You took down 7? There weren't even 7 of us there. I think overall you took down 3 of FTC, 1 of the Customers who were unaffiliated. We took down 2 of you at least, and one we were engaged with but let go because of the Trading Op we needed to make on time. Also, keep in mind we spotted you sneaking up to the barn before you even knew we were there, and we had snipers with headshots lined up. However, we did not take the shots because we had someone within direct com range confirm that you were "friendly". Next time, maybe not so much. EDIT: Also, none of us logged in battle, when the server crashed (which pissed me off, I just looted a rangefinder off of Plummer) I tried to flush out what I thought to be the last guy, but the higher ups said we had a situation at Devils and I was already late. I disengaged under fire, and ran on foot to DC. I don't pass up the chance for a good firefight, but orders are orders. I never battle log.

Same thing happened on the same day on the Freeside server, around 11:30-12:00 pm EST. I believe it to be someone with the tag "Rocket" (obviously not the real one). We have some people checking the logs etc, hopefully they will update it. Just an FYI, the safest thing to do in that situation is restart the server but leave it down for a few minutes, it will roll it back a few minutes as far as I know, so no one will lose their entire load out.

Removal of any items that allow you to see at nighttime would be awesome, and would bring an amazing gaming experience that comes with playing at nighttime without "fixing" your gamma to see. True excitement is playing at night, with nothing but chemlights, flares, and flashlights. At the very least, night vision goggles and the L85 should start to require you to refuel it with batteries etc.

"Read the logs, they didn't get in, etc etc" The logs shown only represent a portion of what happened. Some of the people who had errors were able to connect still, and logs nor in game witness will be able to give an accurate representation of what was going on when they entered. Maybe they updated and were logged in, maybe they found a way around whatever mischief they were using, regardless: when you see someone get an error message like that, and then get confirmation from other people that they are indeed in the game even though something like that would have kicked them, you get suspicious. I know some of you get your jollies by proving other people wrong (whether in reality, or in your own mind), but please. Leave your insecurities in the real world where they belong. Outside party haters need to calm their collective tits, you weren't even there. It's done with, been rectified, and we look forward to any sort of raiding you have planned if it is done on equal footing, so the victor will know skill alone won the battle. Not game genie.

The Ural was taken by known exploiters a few days back, they are constantly being found near hacked items and ammo. They are getting sloppy it seems, thank you for the info.

Khiven, if you only knew the thirst we all have for a legit firefight with another group. To call me no better than a hacker is laughable. If this same scenario had played out sans those modified file messages, no bans would have been issued. It is known that this is the method for people to have a cheap, homebrew version of wallhack. If you must know, your group cleared devils castle, and reinforcements were on route, so while our forward group was wiped I believe you still had people standing. 3v3, and we took 3 casualties, you took 1 or 2 I believe. Now that we have that settled, it goes against your accusation that we banned to "save our asses", as there were no more asses to be saved. DC was taken by hostile forces, we were en route to take it back, in what we assumed would be a very fun firefight. However, sketchiness of the situation on further review caused our admins to take action. I will personally give you whatever gear you lost, it's not about that. We are a trading company, more guns and ammo pass through our hands than most real life arms dealers. I will personally let you kill me if that will make you feel bigger and better, it's not about that either. I've died more times than I can count, and every legitimate death I take like a man. I was bested, that's the end of story. I wasn't even there, but from an outsider looking in, it seemed sketchy to have our friends saying that they were experiencing fishy behavior, and to see a whole lot of people on your side logging in with modified texture files. Regardless, you really aren't making a good image for yourself. Continuing to whine will fix nothing, the whole issue has been rectified.

If anything, I see whiners on the outside looking in. Our server gets harassed by invisible people, mortar shells, tank users, everything you could think of. And yet, we remain, because we provide a persistent and unique in game experience for fellow lovers of sandbox games. What we do, we do for the safety of the trading post customers, and the safety of our crew. If we hastily ban in the heat of things when things look fishy, we apologize. However, you have to understand the stage of the game and the fact that people are actively trying to ruin not only your gaming experience, but ours as well. Calm yourselves, bans are being lifted, and remaining where they are deserved. Crying like a woman won't help except try to give us a bad name, when we are trying to protect the COMMUNITY from these people. I'd appreciate less trolling in this, and more valid conversations.

Server: Freeside Trading Co 2 Time: 7:53 AM EST Incident: A buddy and I were at NW airfield when we came under fire. He was knocked unconscious in the firehouse garage, I closed the door and pulled him to safety bandaging him and blooding him. A grenade launcher started going off, cleary audible but invisible. My friend died, respawned, and the hacker teleported him back to his body. We kept hearing footsteps following us around, but never saw anything. We then found a vehicle that does not allow anyone to enter, with a grenade launcher holo weapon in the gear and tons of HE rounds. We knew it was hacked as the server has reached its limit on UAZ spawns, so we blew it up. It then respawned itself a few minutes later, with it's gear intact, and visibly in perfect condition.

Constantly avoiding fights and pilfering things for no other reason than to pilfer them is stupid, and a waste of time. Not true banditry, just being annoying. Your "camp" with your "stolen" vehicles was less than 2km from the original set up. Not sure what you are hoping to accomplish. EDIT: also, found a pile of Mk SD ammo very close to your camp in the trees...interesting as that does not spawn in game. I really wouldn't put it past you to be using a script to find the vehicles in the first place.

He also respawned himself when he died instantly, to the same location with same gear. His name in stream is tobiidk, and his ingame name is either the same, or a variant of tobiidk.

Was there and can confirm, name and hacking. My team sniper scored two headshots, I scored at least 2 headshots and multiple SAW hits to center mass, and my team LMG scored hits. Person then disappeared but was still connected and showed to be in the server. 5 seconds later (estimation) the Ural that was coming to pick us up started exploding without taking fire. Also can confirm said player has no testicles.

Short and to the point, I'd like to see something realistic added to represent the breakdown of your psyche should you go on a killing spree. Maybe after a few kills, you begin to have auditory hallucinations. Was that a shot fired and hitting the ground near me? Or a twig breaking? Did I hear someone cough? Deeper into the red, visual hallucinations. You see a player creeping towards you in the distance. You shoot a few rounds into it, just to have it disappear in a hazy cloud. Now you have just alerted everyone around you, shooting at a ghost of your tormented past. Food and water doesn't seem to help as much as it used to, you find yourself hungry no matter how many tasty hidden morsels you find. You could even take this further, and maybe have other effects for people with higher humanity. People that do good deeds are often talked about by word of mouth, perhaps easier to spot in peripherals? I haven't thought about that at all, just the murdering part. Beans for thought.

People claiming what they would do if this were a real world scenario...laughable. Shooting everyone you come across makes sure that your genes will not be passed on. Even if you found a female, you would then have to make sure she survives as well, can track as well as you can (if you even can), has the same mentality, which is hard when you try to kill everyone around you. She might also disagree, and after a while, kill you and take all your stuff. This is all assuming most bandits wouldn't be so careless knowing they have little to lose and everything to gain. "Hey, if I die whatever this stuff wasn't mine, ill just kill someone else...oh wait, no respawn in real life." Really changes things when you actually only get one life. In the real world people won't be walking beancan ATMs. They will stay in one spot when they find a safe zone, stockpile in that structure, and have watches posted. A loner coming into said area with the intent on killing everyone they see would have a rough time. Try to rationalize it all you want, it doesn't make it true. It just makes you a psychotic redneck who will thankfully vanish from the gene pool. The true survivors are the ones with leadership, compassion, fortitude, the strength to do what is right for many instead of the few. Bandits who play this game purely for the player killing aspect are really missing out on everything it has to offer.

Freeside Trading Co. would be a good option. Check the FTC forums, make a post, or see if you can get a hold of someone in teamspeak. Trading security is their specialty, trust is paramount.

A valid concern that was not so eloquently worded gets shot down by hipsters who don't know how the internet works yet. To be honest, the more threads with similar concerns is a good indicator of an issue that is really game breaking as opposed to something with a minor inconvenience. Pages help too as an indicator, but then again too many people waste time posting "use search BREH" "or OMFG REPOST" so either way, you have to do some shit shoveling. Reposts happen. Deal with it.

So I had put in an application, and noticing that it may be 24 hours or so until it was processed I decided to get back in game and mess around. This is the ridiculously ironic, yet ridiculously true story that followed. I started on the shores near Kamenka, one of my favorite spots. I looted the town, getting lucky with ample food and water, and a hatchet to clear zeds silently. Just about to leave town, I find a trusty Makarov in one of the smaller residentials. I feel I have over stayed my welcome, nearby players will see the zeds spawning and I survive mostly by out-smarting...not out-gunning (should probably add in out-hacking nowadays, sad little bunch) . I head north to check the deer stands, hoping to luck out with a nice medium-long range weapon when I spot someone climbing up one of the ladders. I patiently wait until he comes down, as I don't want to startle him while he's climbing. He could fall, and I have no morphine to help him if he does. He reaches the ground, and I draw my pistol. "Hey, hey you! Are you friendly?" No response. I try again. "Hey! Are you friendly? C'mon, answer me, guy!" Anxious, I hear him start to find his voice. "Oh! Friendly, friendly, don't shoot!" Relieved, I lower my handgun enough to ease some tension, and crouch closer. "If you need food and water, I have spare in my backpack. But I'm heading north towards the cities around the airfield.' I say. 'What are you doing out here with no weapons?" "Actually, I am a member of the Freeside Trading Company, I'm trying to make my way towards a friend." I laugh to myself...how serendipitous. And that's how I met the Freeside Trading Company. Great bunch of guys.

You are experiencing very little of the game with this play-style. These methods would mostly only work on lone wolves. I wouldn't say positioning takes intelligence in this game. Sounds quite boring with the occasional "kill rush".

I don't know about you guys, but I have no problem vaulting over barbed wire when I come across it. Usually I have to be running full speed and standing up for it to work, but rarely do I come across one that I can't get over. This of course is annoying in its own right, as you are making quite a ruckus in doing so. I agree, though, that it is a problem, and it should be reworked. When I have a toolbox, I take down all fences and sandbags I come across, as a gift to the community.
