    Pending Build Progess: 1.5.9

As long as one person got a laugh' date=' then I think I did my job. We all lose sight of the fun of riding this train from time to time (ugh, another inevitable sex reference) and it's Friday. Let's all lighten up. After all... :D

You there. With that unfair advantage. You are CHEATING!

Reported for cheating. ;) (TO ALL: I did not report Officious for cheating. There's a winky. Don't get your collective panties in a bunch.)

ITT: Rocket says my spam is delicious. Also, uses the word 'vagina' and makes me giggle like a little girl. :D

I'll just stop you right here' date=' as it may not be clear to you that previous posters have already determined that I have doctored Rocket's post to include some of the most prevalent changes requested in the game. They're all fake, dude. Every one of them. I was going to give you this link as my 'proof', but figured that I would just come clean on the whole thing. I do love the sheer volume of people who got caught by it. And Rocket, once you pick yourself up off the floor, grab yourself a Pepsi on me. I haven't had this much fun in a long time. :D
  5. Criticism: You didn't site my name as the source when you mentioned the blood on the side of the barn, naming and shaming the killer. Hurm.

    Walker Variation.

I love the Imposter idea, and have noted that a LOT of the new zed models seem to be very much in this vein. I've seen a bunch of crawlers that I've mistaken for players, and more than a few are dressed in army fatigues or even police uniforms. I'm especially fond of being attacked by the Jamie Hyneman zombie. You know the one I mean. :D I have linked my own ideas in my sig under "Zombie AI". I'd love it if you would comment on them, as I think a lot of your ideas are in-line with my own.

Bandits don't get punished, Survivors do...

Don't take that the wrong way. When I get killed in-game' date=' it is most certainly [i']my own fault. I'm certainly not immune. Why would you blame others for getting killed in-game? You shouldn't. I take every death in-game as a learning experience. Sure, I get angry when I get killed over and over, but I look at what I did that let it happen. Was I in the light, and my attacker was in the dark? Did I forget to search the treeline for a sniper looking for an easy kill? Every time you are in the open, you are open to being attacked. If you can find a way to minimize it, you will not die as much. In some of my previous posts, I've talked about how it's taken me 15-20 minutes to even get into a town, because of my precautions. I've also taken a lot of precautions, thought I'd covered every angle, and still gotten shot right away. It happens to everybody. I don't know what that is, but if you think that a frank and honest discussion is beneath you, then that's your prerogative. I'm only trying to help.

    The Moral Effect Theory v2.0

This is the problem. It deals with both fair gameplay (bandits) and unfair (spawn campers) with the same blow. I haven't seen a 'perfect' idea to combat them as yet, but maybe it's coming. If certain areas are considered 'spawn points' (i.e. the coast) then I would say a random spawn of zeds would be nice, especially if they could be triggered by someone camping a certain area. If you're sitting in the same spot for 5-10 minutes in the hopes of picking off a newly spawned player, you could spawn 5-10 zeds who would inevitable shamble towards your position... ...preferably from behind.

ZOMBIE AI - The Definitive Suggestion

I've seen it happen where they start crawling. I've also seen crawlers jump up and start chasing you again. I don't know what the current programming is, but if it was somehow standardized, you could at least have some strategy on how to fight them. As it is today - and this isn't a "whaaaaa zeds are too hard" - you never know what to expect from your zeds, except that they will chase you until you are out of bullets, and then chase you and chase you and chase you and chase you. They may never actually catch you, and I think this needs to be fixed. (Somewhere, there's a great video of someone who had aggro'd about 20 zeds, and then ran into the nearest town and up to the nearest survivor, to get them off him. I think the other guy shit when he saw them all, and took aggro by starting to shoot into the horde. All to the tune of "Yakety Sax", which makes anything hilarious.)

    The Moral Effect Theory v2.0

You may be surprised to hear' date=' but I wholeheartedly support this idea. I had actually come up with an idea similar, having [i']"[Playername] is a murderer!" scrawled across a nearby barn in blood. It's a great way to keep the immersion, in my opinion, while lending some tension to the game as well. If this isn't a punishment, what would be an equivalent situation for the survivor? Would they have a delayed respawn because they got killed doing something stupid? For example, if you shoot a survivor who is running down the middle of the street, they get delayed for 15 minutes? Their own 'mitigating factor' is that they are an idiot. I'm taking a little bit of comedic liberty with you here, because it is, in fact, a punishment. You are punishing the character for killing another player, and there isn't a comparable punishment for a survivor.

Rocket, dude! Can we have old mouse wheel menu back?

I've used "[" and "]" since I started, since my mouse never registered the menu properly. I think it's still working for the most part when searching bodies, but I have noticed that the "Eat Food" and "Drink Water" menus have disappeared. I'd personally like that to be returned. It can't be a hit on resources, but I can't figure why it would be removed entirely.

I agree. That's up there in my recommendations. (Seriously, I'm so tired of seeing the crawlers just decide, "Hey, I'm motherfucking Ben Johnson!" and chase your ass down.)

    The Moral Effect Theory v2.0

You can take your whole Clockwork Orange symbolism and go, unless you are going to enable the similar mechanic on people who do not shoot other people, and make their sights shake or their gun drop, with an audible "I can't do it!" because they refuse to take a human life. You aren't talking about balance. You are talking punishment for an in-game allowable occurrence. Until you have similar effects for those who don't shoot other people, then you cannot arbitrarily enforce rules on a group based upon their play-style. EDIT: Oh, and to the OP. What you have proposed is a hypothesis, not a theory.
