the back wall of the camp by the hospital. Thats when I heard scurrying on the other side of the wall. Hurrying into a back garden where I would see anybody coming, I waited for 2 minuets. No sign of anyone or anything. I slowly crept around through the gardens, glanced at where I heard the sounds, and looked inside the hospital. Inside, I heard a noise, so I believed there was somebody behind one of the walls. I darted outside and thought of how I could escape silently. I slowly crept around the back of the hospital and thats where I saw him. He had a pistol, possibly a makarov, and was looking at the ladder for some reason. I still thought he was a threat, I was not sure if HE was alone either. Hiding behind the rubble pile about 8m away from him, I slowly stood up, lined up a shot, and shot him 3 times in the back of the head with my M1014. He crawled behind a bin, and I did not see him again. Just then, out of the bush besides him, a person in a ghillie suit jumps out with a very quiet machine gun. I get shot repeatedly. Also a zed is on the scene attacking me. Killing the zombie and then killing the ghillie suit man, I scurry inside the hospital. I am at 2k blood, and my vision is blurred. I bandage myself and fight the other zombies. After the last zed was dead, I faint. I was literately shaking IRL, I did not know the fate of the first man I shot, and if he was alive he would show NO mercy. I was carrying a lot of loot I had never even laid eyes on before, and this was only my second character that lived longer than a couple of days (He had lived a week). I awaken, shaking (In game) and almost blind. I take some painkillers, and the 3 cooked meat in my bag. Only up to 4.5 k blood, not in good shape at all. Dreading what I might find, I sneak around the back. The first thing I check is that the ghillie suit man is still there, as he may have fallen unconscious and survived. He was there. The second thing I check is the other man, the one I shot first. I saw him dead. I felt so happy that I was not about to be killed by him but so sad he was dead. Looting their corpses, I found enough cooked meat to restore me to 12k blood, and have leftovers. I found his Bizon SD, and the pistol the non ghillie suit guy had was an M1911, not a makarov. I feel very good, I have got reasonable gear now, a quiet gun will come in handy, I am no longer in a food crisis and this makes up for everything I lost when my tractor got stolen. But I feel remorse. I had always wanted to be a bandit (My first attempt was 20m from the same spot, behind the supermarket. I shot at somebody with an AKM but forgot to set it to full auto, and it wasn't a case of han shot first...) but I expected it to be glorious. I have 2 murders and I feel their pain... Buuuuuuuut I got good loot! Sorry 'Thomas' and friend who I did not see from UK34! And the first 2 at the same time is? EDIT: These were not my first 2 kills! Just remembered a couple of weeks ago somebody named 'Josh' on a UK server asked me to stick with him just after spawning. I did. After we had a stand off with somebody, ending in no spilt blood, I was told 'He is going to betray you'. 'I trust him' I replied. Later he said 'Its too dark to follow you into the forest, you go on'. As I walked away, he shot at me. Hiding in the dark behind a tree he ran past and I shot him, and after a game of hide and seek, I hear VERY close footsteps. Keeping still, I hear a hiss, and he throws a flare AWAY from me. I know exactly where he is and bang I get a bandit kill, but only 5k blood remain and I die half an hour later...

Hello This has probably been suggested a lot, but what about camouflage netting to hide tents and vehicles? They would be much harder to spot and people would not have to put their tents outside of the map (I don't but some do). The downside of them is they are very rare, a military only spawn, and require a long taking the netting off animation when you want to drive anywhere in a vehicle. Thanks for listening to my idea Cheers

Hello survivors Today on UK 25 at around midnight (GMT), I was looking for loot in a town called Sosnovka (In the west). I could hear a strange beating sound, so went south to investigate. In the distance I could see an Apache gunship. I very much doubt they snuck Apache's into an update, so it must have been hacked in. It was possibly firing at this other town (Zelenogorsk), but it turned around after a while (I noticed the main cannon was moving, like the gunner position was active, meaning 2 hackers). I could not are did not dare get close enough for names. If anybody also saw this, can they say below, and if they got their names that would be brilliant. Cheers EDIT: Just heard the beating sound again east of Zelenogorsk (Where I believed they attacked first) at 00:46, may be another helicopter (Unlikely) But I think they are still nearby.
